.

ThetaPrincess24 10-14-2003 10:35 PM

I too also loved charmkins!!!! I had almost forgotten abotu those :)

In addition to those I also loved: Hugga-Bunch
Popples (the ones that came in Wendy's Kid's Meals)
Glo-worm(the small ones that came in Wendy's Kids Meals that you held up to a light bulb and watched them glow in the dark)
Rainbow Brite (I even dressed up as her for Halloween one year)
Care Bears
Cabbage Patch Kids
Barbies(Sadly I think I had about 200 dolls and two houses, a motor home, stage, a store, two corvettes, a swimming pool, and all the rose and ribbons furniture. I was also considered the supreme Barbie authority in the old neighborhood but that's a separate story.)
American Girls Dolls(there is another thread about these)
Strawberry Shortcake
Baby Bubbles

And I dont know if they are classified as toys, but I also enjoyed:

Wet Banana/Slip n Slide
Alligator Alley
Splatter Up
Big Wheels(mine had a place for my barbie to sit at the front, suprise suprise :) )

Barbies and Breyer horses! I could spend hours playing with them!

I loved my Barbie dolls. The only thing is, I used to chew the feet off of them (don't ask; I don't know why!) so they had these plastic spoke things sticking out from their ankles where the feet should be.

Hmmm, very odd! ;) I used to chop off barbie's hair cuz I thought I was a beautition. Poor Barbie. She had a bad hair day everyday after she met up with my scissors.:p

When I was about 5 or 6, I got my first Barbie. I chopped off her hair thinking that it would grow back to the original length. I also broke off one of her legs in a way that I couldn't put it back properly.

Anyway, my some of my favorite toys were:
Strawberry Shortcake and her friends (they are making a comeback)
Mandy and Jenny dolls
Holly Hobby (I am not sure if that is the real name of the doll) and her friend or sister Heather
The Fisher-Price Doctor Kit
An adorable stuffed animal (a little puppy) a friend gave to me for my 8th birthday.
Baby Cries for You
Dressy Bessy

LOL Jen! I got a Snoopy Sno Cone Machine for my 6th birthday!

I'm very proud to say that my Legos are being enjoyed and appreciated by a new generation...my nieces and nephew. They can only play with them under my supervision because if they accidentally lose some of them...that's IT!

And I still have my She-Ra Crystal Kingdom Princess of Power Castle that I got for Christmas 1986.

As far as Barbies go, I had em all...complete with the Corvette and Bubble Spa. They're somewhere in the closet.

Remember Lite Brite?

And the Slip N Slide. In college we went back to the booger days and constructed our own with lots of trash liners and water down the dorm hallway.

I was one of the few girls on the block that enjoyed the GI Joes and Transformers and Thundercats and Silverhawks.

...but I still remember when I was very happy playing with my stick in the big pile of dirt.

sigmagrrl 10-15-2003 09:03 AM

I was addicted to my Lite Brite. I only use it at night so that it would be worth my time and investment. I took it very seriously...I mean, I was creating ART! LOL

I was DETERMINED to master Operation....Steady...STEADY!!! GOOD LORD I'VE KILLED HIM!!! Devastating for a 7 year old...

FASHION PLATES! Step aside world, here comes a future Vera Wang!!

I was the reigning Chutes and Ladders queen of my building...Undefeated until 1984, when Danielle stole my title...Little biatch

HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS!!! Slam down on that handle and make the purple and pink hippopotami eat!!! EAT THE MARBLE DAMMIT!

MeLikey 10-15-2003 11:14 AM

Alphie (was that his name?, the thing you put cards in the slit of his stomach)
Hungry Hungry Hippos
Lite Brite
Glo-worms
Hug-a-Bunch Dolls (I had the blonde one with the little baby and my sister had the red-head ones)
My Little Pony
These bigger horses that were skinny and had nice long hair (they were more grown-up, but forget their names, I had a few)
He-Man, Shera, the whole scary castle, it was huge
Barbies, every kind, the pink corvette, Ken, the huge Barbie house
Skip-It
Big Wheels
The Wuzzles Game
Popples (mine was Popcorn)
Pound Puppies and the cat versions (forget the name)
Strawberry Short Cake
Potato Man
Walkie Talkies (my sister and I went crazy with them)
that Tic Tac Toe game with the bean bags and you throw them and the block either goes to the circle or X
Supersoakers
those Nerf soft swords
Simon
Silly Putty
Fashion Plates (LOVED it)
Operation
Memory
Candy Land
Connection
Scategories
Care Bears
some money board game, forget the name, I just remember these fake coins
that talking bear, think his name was Teddy?
Guess Who game (think that's the name)
Kush balls
Sweet Valley Twins
Pamela (when you pressed something she'd talk or giggle)

many many more, and as you can tell I forget some of their names, just have fuzzy memories... and I too was a girl who loved to play with all of the boys in the dirt, playing freeze tag, dodge ball with kush balls in the street at 8am on the weekends, manhunt, etc.

When I was in grade one I had a Popple. Not the little dinky ones you got at Wendy's - the real big one. I lost it at school sometime during the year.

I swear to this day that Christina _________ stole it. I just know.

I loved my Lego. My parents always knew exactly what to get me for Christmas :) I had a round canvas play surface with a drawstring around the outside... when I was done playing, I just pulled the drawstring and it turned into a bag. VERY handy for cleanup, especially when you're dealing with really little Legos with pointy corners! :)

I also loved Raggedy Ann. I got a doll for my 2nd birthday and we were inseparable :) I wound up with about 10 Raggedy Ann's and 4 Raggedy Andy's that I got as gifts over the course of my childhood. Had a couple of Cabbage Patch dolls too... but I wasn't really a doll person aside from that first Raggedy Ann.

I thought I was the only person who played with Fashion Plates...

Never got into Barbie, though. I got one once as a gift... played with her once, put her away, and went back to my Lego. :)
