"Rich Girls"

Anyone watching it tonight? It's taking the place of our beloved "Newlyweds"

Hootie 10-28-2003 05:08 PM

SWEET! Another stupid MTv Show for me to get addicted to!

I think this actually looks pretty good...unlike Camp Jim which disappointed me :(

MeLikey 10-29-2003 01:10 AM

I just saw it... they make stupid/funny comments too, though if I was on a reality TV show having my life taped all the time, you'd catch me saying stupid/funny things too. Jamie's prom date was such a bore!!!!!

Hootie 10-29-2003 01:20 AM

This show isn't half bad! Like they still live abnormal lives (cuz who gets a private shopping spree and a limo ride all over New York?)....but they're just like my 17 year-old sister.

WhirlwindTNX 10-29-2003 01:57 AM

Okay, I get they have lots of money, but why does the short one have a SERIOUS overbite!! This is America people, you shouldn't have teeth like that if you're rich! J/k But really, the teeth need to be fixed.

Hootie 10-29-2003 02:29 AM

Didn't you know? It's not posh to walk around with metal in your mouth  :p

Man I can't believe that the friend was so concerned about losing her virginity in front of the camera!

GeoffZ 10-29-2003 03:34 AM

I liked the show. At first, it was a little hard to tell them apart--the overbite helped though. Alot of parts had me laughing, like the random rabbit at the salon and Allie talking to the wrong person through the ladies room door. Jami saying that clothes should be free b/c they're a necessity was pretty good too. They seem to be rich but not snotty, i.e. treating the garbage man like they'd treat the sales girl at Prada.

smiley21 10-29-2003 08:37 AM

i missed it. i fell asleep at about 10:05 p.m. and i wanted to watch 'law and order: special victims unit' too

WhirlwindTNX 10-29-2003 11:38 AM

She has enough money to get the clear kind put on her mouth, they also can sand your teeth down. :D

lol This show is really priceless though. I think that guy Michael is a piece of work. Very much Cruel Intentions. He needs to be kicked to the curb.

Gina1201 10-29-2003 11:50 AM

The overbite helps me remember that she's Tommy Hilfiger's daughter. They have the same teeth, smile, etc.

Gurl, I said the same thing when I saw those choppers on her. LOL!!!! :D :D (Their teeth are that big!!!)

Neosoulchild 10-29-2003 02:19 PM

So who exactly is the Jamie chick. I know the one with the teeth is Tommy Hilfiger's daughter, but who is the other girl?

SigKapSmurf 10-29-2003 04:15 PM

I found it very intresting. It was amazng how much they spent on clothes, I wish I had the money to do that!

DeltaSigStan 10-29-2003 04:23 PM

Yay! More girls the whole world will wait for in anticipation to turn 18.

I'd definitely be a trophy husband.

I did some searching and apparently Jaime's father founded Innovation Luggage, whatever that is.

THUMBS DOWN

Oh my god! I cannot believe these girls. I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of this show at all, and I'm always addicted to MTV reality shows. This is not reality to me, it my be thier real lives but lets face it, its a dream to a lot of us.
I personally thought that they were both extremely rude. I understand that they have money but they went around flaunting it way to much. I loved the talk about the "stores" how they didnt trust people in them when it comes to shopping. Well i hate to say it but people do have to work for thier money its not just handed to them.

Oh and the line they say in the previews...We may be rich but it doesnt mean we are bad people...take a look at them.

I'm sorry if i may be harsh but i just got done watching it and i'm in complete shock.

xok85xo 10-29-2003 08:50 PM

thats interesting, i went to middle school w/the kid whose father owned innovation luggage, and his last name was not gleisher but maybe he had sold the company to him by then? i don't know. anyway, innovation luggage is a chain of luggage stores in the northeast

I didn't watch the show but I have a question...

[hijack]
People who go on The Real World, Survivor, etc are often looking for fame and riches and use these shows to get their name and face out there.

If you're already rich and famous(or at least a NY socialite), why would do one of these shows? I guess the Osbournes started the trend, but their show was genuinely funny, and I don't think any amount of editing could have made them look different than how they really act. Newlyweds and Rich Girls and the show that the Hiltons are doing just portray them as stupid brats...I just don't get it.

You're already filthy rich, live your life outside of the microscope.

ToBeSororityGrl 10-30-2003 12:54 PM

I enjoyed watching it. Not many of us in the world can go to the Prada stores and drop a couple thousand like nothing, or smoke and drink in front of our parents before the legal age, OR mention losing virginity that night and the mother just laugh it off. I for one, know NO one who lives like that so I enjoy watching the show just to see how another person lives

smiley21 10-30-2003 12:55 PM

the hilfiger daughter looks so much like tommy, its not even funny.

GeoffZ 11-05-2003 04:02 AM

The highlight of tonight's epiosode was watching Tommy Hilfiger dance...badly. Wow. What was up with Michael crying? Is riding the bus back home that bad? But I would have wanted to stay at the Hilfiger house too...and the estate in Mustique.

SATX*APhi 11-05-2003 10:08 AM

Was doing a search, and found this. Totally random, but
check this out. That's so not cool.

I feel bad for the poor girl. After becoming famous, people will try to dig up almost anything on you. So she had a stay weight-loss camp. Big deal.

Lil' Hannah 11-05-2003 11:13 AM

I'm very excited that they're going to Cape Cod next week. I'll have to watch to see some of my old stomping grounds.

WhirlwindTNX 11-05-2003 11:34 AM

What's wrong with her going to a weight loss camp? Even though it actually seems like all she had to do was grow into the chubbiness, if she did lose weight I'd be proud. Also, that is real. Going to a fat camp is real. There's nothing to be embarrassed about.

I agree. I know this might sound mean but I was CTFU when Michael was crying. They make live seem so melodramatic.

GinaD79 11-05-2003 12:51 PM

Pride

Does anyone else feel like Jamie has NO pride at all whatsoever? What was with her following Mike and his GF around? Mike's tears were definitely FAKE! He just didn't wanna ride the bus home! What a buncha babies!

About weight-loss camp, I don't believe it's anything to be ashamed of either.

krazy 11-05-2003 03:24 PM

I'll bust mike in the jaw. I run a fat-camp in my backyard. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Kitso, what do you have the big-boned kids do during PE? Do you let them play games too?

xo_kathy 11-05-2003 05:09 PM

I can't believe some of the stuff that comes out of these girls mouths - especially Jamie! "My friends are the most gifted people in the world. They are all going to be famous one day". OK - A) Being gifted does not make you famous! Many people who are famous are clearly not gifted and vise versa AND B)Your friends are rich - which does not mean they are gifted!

Also, if I had all that money, I sure as heck wouldn't have worn that atrocity that she called a prom dress! And it didn't even fit well! And just the way she acts - ugh! Goes to show money doesn't buy class...

Lil' Hannah 11-05-2003 05:14 PM

Was Jamie valedictorian of her class? Or maybe class president? She gave a speech at graduation. I liked when she was talking about famous people who were born on her birthday and she said "Benjamin Franklin, who invented the light bulb"

juniorgrrl 11-05-2003 05:18 PM

I love when Jamie says to that girl at the prom after party "who are you? I don't talk to people I don't know"

Yeah, you may treat the garbabe man the same as the girl from Prada but that was really bitchy.

I find people that feel the need to specify how they treat everyone equally are the ones that are the worst about it.

Ok I only watched one and that was the one that I saw and I thought the same thing about them

MeLikey 11-05-2003 06:52 PM

Okay, Michael crying... just made me laugh. He wasn't crying because he was hurt by his friend for not having room for him. He was crying because he didn't want to take the bus home! And Julia isn't even pretty! But that comment wasn't exactly the most considerate thing to say, comparing their bodies.

I think that the clip you are referring to was the editing. I don't think Jaime just randomly told that girl she couldn't talk to her b/c she didn't know her. But the funny thing about me thinking it's the editing is that Jaime is also one of the producers for the show. You would think.

juniorgrrl 11-06-2003 01:54 AM

Yeah, if Ally and Jaime are producers of the show, and this is the stuff they're leaving in...

they're not making themselves look very good.

DeltaSigStan 11-06-2003 06:43 AM

What are you all talking about?

They both say "just cause we're rich doesn't mean we're not good people."

They are good people...

to laugh at.

I think random blonde chick was camera whoring and Jamie was calling her out on it. Plus I think Jamie was kind of drunk.

Jamie's dress was a total nightmare and her hair....was not prom hair. Hated it.

Jamie's date and that Michael guy. How old are they anyways? I know both girls are 18 but, seriously those guys looked way too old to be hanging out with them. Even if they are rich.

aabby757 11-07-2003 01:31 PM

One thing I am confused about, and maybe I missed it but does Tommy's H's daughter live with him?

Are her parents divorced? Who raised her? How can parents not know their child is an honor student?

Very confused as to who lives with who and where.

Does anyone know?

lovelyivy84 11-07-2003 02:09 PM

I was lmao at them using the code word "coffee"

Yeah her date had like five glasses of "coffee" and that made him sick.
