Christmas without someone =(

It's my first christmas without a man...Christmas is the worst time to be single cause its so cold and I love to........ *Snuggle*..........Anyone wanna come to Alabama and be my snuggle buddy:(

AGDGirl 12-09-2003 07:55 PM

SmartBlondeGPhB 12-09-2003 07:56 PM

Look on the bright side...............

One less gift to buy. :D

Ditto!

The first year is the worst, but you'll get through it :)

AGDGirl 12-09-2003 08:03 PM

I love buying gifts.

ThetaPrincess24 12-09-2003 08:05 PM

being single at christmas sucks but tis' nto so bad. Keep yourself occupied and surrounded by family and friends.......or if you get lonely do what i do sometimes, bake xmas cookies and kentucky bourbon chocolate brownies for the neighbors :)

or call up friends that you havent talked to in a while.......read a book, start a journal, learn a craft, etc :) If you are occupied and thinkign of other things, then you dont think about being lonely and manless. I'm finding that it's working rather well for me this year :)

Unregistered- 12-09-2003 08:07 PM

Single now (but hopefully not for long!) for the past 2 Christmases and I'm doing just fine.

Hopefully the boy will make up his mind by December 25th. If not, Christmas will still be special anyway. I've got the bestest friends in the whole world. :)

this is an excellent idea and one i try to do every year at xmas time through toys for tots........i feel so good about myself after doing it too. I only wish i could see the faces of the children.

Another way to do it is the by way of giving trees. In fact you can pool money together with friends or even your sorority chapter and buy one big gift that is on someone's list (usually it's an older child or teen).

You can also use that money for other things by buying needed supplies to the local humane society in your area(cat food, dog food, bedding, blankets, pet toys, cat litter etc). Or buying and donating canned goods to a soup kitchen or God's Pantry.

I feel bad for all the desperate women out there.

I do this, too! I collect a lot of different items and box them all up for Operation Christmas Child. It's a Christian mission headed by Franklin Graham, which allows children in third world countries to experience the joy of Christmas.

That was a great idea to share with everyone :)

ThetaGrrl 12-10-2003 06:04 PM

I'm lucky, because my fiance is flying home for Christmas, but he leaves for Japan (he's stationed there) the day after. I think the day after Christmas is maybe the worst day of the whole year, and this year, it's going to be even worse. I hate even thinking about it.

AGDGirl 12-10-2003 06:16 PM

AWWW! I'm so sorry!

swissmiss04 12-10-2003 07:10 PM

I haven't had a single Xmas since high school. Not that that's a good thing. This is, however, my first Christmas away from my family. I am sort of sad about it. :(

James 12-24-2003 02:28 AM

Get over it ladies? Seriously. You never see boys whining about being alone at holidays . . oh wait . Thats because we don't have to deal with being the prize show pony at the family function you dragged us to as well as the gifts we had to shower onto you lol .. .

Holidays don't work for the BF. Its a chick thing.

I think he's afraid of being a prize show pony for any woman's family that wouldn't get a fair price since he was already gelded (?)(i.e. the missing Penis thread) :D ;)

I know I can only speak for myself, but here's my take.

It's all societal, unfortunately. Girls are under a lot more pressure than guys, especially once they graduate from college, to settle down. I am sure almost everyone has some annoying relative, no matter how distant, who asks if there are any marriage prospects over Christmas dinner.

I'm not whining so much because I do not have a significant other in my life, as I am whining because I don't want to be the topic of dinner conversation at Christmas.

James 12-24-2003 02:48 AM

LOL . . . (sotto voice: she is getting long in the tooth .. what if she ends up an old maid surrounded by cats?)

you have a man though, so you have no worries.

If something would happen though, perhaps you can surround yourself with porcelien unicorn figurines.

That may be true, but sunday night you're gonna be partying with SATX, lifesaver, Kitso, and little Kitso in SA. That should be all the cheering up you need, K.

And i chalk the cat thing up to your occupation.

You should punch her...just to make her less gorgeous.

I'm alone on xmas this year and I have no man...........and i really dont care.......i had a bf the past two xmas's and I might as well have been alone because i didnt see him and he got me nothing...........it's all in the mind. I'm used to it, doenst bother me anymore, all the more time i happily have to spend with family and to spend money on thyself heh :)

Munchkin03 12-24-2003 02:40 PM

Eh, this Christmas doesn't seem any different from the Christmases for which I have been single. I always have fun with friends and family--none of whom have pressured me about when I'm getting married or any such thing.

Think of it as one less person to buy for. :)
