Did any of y'all watch this last night!? I'm embarrassed to admit that I did, but I'm a reality show junkie and I just can't help it!

Anyways, the look on her face when the first guy got off of the bus was priceless! The way she tried to cover it up...my cousin and I were laughing our butts off! I'm really curious to see how this one turns out!

I watched Joe Schmo.......that was funny.

I also watched Joe Schmo. I thought it was ok for mindless reality TV.

Joe Schmo was pretty good until the end when it got Sappy. I wanted to watch average Joe but totally forgot BUMMER

I can't believe the guy started crying on natonal TV when he found out a show was all about him. He must have never of gotten attention from mommy and daddy when he was little. If I was him I woulda been licking all that chocolate off of the blonde chick and let a couple of my fingers get some stinky pinky.

I saw it. It was pretty good.

I saw Average Joe last night. I somehow managed to slip that into my schedule! I actually liked it!

I thought she did a good job of annalyzing why it was that she was there though! Seriously, she said so herself, "Looks don't matter that much, it's personality." Well she got what she'd asked for and I think she made the best of it.

I thought it was also very interesting that out of the 4 guys she eliminated, most of them were the "more attractive" of the group (looks wise). I thought a few of them seemed pretty cocky and arrogant though so I'm glad she saw through that right away.

I think this show is bound to show us how conceeded we are when it comes to looks, and that we should look for what's on the inside more than the outside (cuz lord knows beauty fades).

if u read the disclaimers, one of which said partcipants may have been consulted by producers on their selection of who would be voted off or something to those words. Also noticed that it said some participants were paid for there time on the show. Makes ya think. :confused:

I was thinking the same thing... Considering she got rid of the some of the nicer, normal guys. And she kept quite a few "troublemakers"

I saw that too, and it did make me wonder!

Hootie: I'm right there with ya! I was surprised at a couple of the more 'normal' of the group getting the ditch. I think we may all be in for a surprise of sorts. It could all just be some silly 'moral' lesson in the end! LOL

They interviewed two of the guys she dismissed today on ET or some similar show. They actually looked a lot better today than last night. I also noticed that last night some shots of the guys made them look very splotchy on the face...then on some of their camera shots they looked better.

I caught the "participants consulted the producers..." part. I know reality shows are rigged, but that took ALL the fun out of it!

I wasn't going to watch, but I found myself on the channel, I just wanted to see her reactions to the guys coming out of the car. That one guy reminds me so much of that main guy from Revenge of the Nerds. I would have cut some of the other guys instead of the ones she did cut.

Don't you think this might be a little set up for her fall in love with some regular guy?!

As terrible as this is about to sound, I wonder if she kept the ones she kept out of fear of looking like she was racist, against larger men, etc. I mean, I HATED the Indian guy, not because he was Indian, but because he was so arrogant and what a stupid question to ask, "do you like brocolli." But I can see the producers telling her to be very cognizant of how it would look if she eliminated any of the minorities or the very blantant over weight men regardless of their personalities.

What about the guy who asked her if she like brocalli?!:confused: He is a huge skectchball!! Very werid.

I also thing the twist later on will be bringing on hotter guys for her selection.:confused:

BUT she did say on the previews that there were four guys she was really torn over so i guess it does prove that looks may not matter.

I admit...I was cracking up. She kept simpering about personality being more important than looks, and well...she got what she asked for! The look on that poor girl's face was priceless! For the most part (excluding the obnoxious, kind of cute guy & the professor), those guys seemed like so much fun, even if they weren't hot.

I totally thought about "Revenge of the Nerds" when I looked at that one guy....but was he Louis or Gilbert? :)

I thought the same thing! The guy's name on the Average Joe show is Dennis. He was sooooo nice- I would love NBC to do a series around him- to find him a girl. It just broke my heart when he had to go home.

BTW, that guy from Revenge of the Nerds also plays Lizzie McGuire's dad.

I KNEW he looked familiar!!

As for the show, last night was the first episode I've seen. It was rather interesting and rather hilarious. I so predicted the twist. When they said they would have a twist later in the show, I told my mom, "they are going to brink in 3 hot guys."

Anyways, are y'all still watching this? The three new guys that came in last night were NOT that cute...except for number 2! I think that it's really weird that Zach is probably the only handsome guy from the orginal set. He was right that he was, "The first of the seconds." What kind of competition is that? And, I don't want to sound shallow, but you may pick someone first based on their looks, but the personality will keep them there. I know that I have to be at least semi-attracted to someone physically! That's why my husband's a hottie! LOL!

I really liked guy #2 also. I think he is the only real competition to the average joe's.

Yep, guy #2, I think, is the only good looking new guy, although he appears to be short.

I agree- #2 was the cutest. #3 was too greasy or something! But did you see the look on her face when they came in? That was too funny!

I think that Adam guy who is left from the original set is the best bet.

Ok, is it me or are the new hotties kind of dumb? The only one that seemed to have any kind of a brain was eliminated. I *love* Adam! When he made the comment, "Yeah, at this point my mom would be selling me out. She'd say, 'Move Adam! I can't see his abs!'".....that just cracked me up. :)

I think the new guys are average joe's. They are all students. Not that being a student is bad. But if you are going on a show like this, you expect to be introduced to guys with careers. The new guys are like every other guy in any bar you go to.

Right now my favorite would be Adam too!:)

Oh, man! I missed it and forgot to set my VCR. What happened? Too bad it's not on MTV or they'd repeat it three times a day!

The basketball game between the "Geeks" and the "Chics" was good.

ok, my mom is obsessed with this show, and normally she hates stuff like that, so i was laughin......but i watched it with her the other nite.

can i say that ZACH needs the oust? what a freak.....all about some competition and that's it. lil adam....PRECIOUS. but i dunno, the dude she made out with (the non-"geek").....he shows promise, too.

glad she got rid of the guy that cried....puh-lease. too much emotional drama "i am more than just my looks". :rolleyes: barf. you may be, but you're also a lil....off. anyone remember the bachelor where they called the EMS on that girl who couldn't breathe after she was cut......OY. :eek:

Can I just say that I HATE Justin? If I were a guy, I would beat him up. Something about him just seems really condescending.

Yeah.. so just recently I started watching this show.. like the last three episodes..

but I cant believe that she didnt choose Adam...

that night where they had the romantic date was so sweet.. he went through all of that trouble to make it so nice..

UGh...she's so dumb. Her and Jason barely even talked...they were making out half the time. Oh, and what was up w/ him and those Lines!!!. Gimmie a break!!!

Obviously she has no brains. Good for Adam...he deserves so much better!!

I'm really stunned that she chose the dorky, wannabe weatherman over Adam. I think she must have some sort of mental handicapped which has gone by unnoticed until now.

I don't blame her-its hard to ignore a physical attraction, but she had that with Adam too. Oh well. May Melana & Jason live happily ever after...w/Jason's parents.

Adam will come out of this smelling like a rose-he will find a hot woman who is his equal--from a success standpoint--and not just a pretty face.

The way she was looking at Jason, I thought she wasn't picking him... I was trying to figure out if they were pulling the split screen like For Love or Money or if they were going with the "whoever comes out of the limo first isn't the one picked" from Bachelor (yes, I watch too much reality TV)... while I liked Adam, I didn't see a lot of chemistry there-- more of a friend vibe. She went with her physical attraction-- Jason. I was laughing at the end when she's like Jason has taught me so much about myself and has inspired me. I was like what has he inspired you to do???? I didn't get that impression, if anything I'd be inspired by Adam and his work ethic. I felt really bad for Adam, but I thought he was nothing but a class act esp. at the end.

My roommates and I were stunned as well. The three words we all said were "You superficial B****!!!!!!!"

I just found out that there's going to be an alum of Phi Sigma Pi on the next season of Average Joe -- his name is David, and he graduated from Southwest Missouri State. I'll be rooting for him!

She was an idiot to go with the pretty boy waiter. He'll probably dump her when he graduates from college. She proved that looks do matter over substance. I think they should do a reality dating show on Adam. He deserves a quality woman.

Wow......an NFL cheerleader and a waiter. Looks like they'll have to live on love until her Playboy offer comes in. :rolleyes:

Adam is the real winner in all of this. If Melana would pick Jason, who is dumb as a brick, because of physical attraction, then he doesn't need a girl like that.

It's one thing you are overlooking if you were watching and Melana said it best at the end. Adam was falling for her a lot harder than she was falling for him. It's better to let him go now than hurt him even worse in the long run. He'll land on his feet. BTW did you know she's the sister to Wes Scantlin, lead singer of Puddle of Mud?


As far as the new group in Paradise, I wonder how long will Carrot Top's long lost brunette brother last before getting the boot.

I watched this and when she picked "pretty boy" I had to turn it off. I didn't want to see Adam hurt.

Let's hope they don't have an "Average Jo-Ann". I would call a bookie and make a bet before the season opener.
