Which Celebrity's Death Would Sadden You the Most?

Which celebrity, if he (or she) were to die, would sadden you the most, and why?

For me, it would be Rodney Dangerfield. He reminds me of my late Grandfather Irving Warshay, and reminds me of many of the better parts of my childhood spent with my family. Not to mention how much he still makes me laugh in Caddy Shack, Easy Money (I love the regular guy look), Back to School, and others.

Tom Hanks. I grew up watching Big and have followed his career and I really respect him.

I don't think any other celebrity's death could ever sadden me more than the death of Mister Rogers. :(

Steven Hawking: he is a brilliant man who has worked past his disability in a way that no one else could have and he is a living testament to the fact that if you're determined, absolutely nothing can stand in your way.

You know, I usually keep track with the news but there were at least 4 on the list that made me think "Holy crap...I forgot he/she passed away..."

Jimmy Buffett. I love that man. :D

No celebrity's death has upset me more than the death of Princess Diana..........................it still bothers me to this day when I see pictures of the wreckage.....extremely sad :(

aabby757 12-08-2003 03:40 PM

Oprah Winfrey. I love her and think she has such an incredible heart.

And, any of the Friends. I feel like I know them -- weird I know!

ZTAngel 12-08-2003 03:44 PM

Nothing is sadder than the death of Princess Diana. I still get teary eyed when I see pictures of her.

I'd be sad if Michael Jackson died. He's been such an inspiration to music; so many musicians today emulate his style and sound.
Plus, I keep hoping that maybe he'll get his act together and come out of all these allegations and rumors on top. It would be sad to see him go while he's in the midst of all this controversy. He's such a talented man and if he died now, he'd unfortunately be remembered as a child molester and a weirdo rather than a musical genius.

I don't think any celebrities death would devistate me.
Death is a sad time and there have been many talented celbrities that have passed away, many at an early age.
But none would have a profound effect on my life.

One I'd like to add

Though I still believe nothing could top Princess Diana's death, I think I would be quite sad if something happened to George W. Bush or Laura Bush, or even Lynne Cheney. I just think they are great people and do a lot of great things.

Ditto! If something happened to G.W I would go insane, love that man!
Also, if something happened to Britney Spears - I would totally lock myself in my room for days and not come out. OMG the thought depresses me. Her upbeat music and goofy interviews make me happy and normally always can get me out of a funk. And for you all that hate her, I don't want any hate mail on this. You can keep it to yourself!

I was also really upset when John Ritter died. I had just started watching 8 simple rules, and it was really funny. He just seemed like such a good guy, and his daughter who's bday was on Sept. 11th. bad enough that the day will live on as a tragedy but now it has her dad's death to add to it. :(

ThetaPrincess24 12-09-2003 12:15 AM

John Ritter's death was sad........I love him on Three's Company of which I still watch reruns :)

Bumping because it wasn't that long ago that Rodney passed away, and because I've got some new answers.

Yogi Bera and Mel Brooks.

Yogi Bera seems like such a good person, who has given so much (a lot of it by mistake.) His inability to to get a grasp on the English language now makes him seem like an unlikely prophet.

Mel Brooks has made me laugh, so many times, with classics like Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein (its pronounced "Fronkensteen!") He's still creative, and I'd hate to see him go.

Mr. Dressup's (Canadian TV personality, sort of like Mr. Rogers, but way cooler) death in 2001 really made me cry. I learned how to speak English by watching Mr. Dressup!

Gotta second and third Jim Hensen and Mr. Rogers. Their shows just remind me of such a simpler, more innocent time...when I was young and had no worries. They brought so much joy and happiness into the world.

I didn't know that Mr. Dressup died. My brother's name is Vince and I always called him "Vinnigan" like Casey and Finnigan. My kids watched him too, although Casey and Finnigan weren't on anymore. I watched him as much as Mr. Rogers (In Detroit we get channel 9 out of Windsor!)
