If it makes you feel any better,I need to mow my lawn and clean my garage. It is full of things I just put in there when I moved.Since winter will be here soon,( I have been lucky so far) I really need to clean it so I can actually park in it.So while you are sitting in class, think of me cleaning my garage and mowing my corner lot lawn.

You will have fun on Sunday though.Did you go to Founders Day last year?

Everyone else sounds like they are going to have so much fun.It makes me not want to clean and go do something fun.Yea for free groceries and Boston and the airshow.
Best of luck to your sister Dawn.Make sure that you let us know if she wins.

We have no school tomorrow (yeay!) and then a football game Saturday and then it's the BIG weekend for our chapter....Court of Ivy and Initiation!!! Yeay!!!!!

Sistermadly 10-16-2003 09:55 PM

I wasn't an Alpha Phi last year, and I didn't start the AI process until December. I did attend another group's Founder's Day ceremony, and if ours is anything like theirs was, I'm sure I'll be in tears by the end of it.

And I have a speaking part! Woo-hoo!

If you fly me out to KC, I'll help you clean your garage. :D

CA - which pictures should I be looking at?

valkyrie 10-17-2003 06:28 PM

I'm plan on going to an A Phi House Corporation Board meeting! I've never been to one so I don't really know what to expect, but I'm looking to volunteer with my local collegiate chapter.

Jill1228 10-17-2003 06:31 PM

So, which university is near where you live?

Jill (sad that Valkyrie didn't want to hang with sistermadly and me) ;)

valkyrie 10-17-2003 07:19 PM

The University of Colorado.

Ohhhh, girl, I would LOVE to hang with you & sistermadly! I still plan on making it out there someday soon, even if only for a visit. :)

cutiepatootie 10-17-2003 10:34 PM

I need to hang with you all because i have no excitement in my life anymore :D

Sistermadly 10-19-2003 08:18 PM

I'm a little verklempt

Our Founder's Day was today, and we did the Promise ceremony. By the time we got to "remembrance" - I was nearly in tears.

We had a PHENOMENAL turn out for our event. We only expected about 20 people, but I think twice that showed up. We had five decades of Alpha Phis represented - some of whom brought scrapbooks from the 1940s. Looking around at all of the faces of the older alums to one of the newest collegiates just filled my heart to the brim. Today was also a special day for our very own Jill1228, and we had ANOTHER potential alum initiate in attendance! There were even a few moms there - and I'm working on them too. ;)

I'm so proud to be a part of this sisterhood. Alpha Phi is truly more than a word to me. AOE Always!

Yeah, now I'm going to have to find another use for all this bail money I saved up! ;)

I am a I'm a little verklempt ovah heah...OKAY, a lot! I admit it!

I was near tears during the promise ceremony. http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/...ons/cry002.gif
Glad I didn't cry...I was taking pictures and had to focus the camera! :D Can't see well with tears.

I too was amazed by the turnout! It was pretty cool seeing the generations of Alpha Phis.

Yes I had my NM ceremony today! http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/...s/REDDANCE.JPG

I bit the heck outta my lip to keep from crying. I did NOT want to be a blithering idiot! The other potential AI was very pleasant and likeable.

It is still sinking in over here

Sistermadly 10-23-2003 02:46 AM

Ain't nothing going on...

... but the typing. I have a 15 page paper due a week from tonight, and I've been so busy with other assignments that I haven't even started. The good news is I finished the draft for a proposal that's due tomorrow, and I can focus on the paper from here on out.

How many more months 'til April? ;)

Jill1228 10-23-2003 12:37 PM

Work on Saturday! Spending some quality time with the husband and we are probably going to head down toward Seattle.
(edited to add)
Sunday work a half shift 145-545p

astroAPhi 10-23-2003 01:25 PM

At some point this weekend, we're having our class caucus, and I'm on nomination committee. Then I'm going paintballing on Saturday with my boyfriend and his brothers out in the middle of the woods. Sunday I will studying for my stupid design final. :( We also have our Manatee Park cleanup and a meeting that day. I have a soccer game too, but as much as I love soccer I don't want to play because this team is awful. All they do is scream at each other and fight!
