American Idol 3 - January 20, 2004
2 more months folks. . .I cannot wait for the non-singing folks.
I am going to ask Santa for a counter to count how many times Randy says DAWG this season. |
I'm ready for AI3 even though after the Rueben/Clay hullabaloo I swore I wasn't gonna watch AI beyond the bad auditions.
|
My friend at A&M made it to Hollywood. I will definately be cheering her on
*that heffa can sang too* |
I am only going to watch the auditions. They are the best part of the show!
|

http://www.nypost.com/photos/ent01030469a.jpg January 3, 2004 -- STUNNED "American Idol" champ Kelly Clarkson abruptly left the set of "World Idol" New Years' night after fans snubbed her in favor of a gap-toothed plumber from Norway. Clarkson, who had been favored to win the competition, appeared dazed by the loss and did not stick around to congratulate Kurt Nilsen, 24, the good-natured father of two who won. Clarkson placed second. "We didn't get to talk. I think she went back to her hotel I guess," Nilsen told The Post yesterday. The talk of the "Idol" world yesterday was how upset Clarkson appeared on the show, which was taped Thursday afternoon in London and broadcast through various time zones across the world. She appeared to grow increasingly disgruntled as the votes from different regions were tallied and it became clear she was losing to an otherwise-unknown singer from a small Scandinavian country. Nilsen is a fan of Clarkson. He traveled all the way to New York from Norway last year to hear her sing at Giant Stadium. It was his first trip to the U.S. Kurt, too, seemed surprised he could not find her after the show. "Everybody wanted to talk to me and take pictures," he said. "I didn't get a chance to say goodbye." What was clear was that winning the first annual showdown of "Idol" winners from around the world will change the young man's life dramatically. His single is being a released this week in England and discussions are underway to see if it will get a U.S. release. "We have to now take the next couple of weeks to have meetings," says his manager Jan Fredrik. If his record is released here, Nilsen will have to deal again with the idea that he doesn't have the classic good looks of a pop music idol. Despite his new, relative wealth, Kurt says he will not have his teeth fixed to remove what has become his trademark - a wide space between his front teeth. "I'm really happy the way I am because if I changed my look I think people would think that I had [sold out]," Nilsen said. Nilsen returned to Norway yesterday after spending New Year's day in a London studio were the holiday show was filmed. He was greeted at the airport in the seaside city of Bergen, by thousands of hysterical fans, a marching band the city's mayor and other assorted dignitaries. He later was congratulated via phone by Norway's Prime Minister. It was Nilsen's strong performance of U2's hit "Beautiful Day" in a "World Idol" special that aired on Christmas Day that left "Idol" judges and millions of viewers from around the world star-struck and ultimately helped him snare the title of "World Idol." The show aired in more than 22 countries and was seen by millions of viewers. |
Has anyone seen the commercial with the Asian dude messing up a Ricky Martin song? At the end he's like, "I've had no professional training for my singing". That commercial makes me CTFU.
|
7 more minutes :D
|
Oh yes, I'm ready! I'mmmmmm reaaaaaady!
|
I have no intention of watching this
But I surely will be entertained by your recaps.
:p |
Please tell me we are not going to be BOMBARDED with military folks. Why did ol boy just RAP?!?!!? and in another language?
|
Why is this girl from Bulgaria's voice so deep? She sounds absolutely ridiculous.
Sidebar: There are a lot of Eastern Europians auditioning this time. |
That guy from Kosovo sounded like a drunk person with an extra chromosome.

Simon is going to take that girl to sing in a bar/restaurant because he thinks she is so bad that she will clear the restaurant. Better shape up because I need a man. :p
|

Jacqueline. . . .when folks are LAUGHING AT you. . .stop singing or whatever da heck dat was. UGH. |
I had tears coming out of my eyes for the entire hour. Jacqueline is a MAN!!! That's what I think. I can't WAIT to see the clip where Simon has the water thrown in his face!!:o
|
Can I just say about the manly woman - - Okay, it's true, she had a DEEP-AZZ voice, but DAYUM!!!!! How you gon' be on NATIONAL tv and tell some story about someone calling your house and asking for Ivan and being like "I'm not Ivan, I swear".. Soooooo not feelin' that.
ETA: Route 66 girl: YOWWW!!! :D |

It seemed like ole girl was about to lose the bet. Do they not video themselves BEFORE they audition? That "scatting" child  what was going on with her and Route 66? |

I did want to take Nikki's scooter and run her over with it. She was getting on my nerves!!!!!!!!!! SYAD!! |

And "scatgirl" apparently took the wrong route! CT4 I agree with you. I think bro'man knew he was on camera and just decided to take advantage of his 3 minutes of fame and just stayed there. Did you see that he gave her a lollipop? Too funny. I think Nikki is gonna be like one of the blonde chick's on AI2 (don't remember her name right now) - she talks too much! |
bwahahahhhaha

i do not understand where these people come from and why do they think that they have talent? i was ctfu when ol' girl was embarrassed at the bar. served her azz right! i thought it was especially funny when the only guy left i think gave her a lollipop..lol. i don't know about you guys but i LOVE simon. he usually tells it like it is. |
I was CTHU the entire hour. Those folk are a HOT MESS!!!!! Even Randy and Paula have gotten a little mean. :)
|
Randy and Paula
I guess so. This is AI 3 and peeps are still auditioning knowing THEY CAN'T SING!
|
Heads up (though you may already know)
Simon Cowell was interviewed on NPR's talk show "Fresh Air" Thursday, 1/15/04 and warned that the acts this season were among some of the worst he has EVER seen! So even though we're one night in AI3, like Rev. Jim said on Taxi: You ain't seen nothin; yet.
|
The girl from Bolivia (I believe) had a beautiful voice. The two brothers that had not seen each other in years were also good. The others...SUCKED! HATED IT!
|
AI3 is too funny! 2D you are right, WHY are these peeps here knowing they can't sing?
The girl with Route 66--WRONG. Just plain wrong. I'm surprised ya'll didn't mention "Scooter Girl" yet...she got in but she was funny nonetheless. They're showing Atlanta tonight...I hope we represented! |
I was ready last night with my bowl of chocolate Carb Smart ice cream! I made sure that the child got read to, got his bath and got set up in the living room to watch SpongeBob before AI3 came on!!
WHY did that girl constantly argue with Simon, THEN take him up on his challenge to sing at the bar?? That heffa sounded like a big steaming bowl of hot mess!! I was LMAO at her when everyone in the bar left except that guy who gave her a hug and a Blow Pop. He should've gave her butt a Dum-Dum pop for acting like a dum-dum. Hubby felt bad for her but I was all like good for her!! :p  at that military guy who rapped in another language. at that military girl who told Simon and them that she wasn't good at anything in the army. :o for that girl that sang Route 66. She sounded like Route 666 with all that messed up scatting!! And that girl from whatever country she was from sounding like a man!! She sounded like my car's muffler!! Can't wait for tonight!! |

Why did I miss AI3 yesterday - I was driving down from ATL. So best believe, I will be watching tonight - maybe I'll see someoone I recognize from ATL. I did see scooter girl though........ummm, yeah  animated much????? I liked her voice though. |
Okay so what about old boy that sang, "ribbon in the sky." He just knew he could sing. Those facial expressions, and everything was just hilarious.

Oh I like the first girl a lot - Amy - she was cute.
Wow - the flashdance reject???? - "I swear on my life and I never swear on my life"? And who is her "manager" friend? Tiffany, Tiffany, Tiffany, - Celine's excuse for her drama is she can actually sing - what's yours???? This child dang near shattered my TV. Strike a pose!! This is not Madonna's VOGUE. LOL at Simon's comment. Okay, Payton - leave the drugs alone. He really was high over the rainbow. NEVER again will I be able to listen to "A Whole New World" without remembering this "remix"/chorale version. Especially homeboy shaking the glittery hat, and "homeboy" in the black sweater. "Hot stuff" - uh huh - yeah. What was the chair for?? 'nuff said Laketa is dramatizing too much. Her blonde highlights - i wasn't feeling them. Okay it's a family affair - her momma has them too. Paula is a mess. LOL at ppl serenading her every year. Let the boy go Paula!!!! The boy,Paul, is a trip. Loving a granny???? Blue sweater boy ain't never had control of his voice. Is he being tortured? I felt bad - he looked like he was about to cry. He sho' is "crazy for feeling so blue" and looking it too. The judges are mean. At least the boy was laughing too. - See why people call ATL one of the gay capitals. People just showing out:) - Can y'all tell I'm typing as I watch the show?? |

* Lauren and her daddy are cute. I liked her.
* Ok, I liked Terance too. He's sorta cute. His visual aspect might need some changing - just wardrobe-wise. LOL at his reaction. Not a skip!:) * WHY PABLO GOTTA BE FROM ATL????? Couldn't he have been from Memphis or Ft Lauderdale like some of the other contestants. * Fantasia??? Interesting name. I liked her too but that facial piercing bugs me. She is a little TOO CRUNK :):) * LOL at a "slightly darker" Elvis. * Kimberly II - 'nuff said. Not feeling her that much. Tell her Simon!! * Southern compilations courtesy of Andrew. For only 2 payments of $19.95 not including shipping and handling. Um, NOT!!! It's so funny how many people do not realize that singing is not where their talent lies. Now, I sing all the time, but I do give fair warning to anyone entering my car, that I WILL SING ALONG. SO bring on the earplugs. I'm not going to lie to myself and go on to AI4 talking about make me the next American Idol. These people's feelings would not be so hurt, If they'd just face reality ETA: Houston's about to be crazier. Now it's time for Top Model |

I missed the first 20 minutes of American Idol last night but I was extremely NOT IMPRESSED by any of the voices who made it on to Hollywood last night. Who taught these kids that runs are the IT thing?
I am looking forward to Houston when old boy throws water on Simon, LMAO. On the whole, AI3 is not as exciting to me as AI and AI2 were. |
Shucks!
IT CAME ON LAST NIGHT? WTF...where was MY MIND?
