Mad as Hell

Anybody out there just mad as hell about something and want to get it off their chest?

Tonight I rushed myself to Walmart's One hour photo lab to get some pics developed that I needed TONIGHT. Then I piddle and waste time in Walmart for an hour. When I go to pick up my pics they tell me I cant have my pictures because a belt broke in the machine, the manager was on his way to try to fix it, they didnt know if they had a spare in stock, and couldnt tell me what time tomorrow they would be ready. Then they told me not to worry cuz my pics would be free........well I'm still mad because I wanted and needed them TONIGHT!!!!!

So is anyone mad as hell about something and just want to let it out??

Imthachamp 10-23-2003 08:57 PM

nope.

This is just a little one, but what the heck...

I'm having a Halloween party for my kids and 36 of their friends tomorrow and I'm not even working with a caterer so I've been running ragged all week getting ready for this. This afternoon, three days after the RSVP date, I get a call from one of the kid's mom asking me if her brother can come too. I mean, if someone isn't invited doesn't that usually mean they're not supposed to come? But what could I do; I had to say yes. (well, I didn't HAVE to, but I wanted to preserve peace)

Thanks, I feel better :)

KillarneyRose 10-23-2003 09:31 PM

By the way, ThetaPrincess, you should have told them to run the film to another WalMart where the machine was working and then bring the prints back. There's got to be some good in a new WalMart appearing every time I turn around, right??

you're not kidding. one street down from me is a walmart. one street over in the other direction is a super walmart. the first walmart is being shut down and a new one is opening on my actual street. i also heard a rumor that a walmart grocery store is being built within five miles from me.

GLADLY!!!!

Ok, for starters my almost 2 year relationship ended! Second, of all my best guy friend that happens to also be my ex, I wrote him a feel good letter about all the reasons I was glad he was in my life. Anyway, someone opened the sealed envelope up and added things to it. Such as....."you're good in bed" - I DID NOT WRITE THAT!!!! So thats when it got back to my then boyfriend, who later accused me of writing it. FUN FUN! Lost two boys, as friend and boyfriend, in one week!

Oh Killarney, that's one of my pet peeves--parents, usually trashy ones, who bring siblings to my kids' parties! Often we have no warning so we're low on party bags and a couple of times, uninvited kids took bags meant for invited kids. Many times, the siblings are too young to appreciate the games or they're ill-behaved creeps.

That's why my children are going to Swiss boarding schools as soon as they can walk. Those little snots won't be bringing any of their friends home for me to take care of. They'll be too busy with latin lessons and skiing.

I hope our campus decs fall down tomorrow onto a certain someone. I spent as much time as I could with those stupid things before I just quit. And when I say quit I really did mean that, so that means I DON'T CARE ANYMORE AND I WILL NOT HELP YOU ANY LONGER!!! Why is that so hard to understand? :( Leave me alllloooonnnneee!!!!

I can't wait for homecoming to be over. It is madness at this school, utterly ridiculous and POINTLESS! Plus girls in my house think it's perfectly ok to act like dictators and treat your sisters like dirt, b/c it's homecoming after all, right? NO, not right!!! I can only handle being yelled at and disrespected so much before I ask for a blue form.

Like Stan, I *love* being a part of my org. My particular chapter however, now that's a different story.

Homecoming Week/Greek Week always brought out the worst in some when I was active. I remember that was the breaking point for me too. I was disgusted with how some of the girls talked and demanded things from/to one another. As a matter of fact I almost quit because of it. I voiced my concerns in a letter that used parts of our Chi Omega Symphony to express how some were not holding up our ideals. It really hit home and everyone begged me to stay.

I suppose I'd just had enough. As I'm sure you're at that point to! Perhaps what you should do is find something sacred to your chapter...that has your ideals, and at meeting remind the sisters why you ARE WHO YOU ARE!

Good Luck!

PM_Mama00 10-24-2003 01:30 AM

I duno if I can really say that I'm mad.

I'm kinda mad at God right now. My best friend's father went into critical condition a few weeks ago. He had double pneumonia, paralyzed in one leg, and he might've had a blood disease (in which he would have passed in the next few days) or leukemia. He got transferred to a better hospital. He had some illness that gets treated like leukemia.

Yesterday he passed away. I'm mad for my best friend's family. I'm mad that her father was taken at the age of 60. I'm mad that she couldn't spend more time with him. I'm mad at her and her two sisters won't have a father to walk them down the aisle at their weddings. I'm mad that he won't get to see her younger sister in all the plays and musicals that she's in, or see her graduate, or see her older sister graduate from med school. I'm mad that her mother now has to spend her nights alone. I'm mad at God for taking her father away.

And most of all, I'm mad that a lot of times my father and I argue and I'm sometimes mean and that I just keep thinking now that anytime this could happen to my family. And I'm mad that after 2 days I can finally shed the tears for my best friend and lil sis, that I've been holding in.

Hootie 10-24-2003 01:32 AM

:( :( :( :( :(

I'm Sorry PM Mama! HUGS ALL AROUND!

That's so sad! We don't appreciate the times we have until it's too late. I hope your friend is okay and able to come to terms with this soon!

I'm mad that our department got put into a new building that they didn't have the money to build proper parking for and some moron in the upper management forbade us from parking on the city streets around the building. So we have to park in the crappy lot across a very busy intersection which is under construction now and for the next two years.

I should not have to dodge speeding cars and earth movers to get into my building!!! (And especially not with a broken toe -- did I mention we have NO handicapped parking???)

Ugh.

How can they forbid you from parking on the city streets?? They belong to the CITY!!

Today I am mad that my boyfriend's mother wants to get rid of the dog because she's a pain. How do you get rid of a dog you have had for 11 years?? I understand that situations change and there come times where you have to give up a pet, but she's just decided that she doesn't like having a dog around. It's too messy - too much fur, the dog needs too much and whines too much. HELLO, if you feed the dog everytime she cries, she will continue to do just that!!!

Poor Sophie... we won't let you go!!!

Thanks, I needed to get that out!

Hi Munchkin :)
When you have Munchkinettes someday, you'll immediately recognize the "trashy" parents. They're the ones who never come to school open houses, don't bother getting their kids involved in after school activities, send the little ones to school with, um, crusty noses (eeew), lets them run unsupervised around the neighborhood and then expects the other parents to look after them and, as Carnation, insinuated, treat other childrens' parties as the opportunity for free babysitting for the entire brood

It's sad to watch those poor kids grow up because you know they'll probably end up like the parents :(

It's like people arent even parents any more. It's seems TV, friends, parents of friends, comupters and stupid gratuitous programs like 6 to 6 are the ones that raise kids these days.

I agree and it's ashame. Last nigth even when i was piddling around wasting time in walmart--i did get my pics back today and are posted on my photos site----this kid was in a cart screaming its head off, and the mom was jsut whispering to the kid to stop.

Here is my solution to this all too common problem that we've all seen:

Train your kids. Take them to the store with you at a time when its' not mandatory that you be there. As soon as they start acting up, you take them and go home. If they are getting a new toy and start whining for more than the one in their hand. The toy in their hand goes back on the shelf, they get no toys, and you go home. Soon they will learn if they whine they get nothing, nor do they get to go with mommy and daddy places. Oh and parents----pleaase dont undermine another parent in front of your child.......IF the fahter for example tells the kid to stop doing something, support the father whether you agree or not. If the child sees this, they will learn to go to the other parent to get their way all the time and you'll have an very spoiled and out of control child by the time they are 12!!!!!!!

Just my two cents, from my own observations, books i've read, and babysitting kiddies.

alsparky 10-24-2003 04:33 PM

Amen, ThetaPrincess!!!

My mother never allowed us to behave like that in public. There was always a small treat of some sort if we behaved when we were running errands and if we caused a scene anywhere, no treat. No exceptions. And if I remember correctly, if my brother acted up and I didn't, I still got my treat and he had to deal with the consequences of his behavior. And I have to say, I think we both turned out to be pretty decent human beings.

lovelyivy84 10-24-2003 04:48 PM

I am with you on this, but it all depends on how many kids the mom has got, and what kind of day she's having. My cousin has FOUR and while her kids by and large behave BEAUTIFULLY when we are in public, every once in awhile a cranky child who woke up too early from his nap will make that impossible. No tantrums (not since the first one was a baby) but just crying LOUDLY. You have TOO MUCH to worry about, you want the kid to SHUT UP and you just placate them.

I dont agree with it, but I do understand.

How many employees do you have? If you have enough, report them to the EEOC for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act which mandates handicap accessibility.

Very true..........lawsuit waiting to happen, and I'm suprised no one has complained.

I'm mad as hell because my mother allowed her dog to piss on my couch..........piss which has caused me to wash the couch cover twice in two days, has probably absorbed down itno the cushion, and they(my sister and mother) used one of my good bath towels to attempt to clean it up

Peaches-n-Cream 12-03-2003 07:49 PM

I guess I was raised as trashy. My sister and I are 14 months apart in age. If one of us received an invitation to a party and the other didn't, we weren't going. My mother didn't think that it was fair to divide us like that and made it very clear to everyone. My sister had a crusty nose and eyes due to her extensive allergies. She couldn't help it. My mother wasn't involved in school open houses for many years because she was too busy raising three daughters alone and going to law school.

On the plus side, we did behave well in public and have never been in a Walmart.

G8Ralphaxi 12-04-2003 05:34 AM

haha - all the posts about the whiny-trashy-crusty-nose kids are making me laugh. Man I am so glad that no one asks me to babysit anymore. Not sure whether that's because I'm older or no reasonable parent trusts their precious little ones with a law student...I'll admit that as a group law students are generally just bordering on psychopath. (My friend in med school had a little book when she was on psych rounds that listed all the many ways you can be crazy - I had fun diagnosing my classmates)

Back to whining though - I remember one (horribly!!!) spoiled little girl I used to babysit, and oh man she could whine! Would about burst your eardrums. "Iiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeee waaaaaaaaaaannnnt aaaaaaaaa....." She would whine even when it wasn't necessary - Yes! You can have a friggin' glass of water, geez!

So I just told her I had a hearing impairment and couldn't understand her when she whined - made up some mumbo-jumbo about it being "supersonic" and "too high frequency" for me to hear. She'd whine and I would ignore her - drove her nuts!

She'd eventually follow me around and come tap me and keep whining. I'd say, "What???! What did you say? I can't understand you! If you want something, you have to tell me in your quiet big-girl voice, ok?" Worked like a charm.

It was pretty funny once though when her mom was there, and the Little Princess whined at her, and then repeated what she said, very politely and matter-of-fact, looking at me. Mom was very confused. I just grinned. Serves her right, her mother was the reason that kid was such a whiner - let her get away with it.

Yea, well, I don't know whats wrong with me lately. Usually I'm up really early to go to the gym. Now I seem to have no energy, go to bed really late and today I slept till 11:40am. Thats pretty bad for me, usually I'm up at 6:00am to go to the gym. My birthday is coming up on the 10th and I'll be 24, I'm wondering if I'm just getting old.:(

P.S.- I'd be happy to be studying what you're studying at the school you're at. As for me, it looks like I'm going have to settle for going to school at Miami next Fall......if thats what I want to do. I'm still waiting to hear on the UF app.
