What chapter is everyone from?

I want to get this forum more active again and connect with sisters across the country.

What chapter is everyone from?

I'm from the Delta Upsilon Chapter at Eastern Kentucky University.

ThetaGrrl 10-13-2003 05:09 PM

Yea! I'd like to get this forum going too!

I'm an alum from Beta Gamma at Colorado State...

ThetaPrincess24 10-15-2003 05:31 PM

Awesome! How was Illinois Rush this year? :)

thetaGirl2 10-16-2003 01:25 PM

Ahh, you're so sweet for asking! Our rush was awesome; return rates were near 100% throughout! Quota was set at 53, and we ended up with 55 incredible girls! I love our 07's! I'm really proud of our house, being part of the biggest greek community in the nation, for getting the absolute best girls on campus! :D How did everyone else's rush go?

ThetaPrincess24 10-16-2003 05:25 PM

We got 20 awesome girls! Quota was 16.

We also got the most girls returning to our preference which was 31 :) They are AWESOME :) I also got a great grand lil this semester too :)

Greekgrrl 10-16-2003 08:00 PM

Are any of you alums involved with local alum chapters/clubs? I'm trying to find out about the one locally, but can't seem to get ahold of anyone about it!

Andrea---If you contact nationals they should be able to tell you the contact information of the Alumnae Chapter President for your area. Also if there isnt one, they will send you a list of all Theta Alums in your area too to start one.

Greekgrrl 10-22-2003 01:39 PM

I'm on the mailing list and I pay my dues but I'm actually really bad about going to events, mostly because they tend to schedule things when I have class (nothing like working full time and going back to school at the same time).

Our alumnae chapter is pretty darn active, though, and I think they contacted *me*

ThetaGrrl 10-23-2003 10:46 AM

I contacted headquarters and got phone numbers for both the chapter president and treasurer, and have left messages with both, but have yet to hear back from either. It's a little sad, because I don't really know anyone in the Springs. However, I made a connection with an alum via the Theta Chat Board on headquarters website, so at least I'll know someone here!

At DLC two (maybe three) years ago, some girls in Cali talked about how a group of younger alums did a thing called "Night Kites" where they would all go out on the town together every few weeks... how cute is that??

thetakates 11-05-2003 04:04 PM

I am a Delta Sigma from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana! :)

Go CARDS!

awesome! welcome to Kappa Alpha Theta :)

Janerz222 11-08-2003 01:01 AM

I'm an alumna from Epsilon Mu chapter at Princeton. I've always been active as an alum and served as Fraternity VP Alumnae on Grand Council from 2000-2002. Looking forward to helping install our newest chapter next weekend - Eta Lambda at Santa Clara.

And thanks to all you alumnae who are (or want to be) active! It's different than life as a collegian, but so rewarding and fun! I've made many wonderful Theta friends since college. Like in school, you get out of it what you put into it!

Three cheers to all you Thetas out there,
Jane

Pam-

I have been just dying to say hi to you!!! You don't know it, but I sure know you! I was the alum that you met during your initiation... remember?? I enjoyed that day so much :-)

I just love your chapter... they remind me so much of my own chapter when I pledged at Ole Miss 20+ years ago. Theta was brand new on campus, and the only ones without a house. I was in the first pledge class to the charter class.

I would really like to get involved with ZU if you need help from an alum!

Patti

ThetaPam 11-17-2003 03:29 PM

Oh wow! Yes, I totally remember you... I don't think there's any way I'm ever going to forget initiation. It's crazy "running into" you on here!

Anyway, thank you so much for helping out with our initiation, it was amazing. And we just elected new officers, so I'll be sure to tell the new Alum Relations Chair that you definitely need to be on the list of alums to call/email about events.

Theta Phi!

Theta Phi!

You never know where alums will show up ;-) I originally volunteered after running into a couple of your lovely actives at an apartment complex where I spotted a car with Theta all over it!

Just let me know when you could use an alum's help!

aggietheta 11-19-2003 02:37 PM

I'm an alum of the Delta Omega chapter at Texas A&M :)

Thetagurl 11-28-2003 10:34 PM

Hey theta princess r u an active at EKU? I am an alum from EKU and am an advisor for EKU

sangalet 01-07-2004 01:38 AM

I'm a Delta Eta Theta from Kansas State University!!!

ThetaSis2GPhiB 02-19-2004 05:50 AM

I'm a charter member from ZETA OMEGA - Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I was a senior when I joined, but it was completely worth it!

I've been advising for Eta Iota - Univ of San Diego for 4 years so they're my 'adopted' chapter.

ThetaGrrl 02-19-2004 12:47 PM

ThetaSis2GPhiB-

I met the Loyola Marymount girls at DLC in 2002. What an incredible group of women! When my chapter got there, we didn't quite know what to expect (we were a young exec board) and the Loyola Thetas came running over to greet us and were incredibly friendly. I just can't even begin to tell you how much I love that chapter!

ThetaSis2GPhiB 02-19-2004 12:58 PM

I am so glad to hear that! I was probably at that DLC for District VII. I know everyone loves their chapter, but I really was proud of the girls at Zeta Omega. Never acted like stereotypical sorority girls and were open to everyone.

Take care ThetaGrrl!

Hi! SO glad you are here! I have great admiration for charter members. I was in the first pledge class to our founders at Ole Miss. I know how tough being among the first can be! There are also such rewards in being the ones to establish a fraternity's identity on campus.

May I ask about your GC name? I am curious about the GPhiB part. Does that mean Gamma Phi Beta? How does that work with Theta or am I misunderstanding it entirely?

ThetaSis2GPhiB 02-19-2004 01:49 PM

Hi Patti - Thanks for the Charter Member respect! :)

As for my GC name...it basically means that my oldest sister (biologically-speaking) is a Gamma Phi Beta. Her GC name is GPhiBLtColonel (she's retired US Air Force) She would have loved it for me to be a Gamma Phi but there wasn't a chapter at LMU. And I wouldn't want to be anything but a Theta! :)

Greekgrrl 02-19-2004 03:04 PM

You're GPhiBLtColonel's sister? How cool! Any future legacies coming through anytime soon? They'll be blessed with such enthusiastic and active members of two great organizations. :) (But of course they'll go Theta *wink*)

ThetaSis2GPhiB 02-19-2004 03:32 PM

She has two sons so no sorority legacies on her end. I am not even married yet so no legacies in the near future. But we do have one niece who will get the 'encouragement' to not only go Greek, but to go Theta or Gamma Phi. My nephew (her brother) is a Phi Sigma Kappa at M.I.T. so I'm hoping she keeps a positive view of Greek life.

Exactly! I hate to say it, but we weren't greeted so openly by *all* the chapters out there. Loyola made us feel so welcome, and connected with our sisters!

Chapters

Hi All

I'm from Delta Psi, we were at the University of California Riverside but were closed due to numbers :-( I would love it if they got our chapter going again sometime!

I'm also a member of an alum chapter in Southern California so I'm not sure where that one person was from who was asking about alum chapters but HQ should be able to get you a listing of alum chapters in your area.

Clubs are usually harder to find as they're not necessarily recognized by HQ, I don't think...

Loyally,
HKDKAT
