Santa Claus Is a Black Man!
What are your favorite non-tradtional or black Christmas songs?
|
"Silent Night" By the Temptations!!
When I hear that song it is the official start of the Christmas season |
"Let it Snow" by Boyz II Men and Brian McKnight
It's another Christmas Holiday It's a joyous thing let the angels sing Cause were together Sorry, but that's my favorite "Sleigh Ride" by TLC and "8 Days of Christmas" by Destiny's Child are okay. ETA: "Little Drummer Boy" by Lauryn Hill... it's tight, and it's not just because I love Lauryn Hill either. |

It's the bomb (assuming this is the Christmas CD he came out with 2 years ago and not a new one). Funny thing (and I'm a big FH fan) is when I first played it I didn't like it; almost gave it away to someone. But then I started playing it and it is really good. Now I will play it in June, July, whenever. My kids look at me like I'm crazy...but then they think that's the case anyway. :) |
I love "Every Year, Every Christmas" by Luther
|
"Christmas in Hollis" by Run-DMC. No comparison anywhere

Does anyone remember the name of the Christmas song rapper Cutris Blow made back in the day? It came on the radio the other night (yeah I know I talk country:p ) but I had to get out of the car before the DJ could say the title.

Mine are....
Caroling, Caroling by Natalie Cole (her uncle's is good, but I like her singing better)
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas by Johnny Mathis Santa Claus Is Coming To Town by The Pointer Sister (I love the J5 version, but I have not heard ONE radio play it all season). Christmas Time Is Here by Ray Parker, Jr. Sleigh Ride by ??? --It's the funky 80s version that goes: "Jingle bells, jingle bells, Santa's comin' (Santa Claus), Santa's comin (Santa Claus). Believe it or not, I like (I'm not sure of the title) What Y'all Gon' Get For Christmas by the 69 Boyz. It has a ghetto brother and sister asking for what they want ala The 12 Days Of Christmas. It was HEE-LARIOUS. OK, I know this isn't a black song but... I absolutely LOVE the song The 12 Pains of Christmas by the Bob Rivers Comedy Group. It is off the chain. |
1. This Christmas (Donny Hathaway)
2. Silent Nite (Temptations) 3.Christmas Song (Nat King Cole) 4. Santa Clause is Coming to Town (Jackson 5) 5. What do the Lonely Do (Emotions) |
