absolutuscchick 11-09-2003 09:45 PM

I have no idea as of yet!! Hopefully something....

swissmiss04 11-09-2003 10:00 PM

I'll probably be whooping it up at the Pyramids of Giza (yeah as in Egypt) seeing one of the coolest fireworks displays in the world.

lifesaver 11-09-2003 11:49 PM

Going to Acuna again, I think.

Actually no, I realized what a dumb statement that was after I posted it.....but one of my good friends (who I consider an amazing DJ) might be coming with me to promo a party in STL, therefore wherever he goes, I wanna be!

Although, there are rumors of Timo Maas being in Chicago, in which case I wouldn't know what to do with myself :D

cashmoney 11-10-2003 01:18 AM

Well, if your friend is as big as Timo Mass....I would know him and probably tell you which one would be better. But, if he's not as big as him.....you'd be crazy if you didnt go.

Hootie 11-10-2003 01:21 AM

I never know what I'm doing for New Years Eve until the day before or the day of. So many parties, so little time.;)

polarpi 11-10-2003 01:48 AM

Spending time with the parents and family friends...yippee! :D ;)

But....I'm hoping to spend NYD at Disneyland!

Late dinner at home with Mr. KR after we put the Killarney Buds to bed. Relaxing, and nice :)

breathesgelatin 11-10-2003 02:46 AM

Most likely big fat nothing.

FAB*SpiceySpice 11-10-2003 04:20 AM

steelepike 11-10-2003 04:36 AM

i don't know

smiley21 11-10-2003 06:02 AM

considering that i slept through the last two, and will have too work early again on new year's day, i will be doing nothing. it sucks having to work on new year's cause people are sleeping in. but at least i get paid time and a half:)

1savvydiva 11-10-2003 06:52 AM

I will be ringing in the new year here at work (an ER)...probably with some snotty ass little kid sneezing on me while I'm simultaneously getting serenaded by some drunk and getting berated by some old lady about why she's been waiting so long. Yeah..., bring on the good times.

DeltAlum 11-10-2003 12:33 PM

Staying off the roads and away from the amateur drinker/drivers.

MereMere21 11-10-2003 12:40 PM

most likely patching up the drunken idiots since I'm swinging a shift that night - oh lucky me!

damn double incentive plus time and a half for working holidays, just can't resist!

mullet81 11-10-2003 12:44 PM

i'll be in VEGAS baby :)

A bunch of my girlfriends are heading there december 27th for a week to party it up and celebrate :) I can't wait!

OrigamiTulip 11-10-2003 12:44 PM

Hopefully having a quiet evening at home. Mr. BetaRose usually has to work on NYE and NYD, so, we don't do much.

Many years ago, I asked a guy I knew who was an alcoholic what his NYE plans were. He said he never, ever went out of NYE or St. Patrick's Day, since they were for amateurs.

It's been an early dinner out and cuddling at home ever since!

ThetaPrincess24 11-10-2003 01:12 PM

There will be a party somewhere for sure that i'll be at, as to where it's too soon to tell. I wont be kissing anyone though when the clock strikes 12...for a fact.

Yea right!;)

moe.ron 11-10-2003 01:57 PM

will figure out the day before, as always.

decadence 11-10-2003 02:06 PM

One thing I'm NOT gonna do is work.
I worked in a bar in NYE '99. It sucked; I got paid a lot of money (3 figure sum) but it was crappy watching everyone else having a good time. Woulda been better off staying @ home than that! :)

CatStarESP4 11-10-2003 03:47 PM

I am not sure what I will be doing on New Year's Eve, but I do know that I will be in Miami.

I am gonna get hammered, and have a great time... and then the next day, when I am hung over, I will watch the extended editions of the LOTR movies, and go to Return of the King later that night. BTW, it is only 8 days until the Extended Editon of Two Towers is released... Hells Yeah...

damasa 11-10-2003 05:03 PM

I'll be heading to the big and bad NY.

GeekyPenguin 11-10-2003 05:35 PM

Watching all my high school friends make out with their high school boyfriends - ETCH!!!

Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Eating a good meal before getting smashed defeats the purpose of getting smashed. You have to drink more TO get smashed. Why not just eat afterwards?

Because we are not in college anymore, we don't need to party like rock stars, tho we do sometimes. :) And because we enjoy good meals and the wine accompanying it.

In short, its not a drink till you pass out party. Its a festive dinner party with a lot of alcohol accompanying the food. Each couple is responsible for a different course of the meal.

cashmoney 11-10-2003 06:46 PM

Oh believe me......I'm all about enjoying good wine and good food....if you only knew how I am about that you'd think I'm a fat kid deep down. I appreciate good food and good wine, especially good cheese and seafood with wine. Some of the people on GC know how much of a wine fanatic I am. In any case, I get the picture. I'm just used to getting crazy for NYE. I've calmed down tons from what I was like over a year ago. I don't really drink liqour that much anymore unless I'm going out to a club. I drink wine more than anything if I'm going to drink outside of a club (but I wont drink it in a bar, people think you're gay unless you're at a wine/cigar bar.)

Pink&Blue 11-10-2003 06:50 PM

:) I just don't like being out and about on NYE. I'd rather have a really fun, smallish party with good friends. Casual, where anything goes and we're all up until sunrise being silly. THAT seems like so much more fun to me at this stage of my life than being out at some huge party/club/rave with a bunch of people I don't know.

:)Now, just have to come up with the menu for that night!

ZTAngel 11-10-2003 06:51 PM

Haven't decided. I'll probably either go to downtown Orlando or South Beach (if I have the money). This year should be fun. NYE 2001, I wasn't 21 and Mr. Angel was so we ended up at the Kappa Sig house instead of partying it up downtown. It was fun but not as much fun as sipping champagne in some downtown building. :) Last year, I was on a cruise with my family. So, this year, we plan on making up for the NYEs that we couldn't go out and have a good time!

Anything goes till the sunrises? Hahaha!;) Right on girlie, I like those smallish parties too. I started having those about 3 yrs ago. There's maybe 4-7 couples total? I guess I like going out to those huge things on NYE because usually whevever I'm going either I know a lot of people there, or the girl I'm with knows a lot of people there. But I do know what you're saying about the smallish parties at the house. I really like going and doing that within our circle of friends rather than going to crazy clubs and getting hammered as though I was 18/19 yrs old again. In my view all that really is is just one of my after parties from back in the day, only now they start at 11pm instead of 3am or 4am. We just skip going out to the club/party/rave. I am, however, not on your level yet. I still like getting out of the house and going out to some degree. I still love DJing. I just don't like getting FUBAR out in public anymore.

That sounds fun! I love good food and more good wine to go with it among pals :)
