Did anyone else see Janet Jackson on David Letterman last night? If you did, did she look a bit, errrr....., 'plastic' to you? I always thought she was pretty, but she is starting to look more and more like http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif LaToya or the new Micheal, which is quite scary!! I personally think she has gone a bit overboard with the plastic surgery. And before all of the men come out of the woodwork, NO, I am not "hating" on her!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/tongue.gif

She also looks like she has lost a bunch of weight.

MTV will have their special, ICON on her tonight. Will have to watch.

And I don't know why she's getting plastic surgery--she was gorgeous to begin with!

So who saw ICON last night? I loved it but I have to agree with Eclipse...she is starting to look a little plastic. Her face looked a littel pinched like LaTaoya's. I think she's SO pretty. N'Sync's rendition of "That's the Way Love Goes" was soooo good. Destiny's Child sounded very good on "Let's Wait A While". As much as I can't stand Beyonce, they know they can harmonize their behinds off. And Pink tore it up doing the end part of "Miss You Much". I thought it was all very good. I wonder if they will continue to do this Icon thing and who will be next. I think one on Madonna would be good. If they could do Michael Jackson, that would be better.

N'SYNC were the only ones, I thought that did justice to her work. Everyone else had to go. I can't stand Beyonce either, I thought they did a horrible job with "Let's Wait a While", Janet shouldv'e done it over. That was the song that I was waiting on too. Macy Gray was aigght also.

Okay, I have to get in on this one cause Janet ( Ms. Jackson if you nasty) is one of of the women in my herom. I hoped I spelled that correctly. I think that she looks very good. She had to put on a little weight to do the Nutty sequel. I personally don't think that she looks too thin or plastic at all. I don't think that she's had in recent plastic surgery. If she has, so what. Any of us who have dieted to lose weight, exercised, or any of you women have used that anti-aging stuff, it's basically the same thing. She just took the surgical route. Also, the reason why it doesn't take some celebrities that long to lose weight or to get trim...it's called a PERSONAL TRAINER. We the public have not seen her throught the transformation process. My mom has a friend who moved to Maryland, during this time her friend had stomach bypass surgery (she had her stomach stapeled). When she came down to Florida to visit my mom, she looked like a crack addict. But to people who she works with on her new job, she looks really healthy. I think sometimes we so quickly assume that rapid weight loss is a result of unhealthy practices. Not to say that some stars don't suffer from eating disorders.

Overall, the show was good. Yes I got it on tape for posterity sake. And I have watched the show 5 times already. You can tell I'm a fannatical fan. I've seen Michael in concert, now it's my life mission to see Janet. Some people want to go to Paris, London, Italy...I just want to see my Janet. Oh yeah, Pink was really good. But Mya, put it down with her "Pleasure Principle" rendition.

I am probably one of the biggest Janet fans in the world, so needless to say, I really enjoyed MTV Icon last night. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I enjoyed the performances by everyone else (especially Pink) except Macy Gray (not a fan of hers, anyway) and Buck Cherry (he totally destroyed "Nasty.") http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

As far as the way Janet looks, I think she looks lovely as always. I don't think she looks plastic at all. But, I agree with everyone else: what kind of body can we expect her to have with time and money for a personal trainer? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I also agree that she looks like she lost some weight in a short period of time. I think I like her when she has a little more meat on the bones. Nonetheless, she was great!

I thougth Icon was wonderful. I loved every part of it. MTV really did a good job. Janet was fabulous as she has always been. Moreover, just as NUPE4LIFE stated, I don't think she looks thin at all. It was after her Rhythm Nation album that she started working out with a personal trainer and getting into shape. If anyone has her previous albums or any type of memorbilia (I do because me and Janet go way back), one can clearly see that she has been in shape since Janet(1993), Design of a Decade(1995), and The Velvet Rope(1997). I actually thought she put on more weight in her face and I doubt plastic surgery does that, but who knows. I just cannot wait for her next album to drop so I can jam.

Whose to say that it has been a short time? Just wondering, because she has not been the news, besides awards shows (that I can recall) since N.P.II and she was "THICK" in that movie and that has been some time ago. I don't think that it is has been all of a sudden that she has lost weight, like some have mentioned. Besides when you have that much money, it does not take long to lose about 20 lbs when you really set your mind to it and have the time and correct techniques and eating habits.

For those that did see the show, girlfriend had to spend many hours practicing for that show! That is enough to make ANYBODY LOSE WEIGHT!!! I started sweating just watching!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I saw Icon last night and here are my opinions. Overall I thought the show was very good. I have newfound respect and admiration for 'NSYNC because their video rendition of "That's the way love goes" was soooo smooth! The dance routine by Usher, Pink and Mya was da Bomb - my altime favorite song of Janet's has got to be "The Pleasure Principle" and I can watch that video 1,000 times and not get tired of it http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Destiny's Child sang very well although Beyonce did not have to be so dramatic with her singing. Macy Gray - I believe her voice is an acquired taste for the eardrums. What the hell was Buck Cherry doing to "Nasty" http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif Jamie Foxx, Bill Bellamy and DL Hughley were funny in doing their spoofs. For those who saw Janet perform, did anyone notice that the dancers were wearing outfits that were featured in her previous videos? I thought the concept was pretty cool!!! I did realize that. My boyfriend and I were trying to figure out which video outfits were represented. I saw Scream, Escapade, If, Rhythm Nation, the video with Busta Rhymes, and that video where she's jumping all over the country (I think it's called Runaway). But that's all I saw.

I guess I'm the only one who liked the band doing "Nasty"...that was the @*&% to me!!! Those were the only parts I saw, but even mean-old-Janet-critic me thought those parts were tight.

I feelin the lyrics to their new song "Survivor". Whether or not you're a Destiny's Child fan the song is pretty inspirational and aside from the speaking of their trial and tribulations with the group the lyrics can be applied to anyone who has ever faced adverse situations in their life and have perservered (sp).

I enjoyed the show too. I thought N'Sync was tight. I was cracking up at that video. I love me some Justin. I didn't really enjoy Beyonce an nem too much. Was it just me or were they in deserate need of a soprano? I thought Macy Gray was terrible. (I just don't get it) But I loved the dance thing by Pink, Usher, and Mya. I give it an overall thumbs up.

It aired again last night, but it went off at 8:30EST so I only got to see the last 30 minutes. I've never been a big Janet fan, but I don't think she looks that bad. She is just beginning to show her age.

I thought the dance thing was cute but.. it seemed like Mya was just a little spastic or something.. was that just me? Pink was *THE BOMB* though - I give her much props - she is so talented.

I thought I was the only one who hated that dang song. The idea for the video is cool, but I just don't think that part with Michelle (Tenetria...yeah, I read the vibe article too) singing fit in with the song.

I had the chance to see her in The Velvet Rope, so I made sure I didn't miss out on this one. Yours truly scored 10th row field seats. I can't wait!
