What is on your Thanksgiving table?
I was talking to a friend of mine tonight as I was getting all my pre-Thanksgiving stuff completed. We got onto the topic of what we usually have on our table, so now I am curious about what other families have on Thankgiving.

Turkey (but not whole. it's cut up and been marinating for DAYS.)
Green Beans Corn Squash Stuffing (Portuguese style) Portuguese Bread Mashed Potatoes Garlic "Smashed" Potatoes Cacoila (Portuguese marinated pork) Bacalhau (cod fish) Kale Soup Turnip/Carrot mashed mixture Stuffed Green Peppers Seafood Rice/Pasta Scallops/Crabs Cranberry Sauce Salad Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake w/ Cherries Angelfood Cake w/ Strawberries Flan We have a 30 person feast. I have a HUGE family. |

Well, dontknow how many will read this, not many on site this early.
Was going to do Boiled Shrimp, but one of my best friends new I wasnt going down to Dads, so He told me to get my butt over. His wifey Debbie is fixing: Turkey, mashed taters, Stuffing, green bean casarol, cranberry salad, pecan pie and pumpkin pie. God knows what else she will fix as she goes nuts around the Holidays:D Just Dan/Debbie/Cassie (Daughter) and me. Hoping fo left overs for a care package to take home with me! LOL! My kids are getting hungry--we don't eat until 4--and a couple of them swiped miniature marshmallows from the ambrosia and were roasting them on toothpicks over the candles! (And singing Girl Scout songs.)

2 Hams Deer meat Fish Cornbread stuffing/dressing Green beans Broccoli and Cheese caserole 4 different types of rolls chicken and dumplings green bean caserole cranberries cream corn candy yams mashed potatoes and gravy squash/rice/cheese caserole macoroni and cheese caserole marshmellow fruit salad turnip greens green been caserole and 3 or 4 other things I can't remember because I didnt eat them. All homemade 3 apple pies ( I snatched up one of them to bring home with me ) blueberry pie cherry pie 3 pumpkin pies apple upsidedown cake coconut custard pie pumpkin cake brownies 2 lemon meringue pies Bannana pudding Some red strawberry stuff that was sugar free German chocolate cake (3 huge layers!!!!) I was so stuffed. I don't think I've eaten like that since the last thanksgiving/christmas. |

My Thanksgiving was cooked mostly by my little sis. The menu:
Turkey (possibly the best turkey I've ever had) stuffing mac n' cheese mashed potatoes green bean casserole yams w/ marshmallows, butter, and brown sugar rice w/ beef and cream sauce (it's yummm) cocktail smokies in bbq sauce apple pie apple crisp pumpkin pie considering this was just for 4 people I'd say it was good. I know I was stuffed! |

Turkey Stuffing (homemade and Stove Top since I love both) Mashed potatoes made w/sour cream and cream cheese Corn Creamed corn casserole (yummmmm) Corn on the cob (Can you tell I am from Nebraska yet? ;) ) Sweet potatoes w/brown sugar Cranberry sauce Rolls Homemade cherry and pumpkin pies with real yummy whipped cream made by ME! In addition to all the traditional stuff my mom also makes a few Indian dishes since she's an awesome cook and everyone loves eating her food. I'm not sure what she's going to make for tomorrow, it's always a surprise but always good! :) I bought my puppy some special bacon flavored "munchy sticks" haha so he'll have something tasty to chomp on while we're all stuffing our faces tomorrow night. We are actually not having turkey this year. We're going to my in-laws (yay, I don't have to cook! :) ). They're preparing lamb chops (yum!), saffron rice, mixed veggies, and a salad. We're bringing a bottle of wine and a chocolate cake.
