Favorite Alcohol and Drinks!

My favorite alcohols are definitely Vodka and Beer. My favorite drinks are Vodka-Tonics and all sorts of yummy Martinis!!!

Kristin AGD 11-13-2003 01:11 PM

VODKA is my drink of choice.

I have an affinity for Grey Goose or Belvedere Cosmopolitans. :D

aephi alum 11-13-2003 01:49 PM

Martinis are your friend. Repeat after me: "A very dry Tanqueray martini straight up with a twist." ;) (Olives = blecch!)

My other favorites are Absolut Citron and tonic (very refreshing on a hot day), cognac/armagnac, and scotch.

ZTAngel 11-13-2003 01:58 PM

I'm a lightweight and I don't like the taste of alcohol.

My favorite alcohol is Parrot Bay. It goes down easy when taking a shot.

My favorite mix drink is either an Amaretto Sour or a Long Island Ice Tea.

wreckingcrew 11-13-2003 02:14 PM

Ohhhh, somebody get me some Crown Royal up in here.

C & C baby, the way to go.

When i'm not drinkin that, i'm drinking the official whiskEy of Sigma Nu, Jim Beam.

You don't like the taste of alcohol, yet one of your favorite drinks is Long Island Iced Tea? lol...hmm.

My favorite mixed drinks are long islands and kamikazes.

Stand alone alcohol, gotta go with 151 and Ciclon.

Strange. I know. Especially considering that Long Islands are made entirely from alcohol. But, with them all mixed together, they don't make me wince or gag. It tastes really good!

My favorites are Tokyo Teas (just like a Long Island, but substitute Midori for Coke) and Courvoisier/Amaretto/Crans...I like to call em CACs. :)

Good Choices :)

If you are a lightweight, Parrot Bay & Malibu are the best rums for you. They have much less alcohol in them. I believe Parrot Bay is 24%, while Malibu is 21%. Most rums are 35%. So you can be social while not going down earlier than everyone else. Try a Malibu Bay Breeze, it is very good.

CatStarESP4 11-13-2003 02:53 PM

I like the Apple Martini, Venitian Sunset (Olive Garden), Almond Joy (a drink I had during the train ride to the Grand Canyon -- our attendants nicknamed it the Slim Fast) and Sakura (plum wine and coconut milk -- from a Japanese restaurant in Queens).

I also like Grand Marnier (I used to bake cookies and brownies with it), Bailey's, Chambord, Frangelico, Kahlua and Jim Beam (I made a chocolate pudding cake and sauce with this one -- Yum!).

I posit that going down early is a TRUE sign of being social ;)

beer/cider - magic hat #9, ace pear cider

mixed drinks/shots- stoli & pineapple, vanilla stoli & diet coke, soco & lime

Anchorgirl 11-13-2003 03:47 PM

Favorite drinks:

Non alcoholic - chocolate milkshakes!

Alcoholic - Danzka vodka with cranberry....I think I've mentioned this before on this board. Has anyone tried them yet....they are fab!

Favorite shots - Dirty Girl Scout, Stoplight (3 shot combo of kamikazi, alabama slammer, and melonball)

sigtau305 11-13-2003 09:47 PM

Alcohol/Mixed Drinks: Jager Bombs, Absolute and O.J., Barcardi Rum and Coke, and the famous "Dr. Pepper" drink

Best Shot to Drink: Jack Daniels and Jim Beam

librasoul22 11-13-2003 09:59 PM

As far as shots go, my favorite would have to be the Burning Atlanta which consists of Jager and 151.

Betarulz! 11-13-2003 11:56 PM

As for shots...right now I'm a big fan of Jaeger Bombers - Jaeg and Red Bull. In the right proportions it tastes most excellent, too much red bull is bad though. Plus it's great for that point in the party when you've been knocking back a few and start to get tired. Nice little kick of energy there!

Beer: Practically any Boulevard Beer...it's a KC regional brewery that rocks real good. They have 4 beers they produce all year round: Unfiltered Wheat, Pale Ale, Dry Stout, and Bully! Porter, and then 4 seasonal beers that rotated through out the year. If your in the midwest and you see these available give them a try.

I totally forgot about Kamikazi shots....brings back memories of that 24 year old guy when I was a freshman who dated me and then dated my best friend a year later.......

(sorry if this is completely random....)

OMG, I tried Boulevard for the first time while in Nebraska and I fell in love with it right away.

We in Hawaii are truly deprived.

Vodka sprite, midori sour, sex on the beach

SAEalumnus 11-14-2003 01:22 AM

Depending on what kind of drink you mean...

My favorites are as follows:

mixed drink: Long Island Iced Tea

beer: Guinness (served at St. James Gate, Dublin, Ireland)

Buttonz 11-16-2003 06:29 PM

I'm not a drinker, but I like Amaretto Sour's when I drink

annniesk 11-17-2003 12:17 AM

So sad, no one has mentioned my personal favorites: white/black russians (depending on my mood). Vodka and Kahlua (white russians have milk). They taste just like chocolate milk. Oh so good!

EagleChick19 11-17-2003 12:22 AM

Beer: Yuengling
Mixed Drink : Rum & Coke, Sex on the Beach, Long Island Iced Teas.
Shots: Snakebites

sigmagrrl 11-17-2003 09:18 AM

* Ice Cream Sandwiches, Frozen Mudslides, and Strawberry Shortcakes from TGI Friday's

* Mango Iced Tea w/ extra syrup (non-alcoholic) from Pizzeria Uno's

* Margaritas on the rocks with SUGAR on the rim

As you can see, I like sweet & fruity or ice creamy drinks!!!

mullet81 11-17-2003 12:09 PM

You guys are making me crave happy hour and it is only Tuesday morning!!

FAB*SpiceySpice 11-18-2003 12:13 PM

The only liquor my stomach can really handle on it's own is rum. Otherwise it's gotta be mixed up in a drink.

My favorite drink is called a brain freezer, it is frozen lemonade with gin, vodka, and rum in it. Sounds strange, but it's soooo good. I also love Cherry Bombs and Sweet Tarts from the same place. Man all of you guys who don't have Trops are soooooo missing out! Jules can vouch for that, it's amazing! :D

bethany1982 11-18-2003 12:14 PM

Tequila and tequila... a great mixture!

I'm not busy today. If you are in New York, we can meet up for drinks before noon.

GeekyPenguin 11-18-2003 12:29 PM

This is assuming that 21yearold Kathleen is writing this thread from the future as I certainly have never consumed any alcohol.

Non-alcoholic: Dole Paradise Blend juice, hot chocolate with raspberry flavoring, chai tea

Beer: I hate all beer with a passion - one sip and I feel queasy. I once finished two bottles of BerryWeiss as an attempt to learn to like beer - it took me an HOUR.

Mixed: Long Islands with Coke (no other mixer will do), cranberry vodkas, Amaretto stone sours

Shots: Hot Sex because it tastes like candy, and this is showing how cheap we were my freshman year - I did shots of LI mix to pregame before going out because it got you buzzing pretty quickly and I actually like the taste. :p

Ok so I was at Bennigans the other day and they had a death by choc. martini on their menu. I thought it would be pretty good, but I didn't remember to write down what it had in it, anyone know?

I'm not sure what's in the Bennigan's recipe, but when I've had chocolate martinis, they usually have some combination of Godiva chocolate liqueur, vodka, and possibly something else... with a Hershey's kiss instead of an olive. I find them too sweet...

The something else would be Bailey's :D I believe they use Vanilla Twist Vodka as well. Good Stuff!
(to sum it up the three ingredients are Vanilla Twist Vodka, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Godiva Chocolate Liqueur)

A good sight to look up most cocktails would be http://www.fridays.com/mixology.html

You can look it up by drink type, liquors in the drink, or by name.
No chocolate martini though...

PhiPsiRuss 11-18-2003 06:52 PM

I'll take chocolate over alcohol any day. Now that I think back to may days as an undergrad at FSU, I used to wash down brownies with beer. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.
