Ohio GC get together
 

I wouldn't mind doing one. right now, I'm thinking Christmas Break would be the best time.

Well, we tried on first one, but somehow apparantely didn't get it together.

I won't be a factor since I'm generally only back in Ohio once a year at OU Homecoming, however I do have a suggestion which you can take or leave.

It seems to me that Columbus is the obvious place to hold this. It is no more than a couple of hours from anyplace in the state.

If it is held in Cleveland, it's 3 or 4 hours from Cincinnati. The opposite is true.

Just seems to me that when your state is basically in the shape of a square, that the center of the square is the best place to get together.

Having nothing else to add, I'll slink off into the corner now.

Columbus, central location and about the same travel from all points of Ohio. From here depending on where in Columbus its an Hour and a Half for me. IF I was still a college gal down in Rio it would be about 2 I think. Sounds about right cause it was always a 3 and a half hour trip one way for me from school to home. Speaking of which Kayla if ya see this I have a great idea you need to tell our goofy sisters.

I'm down for it! Columbus is the obvious location I agree. I'm all for Christmas break too! School is crazy for me this semester since I'm graduating in May.

Seems Columbus is once again the place to Get together. I'm more into having here in C-town, but If the majority wants to have it in Columbus, I'll go along with it. I'll get my calendar for some dates during Christmas Break and we'll have a vote on it.

Looks like it going to be a 2 hour drive for us. :(

I'm all for Columbus because I live in Dublin (a suburb of it). Since we wanna meet some place somewhat small and at a central location, why not at Tuttle Crossing Mall? I have met many a people there by the rolling ball (gotta see it- it's really cool!) in the food court. Also, the mall isn't huge so people won't really get lost in it as opposed to if we met somewhere in Easton Town Center. What does everyone think?

I'm in! I'm in! Any weekend is good for me as long as we can do it later on a Sat. or on a Sun. I work Saturdays til 4:30, but can always get off earlier. It also takes me about 2hrs to get to Columbus so that's my two cents.
Also, UDZeta we can ride together if you'd like seeing as how I'd be two miles from you when we'd leave.

Sorry to crash your thread, but I just wanted to tell whoever is fretting about a two-hour drive to tha gathering that you definitely want to go anyway. I drove 4 hours to get to the Pittsburgh Greek Chat gathering and I had a fantastic time. It was definitely worth it! Think of it as a roadtrip :)

The 19th, 20th, and 21st are the best dates for me. My finals week is the week of the 12th, 13th, and 14th so it's a bit of an inconvenience. Yay for Ohio GC meeting! Somebody wanna get a tally as to who's coming as of thus far?

My Finals is on the 10th which is a wednesday evening. so far, loud chick say she can make on the weekend of the 19th. Can anyone else meet on these dates? I myself might make the trip but I need someone from my area to carpool it with me down to Columbus since I don't have a car.

I drive to Columbus to see friends all the time. The drive isn't the problem, it's my lack of job and income that is the issue. :( What can I say? I suck. :(

If you guys start planning something please don't do it the weekend of December 14th or January 10th. I am in another wedding out in Las Vegas on the 14th and their wedding is on Dec. 14th and their reception is going to be on Jan. 10th so I won't be around. :(

The weekend of the 19th isn't good for me cause we have our formal that weekend. So count etahannah and i out on that one. Finals are the week before so it'd be a great post-finals roadtrip.

So hmmm.....any other suggestions?

I live nowhere near Columbus, Ohio, but I just wanted to chime in that Columbus is DG Land and KKG Land (i.e. the EO's are there...woo hoo!). :D

And you're gonna come see me in Washington, DC in June-July 2004 when I am at DG Convention, riiiiiiight? ;)

Hey you know what though....Valentines weekend this year, we were in the middle of that huge blizzard and it was the same weekend as DGs Recruitment Seminar. I drove through the worst of it that sunday. We had women who had to stay at EO for a couple days before they could go anywhere.

Moral of the story.....
You can go anywhere if you are on a mission! ;)

I don't have a job yet so I'm not sure what my schedule will be. :(

I'm all for any weekend after the 19th, except January 10th (my mommy's birthday). Just gimme a "head's up" so I can call off work as soon as I start in a few weeks!
