I saw this ad. I was really tripping. How you gon (that's going to) wear a thong and a pad? There's just room for too many embarassing accidents.

Think of how excruciating it is when some of the adhesive sticks to any part of your skin, let alone...

I agree. Just go tampons or wear the granny panties. Stay yo a$$ from the club and wait the 5-7 days until it's safe. It's that simple.

Remember the brand "Instead"? They were the little cups that would "catch" the fluid before it "got out." They are off the market now and I can only imagine why.

I know there are plenty of moments during that time of month that I just feel the urge to wear ass-splitting, barely there panties......NOT!!! What was this company thinking? You have to be REALLY CONFIDENT to wear a thong during your period! All the feminine protection in the world won't help yo a$$ if you're wearing a dang thong during your cycle (Mocha shaking her head)
I mean maybe it's just me, but I don't feel particularly sexy during this special time of month. Truth be told, I prefer those big "Grandma panties" myself.

I dont know if this is the same product (I haven't seen the commercials), but I found a pantiliner made by Always. It is in a lavender box. I think that it is about time that someone made a liner for thongs, but when you are on your cycle, PLEASE LADIES, WEAR A TAMPON, INSTEAD, OR A REGULAR MAXIPAD!! I think that if someone wears a thong while on the cycle-fine. But to use a maxipad INSIDE the thong?? To me, that is a bit gross.

Ladies, now come ON. The menstural cycle is something that happens, and all of us take the necessary precautions to prevent "accidents". But how can one prevent accidents by wearing a thong? And WHERE is this pad supposed to fit on the thong, anyway? And isn't the purpose of wearing a thong supposed to make you feel sexy? (besides not showing panty lines). I don't know about anyone else, but I DO NOT feel sexy when I'm all cramped up and bloated.

ROFLMAO about this one -- Sorry -- I didn't mean to come barging in on the topic. I was really here to post about the ivy leaves I saw in a catalog, but this really struck me! I think enough has been said on the topic that covers my opinion -- BUT -- have you seen the new Tampax commercial? The one where its the compact tampon, and they leave the guy alone in the room and he starts playing with it -- at the end he pops the inside out and its just hanging there -- gross! My hubby is like -- hello? Do they really need some help in their advertising department or what?

Anyway, it was along the same lines (no pun intended) and thought that I'd share.

Actually I just saw some "Instead Cups" at the CVS by my job. Ever heard of "The Keeper"? They have a web site (seriously): www.thekeeper.com or something like that. But it works the same as the instead cup (like a tampon, but no TSS) [b]EXCETP[B] you don't throw it away...you [i]rinse[i] it out. I think it's about time somebody came up w/ something besides pads and tampons, but I'm not so sure that this is the "something" I was looking for! Although the info on the web page about tampons (and my mothers voice telling me they cause death http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif ) did make me pause...
Granted Aunt Flo' is here to stay, but good grief, do you really [b]need[b] to wear a thong when she comes to visit???

The thing that grosses me out about INSTEAD is...
1) it's a plastic looking cup (kinda resembles Today's Sponge-if you remember what that looks like)
2) it is held up by your vaginal walls
3) when you cough/sneeze/laugh, if the cup is full, then the liquid will run out due to the pressure....HOW SICK IS THAT????
4) if I'm not mistaken, you re-use it.

That's just my opinion.....

Surprisingly, both of the last two products (Instead Cups and The Keeper) were created by women. I was talking to my nana about this, and after she cracked up laughing, she reminded me that since the dawn of time many women either spent their "time w/ aunt Flo" in special shelters, away from everyone else in the community, many cultures viewed (some still do) the visit from "Aunt Flo" (that's just what we call it http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif) as sacred and not at all as a burden like we do now, and that before the invention of the maxi pad, women had to use cloths, like wash cloths, and unless you were white/rich you rinsed them out, and used them throughout the year. interesting...
