Tall (Knee High) Boots
So I've got a few things I'll have to dress nicely for coming this winter, and I'm thinking about biting the bullet and buying a pair of tall boots.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not sure how much I'm willing to spend and I'll most likely need something with a fuller calf. I'm willing to spend more if they're a great pair of boots, but if anyone has cheapies they're happy with, I'd like to know too! |
WOW
Kinky!
Would love to see you in them!:) What happened to rubber golahases? Leather in snow, ice, and salt!:( Bad Idea!:) |
I also have wide calves (damn genetics), the best boots I've been able to find have been from L.L Bean, they have a medium heel. There's another brand that have really cute boots for fuller calves, but I can't remember it, if I do I'll PM you :)

Those kinds of boots dont look right on us short people....... |
NO!!!!!!!!!

I went to Nordstroms this past weekend and bought the cutest red knee high boots. The heel is very high and skinny and the toe area is nice and pointy. Love them.

what? |
Yeah...if you're not that tall, calf-length boots may not look very well. Try a pair on before you buy. If you decide to purchase a pair, get some with regular soles (not platforms) and a medium heel...you do want to wear them to other places besides clubs. I love mine...they keep my legs warmer in the winter and I can still wear skirts. :)
|
I also have a pair or knee high boots that I got from Nordstrom's.
I call them my "CFM Boots" ;) Mwahahaha. |
Get a pair of redwings damnit...

Yeah, 5'4" isn't really short. In fact, it's the average height for a woman. But what can I say? At 5'5", I still am shorter than most people in my family, and almost a good foot shorter than Dude.
I would suggest spending more on better boots with a genuine leather upper--especially if you're going to be some place where it snows a lot. Salt is hell on pleather. :p My knee-high boots have about a 2" heel, and I wear them everywhere. They look fierce w/ long skirts :) |
I have an awesome pair of knee high boots that i got from Nine West. They have a little heal on them maybe like 2 inches or so but theyre great I love em!!!
Nichole |
Knee high is ok. Anything above the knee screams "Julia Roberts playing a Hooker w/ a heart in Pretty Woman".
|
*whew* Talking about these boots made me all wanna-be-shopping....so..I talked my Dad into buying those boots I posted on here for me...
They come in on Friday!! *whee* |
|
I have some black knee high boots that have about a 2 1/2-3 inch heel. I love them!!!
|
I have a pair of black ones from Payless of all places. They're about 2 years old but they're still in great condition. They don't have the super pointy toe (which looks like elf feet IMO) or a stiletto heel, so they're fairly practical for every day.
I have a brown pair that I won at a grand opening of a shoe store. I haven't worn them yet - its been in the 80s down here for months |
Sounds great... my basic recommendation is please, please please get a pointy-toed or at least moderately pointy-toed pair... I am sooooooo over and hate hate hate hate knee highs with rounded toes!!!! LOL. :p
|
I just got a really cute pair of Naturalizer ones that come in wider calf - they've got about a 1.5" heel and look super cute with skirts! I got mine on a huge sale so they were only $75! :)
|
I never thought about them looking funny since I'm short. I guess I'll just have to dedicate Saturday as boot day and go crazy trying a bunch on. I agree with the "pointy toe" thing, the ones pictured on here have both a heel and a toe that are agreeable.

I have had luck with Nine West and also the Shoe Department. The Shoe Department is much cheaper than Nine West and I like and wear both boots. You might also try a DSW or a Rackroom if you have either of those stores near you.

Every single guy will think hooker boots or CFM boots. Plus if you have horse legs you can hide some of that growth with these bad boys.

knee high boots with long skirts...i'm sure it looks cute but i just can't picture it! i'm all about my ankle-high boots woo!
i have a pair of knee high boots...but they're black leather and they lace up. they're hot, but they're definately of the hooker/CFM variety. these boots, however, are classy. not all knee high boots = kinky, tom! |
This thread is blasphemous. Short girls are hot and tall boots are hot so therefore short girls with tall boots must = hot. Otherwise god will be contradicted and existence will anihiliated.
|
I am short and have MUCHO MUCHO trouble finding boots that fit me.... maybe it's my dancer's dalves... but I think also it's just the proportions of the boots are made for taller people so the skinny part of the boot still hits at the big part of my calf.... plus tall boots make short girls look shorter.... so I've just about given up on my dream of tall boots and skirts..... I'll have to deal with mid calf length boots and be happy I think... == sigh ==

Look around on eBay, I found a really cute pair of black boots on there that I am going to buy. :)
|
I got a GREAT pair of black knee high boots at Burlington Coat Factory last year. There were only $30 and I love them. They don't have much of a heel but for $30, I didn't care. Now I am on the prowl for brown knee high boots. And I am 5 ft tall and I think they work but you do have to have the right kind of skirt!
