Greek Singles Sites?
 

Hey All,

I was wondering if any of you knew of any websites that were singles websites for Greeks like us? Just wondering!!!

Yeah, HotDamnImAPhiMu and I came up with that idea last night, but I don't know how to even begin desiging that site.....

So somebody come up with it, if it doesn't exist, because I wanna meet som e cute, single fraternity brothers ;-)

I would think that this would be fairly easy to do, all you would need to do is have any extra "field" where someone could put their fraternity/sorority affiliation(s).

All the replies before mine have been from girls. Why not start a thread on GC that has the title of singles or something to that effect? Then you can post your personal ad in it and if someone wants to respond they can p.m. you and if y'all click you could exchange e-mail addresses and then send a photo if that has not already been done. Just a suggestion which could be implemented quickly so all you good-looking sorority girls can find y'all's cute fraternity brothers.

Well I don't know about the reasons everybody else is single, but I'm definitely looking for cute brothers in the Philadelphia area.....

Haha - with the amount of girls on this topic, heck, I'll throw myself in the mix too. Single guy in the Pittsburgh area looking for single sisters ;-)

I'm not sure that this is the greatest idea. Singles sites have considerably more control and knowledge about their members. Personally, I wouldn't feel safe meeting someone on GC for a date. Group meetup situations are different, but this kind of has me nervous.

Actually singles sites reccomend the same rules anyone should follow -- meet in a public, well-lighted place, and other general rules of safety....

it's not like they run background checks on their members! Though if they did I'd sign up. At work like a month ago I made a joke to a guy about him being on probation and he goes, "well, *actually*....."

I think that a Greek Singles site should be a separate and entirely independent entity from Greek Chat.

Well yes, but

a) the Greek Nationals already HAVE their singles sites, so we'd just have to make sure it very clearly says "Social Greeks" and

b) there are crazies on every singles site, that's why you have to be careful always.

I've wondered about this also. I think maybe it would work if the website didn't ask you to specify which GLO you were in, just that you were indeed in one. That would avoid a whole lot of liability issues I'm sure. Plus some people might be looking for, say, casual sex, but wouldn't want to be like, hi, I'm a member of XYZ Sorority and I just want a one night stand! But of course once you got to know someone you could fill them in on your details if you want. If you had some sort of double blind email encryption thing, the member's privacy would be protected, and it really wouldn't be much more of a risk than any other singles sites. Plus it would be targeting a specific demographic with alot in common with eachother. I'm all for it, where do I sign up?

Maybe we need a decoy site for the crazies? For the lazy serial killer, you know.
