When is it going to end?
Vibe Awards, Source Awards, BET Awards, Soul Train Awards, Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards . . . all of them, the same awards, the same people, the same mess, the same gawdy clothes, the same shout-outs . . . ugh!! I won't be watching. BET/UPN = same thing.

CTFU. CTFU. CTFU. But I agree with the rolleyes. I kind of doubt that being a "video vixen" requires any sort of acting talent. |
Proud to say...
One of the video vixens (LaShonte Heckard) is my cousin. Not trying to sound bias but she’s an honor student in college and she’s also in the military. Tae is a sweet and intelligent young lady who has a lot of respect for herself (trust me my uncle doesn’t play). Not only was she in the Busta video she was also featured in both of Dru Hill’s latest videos.

I thought the Council of Presidents were supposed to be boycotting BET (that's all of the BGLO presidents if you don't know) What happened to that?? |
The AWARDS are not on BET; they are on UPN.

UHH First and foremost I'd like to thank God...because without him none of this would be possible  I wanna thank the producers for allowing me to be a positive role model for all the young women out there  |
Of course, she is going to start off thanking God and then she is going to thank her parents and all of the people that helped her get to the pinnacle of the video world. Pathetic.

By Gail Mitchell LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - 50 Cent scored three awards at the inaugural Vibe Awards Thursday night, receiving statuettes for artist of the year, dopest album ("Get Rich or Die Tryin"') and hottest hook ("In Da Club"). The rapper headed a winners' circle that included double honorees Beyonce Knowles (news) and Jay-Z. Beyonce was named most stylish, while she and Jay-Z earned kudos for coolest collaboration ("Crazy in Love"). Jay-Z also received the TuBig Award. One of the evening's four special presentations, the award honors the legacy of late rappers Tupac Shakur (news) and Biggie "The Notorious B.I.G." Smalls. Pharrell Williams, who led the field with five nominations, took home the tightest team players award for his work with partner Chad Hugo in N*E*R*D and the Neptunes. Winner of the "next" award for new artists was Joe Budden, while Missy Elliott claimed reelest video with "Work It." PHOTO COMMENTS
1. A.J. Johnson is really cut! I may need to cop that workout DVD that she has out. It is amazing that all of these women no longer look like the "typical" 30+ year old. I know that she is up there in age. Regina King looks nice also.
2. What the HAYLE does 3LW have on? 3. Kimora Lee Simmons is my girl. 4. Diddy will ALWAYS win the fashion award HANDS DOWN! 5. Eve looks like a bootleg majorette in that outfit. Her fashion sense is horrible most of the time. 6. Andre 3000 DEFINITELY deserves to play the role of Jimi Hendrix. He has that look down pat. 7. Shanice doesn't have to do anything else besides bust out all of Flex's babies, huh? They look happy. They seem to be the real thing, like Will and Jada. *walking off singing "I Love Your Smile! Do-do-do-do-do-doodle-do....* |

Only saw a coupla minutes of the show, but I'm looking at these pix and I have a few comments...
Now, HOW in the WORLD did these girls look inthe mirror and think to themselves, "Hey, we look GREAT?" They need to fire their fashion consultant, cuz these outfits are GARBAGE!! http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...0031121jpg.jpg And A.J Johnson is looking great, but it's a lil' much for me, personally. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...0031121jpg.jpg Queen L looks beautiful, I think http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...ds_cacp108.jpg WTH??? I mean, I like both their music, and I think they're both talented young ladies, but the outfit choices are "funky", to say the least! http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...ds_cacp106.jpg Aww, black love...Isn't it great?? They look so happy!! http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...ds_cacp103.jpg OK, guys, I'm sorry if this took too much space! |

Queen Latifah looks very nice, although her gear is a lil' bit peasant/rocker chick for me. I'm glad that she looks a solid 14-16 or so. I can relate.

Thanks RD. She was worried about my Grandmothers reaction to the Busta Video (the Jacuzzi scene) but after my Grandmother was like "all they showed was your back" she was ok. She didn't win. The lady from Jay-Z's "Excuse Me Miss" won. Thinking back she didn't have all her T & A hanging out either. |

Not that I am in favor of someone winning an award for "appearing" in a video, but i have to make one point. Some of these women did not shake anything in the video. They were just the female featured. |
