GLO's that aren't represented at your school
I was thinking the other day that the choices of GLO's are really limited by where you go to school. I go to a small (approx 12,000 students) school and there are 5 NPC sororites, 6 IFC Fraternites (1 colony), and 9 NPHC frats/sors.
My question is: from talking to members on GC, what other GLO would you like to see represented at your school that is presently not. Our NPC sororities are Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Sigma Tau, Delta Zeta, Sigma Kappa , and Sigma Sigma Sigma. I think I would like to see a Delta Gamma or Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter at our school. (But I guess these are more "Big" School sororities) Our IFC fraternites are Alpha Kappa lambda,Sigma Nu, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Sigma Tau Gamma, Pi Kappa Alpha, and aPhi Sigma Kappa colony. I really don't know what other frat I would like to see... maybe TKE. I feel stupid for saying this but I really don't know much about the NPHC GLO's so I don't know what other groups I would like to see represented. Ashley |

1 fraternity - Delta Upsilon 1 sorority - Pi Beta Phi 1 professional co-ed fraternity (Veterinary Medicine) - Omega Tau Sigma (OTS is affiliated with the Ontario Veterinary College and keep to themselves) I would really like to see Kappa Alpha Theta and Beta Theta Pi come back to campus. They used to be at the university of Guelph but folded because of numbers. |
I think that for starters, we would all like to see our chapters return to campuses where they have folded for whatever reasons (since this has happened to us all at some point or another).
Where I used to attend at UK(where I still have ties) I'd like to see Alpha Chi Omega sorority start a chapter and Zeta Tau Alpha return to campus. Where I currently attend, overall enrollment in recruitment and the school are rising and I'd like to see Kappa Kappa Gamma and Delta Delta Delta there, and Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. I'd also like to congratulate Sigma Nu for chartering their colony at EKU this semester :) |

sororities: AOII, DZ, ZTA, AXiD, and PM fraternities: Pi kapp, Pike, Theta Chi, Sigma Nu, Kappa Sig i would like to see tri-delt open a chapter, as well as delta gamma for fraternities, i dont really know of any others i'd like to see, cuz i don't really know many. |

I would love to see Gamma Phi Beta come to UK. Although I saw something about them being here in the 70's, that may be wrong though. My roommate was a transfer from Morehead who was in Gamma Phi Beta and she always sang cheers to me. I just thought they were cute! :D

There are several closed chapters from the University of Texas that were quite old chapters. It would be nice if they could eventually come back:

Well Sigma Kappa was at Florida Tech but folded in '97. It sounds like we are going to be opening up for expansion, so I don't know if they will get preference. Supposedly our Greek advisor thinks it would be really cute to bring in Alpha Gamma Delta because the other sorority besides us is Gamma Phi Beta, and that would complete the Syracuse Triad. :D

At Central OK, we have 6 fraternities. I'd kind of like to see Kappa Alpha Order come on so we could have the full Lexington Triad represented (they tried last time but PKA ended up being the latest expansion). It was down to them and PKA, so, hopefully, KA is still interested.
As far as sororities, there are only 4 NPC groups and they could easily support one or two more. Wouldn't matter to me which two although I've heard rumors that Tri-D was interested. |
We have a handful of fraternities and sororities, but I'm not gonna bother naming them (i am lazy). I would REALLY like to have a Kappa Alpha Theta chapter here, cuz I love those girls, and I'd like for Pi Kappa Phi to return to campus (charter taken away 3 years ago...the members became a local and are now Sigma Pi). I think it would be cool if ZTA could have stayed on campus too, they just recently folded. Oh and Tri-delts would be cool cuz I love dolphins, hehe. Um, what about chapters you'd like to see leave? *evil snicker* I'm kidding I would never put that kind of opinion on GC :)

At Marist College we have-
Sororities: Alpha Sigma Tau Kappa Kappa Gamma Kappa Lambda Psi Sigma Gamma Rho Sigma Sigma Sigma Fraternities: Alpha Phi Delta Zeta Psi Phi Kappa Sigma We used to have TKE, Sig Ep, and Tau Epsilon Phi on campus. I know that TKE and Sig Ep got kicked off-campus and are now off-campus Fraternities. I dunno what hapened to Tau Epsilon Phi, they're no longer around. We aren't big on Greek Life so I dunno about bringing another sorority on campus but I'd like to see an NPHC fraternity on campus. |

Phi Sigma Sigma was at UF quite a few times. Originally in the 50s, then the 80s- mid 90s. I know that UF just had DZ colonize a year or two ago. Phi Sig actually STILL owns property up there. I wish they would re-open (although they tried it 2 times, but due to being the only unhoused sorority they did not have a good response). I know DZ is now having a house built. Phi Sig would probably do very good there now, they have been having great turnout for recruitment lately (so I hear).
My school unfortunately can not support another sorority. We only have 4 NPC on campus and quota was like 13 this year. Not enough girls come out cause we are a communter school :(. |
As far as NPC groups, NCSU has:
ADPi DG DZ Chi-O ZTA Sig Kap Alpha Phi was here but went under a few years ago...I would love to have them back eventually, but I think it is too soon at this point. DG just colonized last year, and they are talking expansion again!! It's so exciting! I'd love to have Phi Mu, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Tri-Delt, or Kappa Delta. Tri-Delta and Kappa Delta were in the finals (with DG) when we expanded last time, and have been showing constant interest in expanding to NCSU if DG did well, so they might be who we look to first! I'm excited about it all in any case! :D |
Auburn has:
AXO AGD AOII ADPi AZD XO DDD DG DZ GPB KD KKG Phi Mu Pi Phi SK ZTA DG colonized last year, and there are plans to add around 2 more sororities in the next couple of years. I'd love to see Theta back and maybe Alpha Phi! |
We have these NPC groups: AXO, SDT, AEPhi, Chi O, Tri Delt, Kappa, Theta, Gamma Phi Beta, Alpha Phi, Pi Phi and DG. I think that at various points, we have had every NPC group except ZTA,
AST, ASA, D Phi E and Tri Sigma. The most recent to go were KD and Alpha Xi Delta (both sometime in the early 90s) and AGD before that, I believe. I would love to see any of them back here, but I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. |
My university has:
Sororities: ADPi Chi Omega Tri-Delta Gamma Phi Beta KD KKG Pi Beta Phi Fraternities: Lambda Chi Alpha (just colonized there this past year) Phi Delta Theta Sigma Phi Epsilon Phi Kappa Psi Theta Chi Sigma Chi Phi Sigma Kappa Sigma Tau Gamma Sigma Pi Phi Mu Alpha I don't even think I could name any particular organization that I'd like to see come to my alma mater....I think I've heard such wonderful things about most (if not all) GLO's and any one of them would make a wonderful addition to the campus (if they ever decided to expand, but since about a third of the campus is Greek ~ and we're a "commuter school" ~ I think we might eventually get more organizations!) I think I'd probably want to see Alpha Sigma Tau come back to campus first, however :) |

My college has Zeta Tau Alpha, Phi Mu, and Alpha Xi Delta.
I think that I would love to see KAPPA DELTA there, as well as Pi Beta Phi, as they had a chapter that folded in the early 80's. Plus, the Panhell advisor that served Bethany for a long time was a Pi Phi, so I know she would love that! :) However, I think it's high time that Alpha Sigma Alpha, Theta Phi Alpha, or Alpha Sigma Tau moves into town. As far as fraternities, we have the Kappa Alpha Order, Sigma Nu, Alpha Sigma Phi, Phi Kappa Tau, & Delta Tau Delta. I would love if Beta Theta Pi or Sigma Alpha Epsilon recolonized. Plus, we need an NPHC group!!!!!! |
UCF has these sororities:
ADPi AZD ChiO TriDelta DG Theta KD KKG PiPhi ZTA I would love to see AXO come back to our campus. I would also like to see AOII and Phi Mu to add 2 more traditionally southern sororities. We have all of the NPHC fraternities and sororities We have these fraternities: AEPi ATO Beta DTD DU Kappa Sig LXA Lambda Sigma Upsilon Lambda Theta Phi Phi Delt FIJI Pike Pi Kapp SAE Sigma Chi Sigma Lambda Beta Sigma Nu SigEp TKE I've heard that Theta Chi and ZBT are supposed to be colonizing relatively soon. I would like to see ACACIA come back. I would like to KA here. My uncle was one and they also have such a huge presence in the south that I know they'd do well. |
Syracuse has:
AXO Alpha Phi AXiD AEPhi DG Tri Delt Gamma Phi Theta KKG Pi Phi Phi Sig SDT AGD had their Alpha Chapter there, and they only closed a few years ago and still own the house.... I think everyone would love to see them come back. It would also be fun to have a DZ or a KD chapter there. I think at one point or another, SU has had almost all of the NPC groups there... |
the only NPC sororities that PSU doesn't have are:
AGD AST AEPhi TPA DPhiE Phi Sig We have all of the NPHC except for Iota Phi Theta. We have 51 IFC Houses......... Of the MGC Greeks, we have SLG, SLB, LTPhi, aKDPhi, LPhiE, Phi Delta Psi, SOPi, SLU, Beta Phi Pi There are interest groups for TPA and AGD but PSU isn't going to expand anytime soon. The system is too weak to support another group. I'd like Iota to come on campus to so we can have the complete D9 here. The only IFC house I could see coming on campus is FarmHouse since PSU does have a thriving Agriculture program. Maybe Theta Xi could come back since SAE just did. It would be cool of LTA came back or if Theta Nu Xi ever came on campus. |

At Pitt, I'd like to see the chapters which have closed (that I know of):
Kappa Alpha Theta Phi Mu Phi Sigma Sigma Zeta Tau Alpha and any other chapter which has closed. I was surprised to hear that FIJI closed - they were always a class act. |
At Butler we have:
NPC: A Chi O A Phi DG KKG Theta Pi Phi IFC: Sigma Chi Sigma Nu Phi Psi Delt TKE Lambda Chi NPHC: SGRho AKA DST KAPsi I'd like to see Beta Theta Pi and Kappa Sigma return. We've opened up for sorority expansion so that Tri-Delt could possibly return. ZTA also had a house here. I'd like to see DZ or KD here because all the girls I've met have been awesome! :D |
i would love to see ADPi and Alpha Phi at my school...last time they *thought* about expanding i think they were looking at tri-sigma and alpha chi omega...both of which would also be great choices! of course, i emphasized "thought" because i have no idea if the idea of expansion here still exists.

That's interesting. LSU has never had 4 of the 5 groups that you mention. The other group that has never been at LSU is Theta Phi Alpha. We also had Beta Sigma Omicron but it closed a few years before their merger with ZTA.
I would love to see AOII come back but I won't hold my breath. At Mercer we have Chi O, Phi Mu, AGD, and ADPi
I would love to see ZTA come to my school since I am a legacy and i have grown up hearing a lot about it and have such a high respect for its sisters. Also, I would like to see KD, KKG, or AOII, because they already have lots of southern chapters and would do really well on our campus. I don't think Mercer will be expanding anytime soon. As far as fraternities go we have: Sigma Nu, Pi Kappa Phi, Phi Delt, KA, SAE, ATO, Kappa Sig, and Lambda Chi. I would love to see a Pike chapter or a TKE chapter. I read in the school paper that there is an interest group for Alpha Chi Rho so I hope that that works out for them! |

DZ and ZTA as sorrorities with KA, SigEp, Lambda Chi, Phi lambda chi, ag sig on campus and with kappa sig, and ZBT trying to start chapters.. tell mewhats wrong with this picture.. |
