NBA "A few Stars" weekend
Now I know I said this a few months ago, but there is no question in my mind that I am now an old man.
Me and my best friend (frat) went to the club on Saturday and after paying to much to get in this place, I spent half of the night walking around, and really not even enjoying myself. I danced a few times, but the most fun I had was watching the lovely ladies, and the Pimps. I have never seen so many brothers with Lime green, orange, and any other color gator shoes that you can think of. Also, why was brothers tryig to rock fur coats. This isn't Detroit or Chicago. (Note to self, just becuase it cost a lot, doesn't mean it looks good) Me and my boy were ready to go after the first hour, but I was like, I will be getting my $60 worth some kinda way. One club was charging $150 to get in. We concluded that we are just not into the crowds (Lines winding down the street to get in), and all that anymore. I don't mind going out every so often, but I think it's time to give up my player pass before it gets revoked. I really don't want to be one of those 50 year old brothers up in the club trying to holler at some 19 year old student at Howard and looking silly. This happens quite a bit up here. Now I love looking at half naked sistas just as much as the next man, but come on sistas, if it is 30 degrees outside, put some damn clothes on. And why did I get asked twice if I play in the NFL? I was like if I had s*&T you aint getting none, and since I really don't have it like that you damn sure ain't getting none. I also overheard these two sistas talking about getting with a basketball player by the end of the weekend. If that is the only reason you came to DC was to get with a baller, then you got issues. Now sistas will holler about how dogish brothers are, and in some cases you are right, but I don't hear too much from them about the actions of thier sistas. (Not that anyone on GC would ever be like this). I guess it's time for me to find me an ulgly woman, have some ugly kids and call it a life. Now I love yawl sistas, but a few need a little more home traing. I wrote a little song about about: Give me a educated chick, Give me a degree having chick, One that has got a job, And got a 401k You get what I am trying to say. I will be looking into a retirement home this week. N4L and Bobby Earl, I might need you brothers to help wheel me into old folks home. MN, I'd like to thank you for making me laugh today! I'm LMAO at the "Note to self," did you get that from that Norm McDonald movie (I forget the name). That was funny. Your rendition of Project Chick was hilarious as well. Anyway, I feel you on not being as into the clubs as much anymore. It's just not the same. It shouldn't take much for you to find the educated, degree-having, job-having, 401k having sista. Good luck in your quest. And when you find her, ask her if she has a brother with the same credentials! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

NUPE, Sometimes I feel the same way. You know you are old when some of your favorite movies are GODFATHER 1 & 2, and the Star Wars Trilogy. And everybody else's favorite movie is "FRIDAY" and "Menace to Society". I feel ya on that song. Hell, if you mention 401k to SOME (I said some not all down south ladies) of the women down here, they would probably say "No indeed, That is just too much gold to be wearin!" http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif Like Deangelo says, "GHETTOOOOOO HEAVEN" need a little "GHETTOOOOO..." Mandingonupe, when you find that ugly girl, see if she has a sister. Make sho she is thick http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif, though. Um bout to shred my player's card, also. Most of yall need not go out until there is a blue light basement party. Lets face it - yall old azzes (LOL)
Seriously, I knew I was to old for many of the clubs in my area when I started running into my much younger brother's friends and they run up to me and say hey Mr. _ _ _. Dosen't it piss you off when you are trying to get your groove on and some kid starts calling you Mr. like Hey Mr. Jones or that's Ms. Linda, she went to school with my mother. It make me feel old. When I taught school I made the Kids call me Mr. + my first name. Hell, I'm still a tough brother and make a sista back that thang up like I was 19. (I can't believe I'm posting this - I'm just a church boy hoping my mother's not surfing the web) |

MN, Don't use Chicago in the same example as Detroit.....That ain't right! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/tongue.gif Those in Chicago that wear the Green Grranimals(ol' Skool!) type of gear live on the West Side, which is like another Country here! *LOL* There's Chicago, and then there's West Chicago. I think Detroit and St. Louis are a little more evenly matched. BTW, I feel you on the DC All-Star weekend! I used to live there, and as a woman that is not looking to stand in the Chicken Line to get a ball player, I would never go to All-Star weekend festivities. I love sports, but that environment is a bit too much for me. One of my friends got pushed down the stairs at a party b/c she was hanging out with a ball player who is her cousin, and a girl was trying to get to him, so she pushed her right down the stairs! OK then.... Just retire at the height of your player career...We'll support you! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif |

How about a Roth IRA, as opposed to a 401(k)? |
MN,
Your All Star experience sounds just like my Super Bowl experience. I saw the same dude every-single-night, at every-single party wearing this played out rabbit fur coat!! He really thought he was the -ish. And, really, we are in TAMPA, 80 degrees, Florida. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif The chicks, **clearing my throat**, not including myself http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif were out baller hunting. At point I was at this party and my ex, who is a pretty diesel guy, was there. After he passed by, the chickenhead sitting next to me was like "Damn, I wonder what team he plays for? I would have to pimp his *ss. I bet he makes mad loot!" http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif She had no idea who she was sitting next to. You know I had to run an inteference on that!! The parties were also going for like $100-$250. It was crazy. ------------------ Sweet dreams are made of this... |
MN you are cracking me up!
I know the Professor didn't call anybody old with his centipeding azz http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif! Did you say that you can make a sista back that thang up? Sheeesh, I am about to get x-rated. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif Bobby Earl-Godfather 1 and 2- how about Jaws! LOL ------------------ You are the master of your own destiny! |

Nupe, Where did you go? I went to the Gardens Friday night and I have to say that I was proud of my sistas, you didn't see much skin at all. I'm sure there were some out there, but for the most part I think the sistas were dressed decently. My friend and I actually made a comment that sistas weren't to hoochie. Also don't put it all on the sistas. The men, pimps, player, whatever, were all over women in there. We are standing in the line for the bathroom and some not to attractive guy comes up to me and puts his arm around me, when I told him don't touch me, he looked at me like I was crazy. I told him, do I know you and even if I did don't freakin touch me. This happened a lot. The men had the impression that no matter how the women were dressed we were all hoochies and wanted to be touched, Heck NO!. And as far as the football thing, part of this guy's rap to me was I have a lot of friends that are professional football players. I looked at him and said ok and. I was not impressed and this is coming from a women with a degree, excellent career and a 401K plan http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |
Why is it that brothers claim that they can find anybody decent?
I have several (meaning like 6) nice looking female friends, who would love to settle down with a normal, God-fearing guys. Most are educated beyond high school, have jobs and cars.... and some of them don't EVEN HAVE ANY CHILDREN!!!! My advice is for the brothers to try a new location. Most of my single, cute, educated, upwardly-mobile friends left the club scene alone many moons ago. I'm from Chicago, Il, so maybe geography has something to do with the lack of prospectives. I don't know, I'm just trying to help. Miss. Mocha |
Actually, here's what I think: not necessarily the men on Greekchat but I think that a lot of men have come across these "good" women but at that time were too busy trying to get with the "other" women. You know that's how life can be. People always want what they don't have. If people are in a solid relationship with a good person, then they wonder what they might be missing. If they're single and tired of dating losers, then they hope for that good man/woman to come into their life. I know at all times I appreciate that good man in my life and he makes sure I know he appreciates me.
My advice: appreciate what you have while you have it or come across it, because you might just regret taken it for granted when you want it or lose it. |
