Addicted to Stimulants?

How many of us here in GC land are addicted to stimulants?

Coffee Tea ephedrine or whatever?

KSigkid 11-20-2003 10:36 PM

I need to have at least one bit of caffeine to start my day - my morning workout (usually around 5 am most mornings) wakes me up, but I need the caffeine for that extra push.

xok85xo 11-20-2003 11:03 PM

when i had bronchitis a few weeks ago i managed to successfully wean myself off of all caffiene :)

ShaedyKD 11-20-2003 11:06 PM

I feel the need...the need for CAFFEINE! I am so addicted that if I miss my morning cup (or 2, or 3) of coffee, I will have a raging headache until I get some. The last time I went without coffee for more than 2 days was when I was sick and didn't want to get dehydrated. By the 3rd day I had to go back to work, so I needed a pick me up and went back to the coffee pot.

AOIIalum 11-20-2003 11:11 PM

Diet Coke. It's an addiction.

absolutuscchick 11-20-2003 11:42 PM

I'm not addicted to them but sometimes I need a sugar free red bull or a cup of coffee...but I know that if I have coffee for like three or four days in a row I will have withdrawals from it....no fun!!

Hootie 11-21-2003 12:34 AM

Diet Coke here too! Can't get through a long day without one!

33girl 11-21-2003 12:38 AM

If I don't have caffeine in some form within a few hours after I rise, I am not a happy camper.

tinydancer 11-21-2003 12:56 AM

Have to have one real Co-Cola every day!!
;)

DeltAlum 11-21-2003 01:48 AM

Have never liked coffee at all. Have Iced tea with lunch fairly often. On prescription or other kinds of drugs at all.

Kevin 11-21-2003 01:49 AM

When I used to be a regular tea/soda drinker and I'd stop for a day, I'd get withdrawal symptoms. I've pretty much stopped regular use of caffeine due to that.

bethany1982 11-21-2003 01:54 AM

I could live without caffeine, even though it might be difficult at first. Everything else would be easy.

Munchkin03 11-21-2003 01:57 AM

Caffeine-free for four years! :)

TigerLilly 11-21-2003 06:17 AM

Definitely addicted to the Diet Coke. I don't think it's just the caffeine...I really like the taste. Yummy! I know I *can* wean myself off it, because I've done it before, but then I gotta have that yummy-tasting Diet Coke again!

valkyrie 11-21-2003 07:24 AM

I can't live without coffee. I love the taste and ritual of it more than anything else.

A serious addiction for which I need help:D

I start my day off with a diet coke. I like it better than coffee.

decadence 11-21-2003 10:13 AM

My name is "decadence"

...and I'm a Diet-Coke@holic.
Coca-Cola isn't the same; has to be diet. And never just one a day. Sigh. :D

Me too. I get by without coffee in the morning, but I like starting my day with it.

Ginger 11-21-2003 11:18 AM

I gave up caffeine a few months ago.

If I felt that bad giving up a "mild" drug like caffeine, I can't imagine what withdrawal is like for people who are going off cocaine, heroin, etc.

swissmiss04 11-21-2003 11:25 AM

Hot tea buddy! The catch is is that I drink about 4 cups a day. So that's a significant amount of caffeine. One cup really isn't, unless it's brewed ultrastrong. I like coffee but it upsets my tummy so I only drink it a couple times a week.

CC1GC 11-21-2003 07:00 PM

I've been drinking coffee near-daily since grade 7....i geuss i'm addicted to it, i've never tried going without for an extended period of time.

aephi alum 11-21-2003 07:10 PM

Coffee is your friend! :) Two cups every morning.

greeklawgirl 11-21-2003 07:23 PM

3 weeks caffeine free! ;)

Thought that I would taste a huge difference in my coffee, but I don't. Everyone says you can taste the difference. Maybe my tastebuds are shot?

adpialumcsuc 11-21-2003 07:49 PM

I love Diet Coke also and I thought I would have problems dropping it because of the Caf. but because of my hubbies tummy problems we started drinking caf-free Diet Coke and I haven't had problems. I just like the bubbly taste of Diet Coke.
