I am going to vent on how lousy the service is when it comes to inquiring about your credit card account. AHHHH! I have never in my life had such lousy service! These people sound as if they are having the worst day in the world. I called the customer service people with Old Navy and reported them. ARGH!

I'm sorry. :( I guess if I worked in a store with all the ambiance of a tobacco warehouse, I'd be grouchy too. Did you find out what you needed to know, at least?

Their commercials are annoying me.

Their commercials are so annoying. This is the reason why I've never gone into one.

Not to mention the clothes are cheep. Like a little bird. Cheep cheep cheep. I don't care how much they cost--it's an issue of quality.

I "discovered" Old Navy when I went to Minnesota in like 11th grade (6 years or so ago, before it was big out east). I fell in love with their jeans, but I notice a huge difference between then and now. Also, I'm perterbed because some of their pants don't come in lengths anymore--- short, average and tall. I'm tall and a lot of their pants don't fit me anymore.

What irritates me is that all of their jeans that look good are the ones that show your butt crack. I am also extremely short (5'2") and all of the pants are too long.

I thought it was just me. I remember one summer I went back to get the same size I had been wearing up to that point for a coupe of years and they did not fit at all the same, but very uncomfortable, long, baggy, I was annoyed. I only buy some shirts there now

The thing that irks me is they used to have some basics. I went there to get khakis that a) didn't show butt-crack and b) didn't have elephant bells. There were none to be found. :rolleyes:

This also applies to the Gap and Target. Can someone please tell me where to get business-casual khakis (other than Land's End - tried em, they don't fit) that don't make me look like I am going to the bar afterward?

But yes, the commercials are annoying. "eyes are blue, I'll connect you"! That is so "aaaaggghhhhh" But it is not Ms. Dresser found about her lines, she just says them.

So you're going to drive here and take me shopping? Cool! I will even buy you a Primanti's sandwich. :) This is to say, I was looking for something a little more economical. But thanks.

Re Fran Dresher, last night Mr 33 was bemoaning that "she's so pretty but her voice is terrible." I agree. When she was in American Hot Wax, she had an accent, but it was not as pronounced. She played it up in The Nanny for the character and now she can't quit.

old navy is VERY hit or miss - their sizes are always weird - especially in their shirts, i'll try something on in my normal size and it will be way too short, so i'll go up a size and its way too long...only on very rare occasions to i find something there that i actually like, and that also fits well.

however, i love their pajama pants.

Awww, I like Old Navy. It's like, the only place where I can find clothes that fit decently. Even when I went from a size 4 to a size 10, most of their stuff fits alright, except for those goofy track pants.

Oh no...my roommate is from Flushing Queens, and her voice is JUST LIKE THAT! It's soooo terrible. Plus, she whines all the good-gosh time.

That's exactly what my boyfriend said! Her accent never bothered me when she was on "The Nanny," but for some reason that Old Navy advert kills me...especially the "logo...a go-go!" part. Ouch...

I really like Old Navy's basic tees, but that's about all I've bought there recently. The one in Lexington is the most disorganized, messiest store I've ever seen in my life -- it's hideous! I shop online for my basic tees.

ahhh!! the "logo... a go go" is the worst part of the commercial to me! i want to punch fran drescher and the little girl dancing when she says that!!!

Old Navy FINALLY got around to crediting my CC account for the outstanding bill and refunded me the $25 late fee that they were trying to charge me even though I mailed the check overnite so it'd get there on time.

I buy my khakis at the Brooks Brother's outlet stores. I have never paid over $18 for a pair. They wear very well, too.

I am also irritated with that damn commercial. She says something about monkeying around, and they show a chimpanzee. Chimps ARE NOT monkeys they are APES. Monkeys have tails, apes don't. That is just on a basic level, as there are many more differences. I hope that chimp flung feces and banana peels at her.

Ummmmm, can we talk about the one in which Lil Kim whores herself out for Old Navy fleece turtlenecks?? She doesn't wear clothes, how in the world is she going to hawk them???

I can't stand their commercials, they make me want to scream. I went to their store once, maybe twice and I was totally depressed. Give me The Gap anyday (at least their commercials are cool!)!!!!

Actually, I can tell you that Star Jones wears Payless shoes at least SOME of the time. I met her a while back at a political thing I was at. The mood was very heavy, so I didn't bother chatting her up... But, she was wearing a pair of shoes I had just bought from Payless...

The problem I have with Old Navy clothes is that the women's clothes are cut really, really small. If you have ANY kind of bust, it's impossible to find one of the women's tops to wear that doesn't look like a baby tee or show midriff. And I usually have to go a size larger in their jeans than I usually go. (I am also short...5'3" and most of the pants are waaay too long on me as well.)

Old Navy sucks, its dispoasable clothing

My daughters love the T shirts at Old Navy. They're cute, with sparkly stuff or cute sayings or pictures or whatever and very cheap so I don't care if they get tired of them after wearing them three times.

Whoever said they were disposable clothes is right on the money, though.

KR, that's exactly why my sister does not mind getting clothes that my niece and nephew want from Old Navy. They grow out of the clothes before they get a chance to tear up or go out of style. :)

I can't see why they're so popular with adults, though.

Ain't no shame.
 

I can't afford frequent trips to the Gap, AE, A&F, or Banana.

I'm one of those poor folk, so Old Navy's something I love. It's all about the Clearance Sales for me. Overalls for $9.99 and t-shirts for $5.99? You can't go wrong with those.

I also have a hard time finding jeans that'll fit perfectly, but for some reason Old Navy jeans do the job.

I got a skirt at Old Navy for 1.99 once. I still wear it; its a great basic black skirt.

For the most part, though, the clothes are pretty disposable. My "fat" jeans are from there; they're cheap and I dont' feel badly when they get too big again.

I hate that all of their pants are made for REALLY tall people. I can't wear their capris, because at my height of 5'4, it just looks like my pants stayed in the dryer too long.

33girl, have you tried New York and Co.? That's all I wear around the office.

And I have the opposite problem with Old Navy pants from almost everyone else... I have a 36.5 inch inseam, and everything there is too short. I have to special order from Gap.com. If anyone needs extra-short or extra-long pants, gap.com has them for reasonable prices! And they last forever. I've had a few pairs for 6 years and they're still going strong!

Random factoid - Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic are all owned by Gap, Inc. I'm fairly certain clothes for all three stores are distributed from the exact same warehouse.
