ADPi rap

I have heard that there is some guy who has recorded a rap song about the history of ADPi and I am trying to find it. If anybody has heard it, let me know.
Thanks and Pi Love,
Mary C

DJscrilla

I LOVE IT!! Thanks so much, that has definitely been set to the Eta Beta girls!

WLFEO 01-23-2004 04:34 PM

*Bump*

I just love this rap by $crilla & thought some sisters that are new to the board would like to hear it.

ADPiAkron 01-23-2004 04:41 PM

I am trying to listen to it...but the Media Player is taking forever to open it. Also can someone PM me the lyrics??? Thanks!

DJ $crilla mistake...

DJ Scrilla rocks my face off!

He did make one mistake though...

"Cuz they been holdin' it down since 51
of the 18th century..."

Um- we are the first and finest, but we were not founded before the U.S. (It's be awesome if we were, though!)

L&L,
A

ADPiAkron 01-23-2004 06:04 PM

OMG I just listened to it at home! How fun is that! My sister is an AXO and I must say theirs is awesome...its to the beat of Right Thurr!!

kennedy_ja 01-25-2004 11:13 AM

I LOVE this song! Thank you so much. I am an alumni but still see my sisters. I am totally going to surprise them at the next mixer or event that they have by playing this song!

vandy_violet 01-25-2004 11:57 AM

We used this for recruitment this year, and I love it....And then we found out KD and AXO did too. I know AXO's is to "Right Thurr" (we were both doing our raps on the lawn on Bid Day), but I can't figure out if our rap's beat was borrowed from anything. Two sisters and I also made up a cute dance to the chorus.

adpi*violet 01-26-2004 08:45 AM

That was way cool! The rap has the great beat of hiphop/rap songs without all the derogatory language most have in them. Nothing bad about ADPi at all!

honeychile 01-26-2004 09:52 AM

That is just too cool!! I'm not really into rap (that much, anyhow), but I really liked that!

Violets to DJ $crilla!!

I emailed him and he said it is from the song "Chooperstyle." Cannot find that anywhere though.

WLFEO 02-01-2004 08:08 PM

Did anyone else use this during FR? I think that's a fun idea!

HBADPi 02-01-2004 11:14 PM

I dont think Eta Beta used it during recruitment but I hear there are plans to use it for SAMS which is a lip singing and dance competition between pledge classes. I'll let you know once I hear anything.

AshleyPi 02-02-2004 01:24 AM

We're using it for FR during Showcase Night. I'll let ya'all know how it goes!

Does anyone have the lyrics to the Alpha Delta Pi rap song?

ASUADPi 02-18-2007 01:19 AM

I searched the net and I couldn't seem to find anything (off the bat) so I just played the song a bagillion times. LOL. I'm sure I messed up on words.

*Although the last time I checked the 18th century represented the 1700's and the 19th century represented the 1800's. Brianna is shrugging her shoulders at the mistake.

Maybe it's just me but when I was listening to the song and actually writing down the lyrics I was thinking "hmm some of these lyrics are kind of stupid". LOL. For the most part though, I enjoy the song and the lyrics. Only a couple I was like "okay that's kind of dumb but whatever". LOL

adpideltaup 02-18-2007 11:10 AM

Both Delta Kappa (Penn State) and Gamma Omicron (Susquehanna U) use this song in their recruitment- if the exact words are needed, PM me and I can get them for you.

i agree that its sometimes hard to understand what he's saying. my chapter used the rap for recruitment when i was a delta. i do know that its "they roll with diamond sisters so you know that they're glistening."

polarpi 02-19-2007 02:45 PM

Wow, maybe I got an "old" version of the lyrics - I was going through old PMs just now, and found these lyrics from DJ Scrilla himself :)

sdsuchelle 02-25-2007 02:04 AM

Can someone send me the mp3? I want to make a ringtone out of it!

ASUADPi 02-25-2007 10:07 AM

If you search DJ Scrilla online, go to his myspace page and you can download the rap to your phone. You type in your cell number and it will download. They even give instructions on to access it depending on your 1) phone and 2) plan (like verizon phones have a different set of instructions).

WLFEO 02-25-2007 08:07 PM

You just made my whole week! I am so glad you posted that info!!!

sdsuchelle 02-25-2007 11:27 PM

You are very welcome!

My phone's main ringtone is the rap now. :D It rang the other day and my students were "dancing" to it. Quite cute!
