Why aren't you sinners at church this morning? :(

There's a lot of people signed in both GC and my MSN, lol.

Sorry, but, in my time zone, it's 6:21 *pm*.

I went to church eight hours ago.

valkyrie 10-12-2003 03:23 PM

I'm quasi-Buddhist. I don't go to church.

Unregistered- 10-12-2003 03:27 PM

Not that it's anyone's business, but I don't need to go to church in order to prove my faith to anyone.

And I don't think I'm a sinner for not going either. The congregation might think so, but not the one I choose to worship.

docetboy 10-12-2003 03:49 PM

Sunday church??

EVERYONE knows that the sabbath is on SATURDAY, the SEVENTH day of the week!

:)

aurora_borealis 10-12-2003 03:50 PM

1) Why weren't you there?

2) Being a Protestant as a result of Martin Luther and the Reformation...I don't need a building, nor other people to have a relationship with God and repent for my sins. I am also ill with sniffles, coughs, and aches. The last thing I need to do is get other worshipers sick, or annoy them.

The1calledTKE 10-12-2003 04:32 PM

I haven't been to church in several years, I am a bad catholic. :(

cashmoney 10-12-2003 04:38 PM

Everytime I go I feel like the walls are about to cave in due to my presence.

bethany1982 10-12-2003 04:53 PM

Another bad Catholic here...

Rudey 10-12-2003 04:55 PM

I like to corrupt religious girls so often tims i wait outside a church wearing a cool leather jacket, smoking a bit, taking the cigs out of my cool white tshirts...

-Rudey
--They all leave the congregation for Rudey.

ztawinthropgirl 10-12-2003 06:56 PM

I haven't been to church since I was 14 years old . . . I am 22 now. Guess I am a bad Southern Baptist. Oh well I don't like the Convention anyways, and that's a whole new conversation and thread.

jess_pom 10-12-2003 07:44 PM

I went to church AND sunday school this morning. But all I got was pissed off.

I asked why we weren't having a Halloween party for the Sunday School and they said because they had done too much already this month: we served a banquet for super old people, did the CROP Walk today, and we have a yard sale next Saturday. I was mad because none of this stuff is fun for the kids. It was always something I looked forward to when I was younger. GRRR!!! That's what I get for going to a Presbyterian church, I guess. Old people with money are very set in their ways. Now, I probably won't go back for a very long time.

smiley21 10-12-2003 08:01 PM

i was at church this morning for the first time in three weeks. *sigh* i am going through a period of my life where church is not really important to me, so my mom is making me feel like the devil is living within me:(

Yea, well, everytime I go to mass it seems like I come out hungry for lunch and pissed because the father gave some message about living a sinful life and what will happen to you if you keep it up. Besides, I wont go to mass by myself. For some reason I got to have a girl with me when I go to church.

That sucks. Maybe the devil is living inside your mom, ever try telling her that without actually saying it. Try it, it works. She'll stop once she feels what you feel.

If she's a true christian, lives the life and isn't some seasonal christian....then she won't get mad at you for sitting down and talking to her about the way she's making you feel. On the other hand she could be one of those religious fanatics and just flare up every time you try to talk to her about not making you feel bad. In my opinion that isnt being christ like, thats not caring about the feelings of others. I know people like that, and many who were at one time or another. People like that usually end up becoming "back sliders", if you will, after a number of years.

Optimist Prime 10-12-2003 08:32 PM

I miss Sangha. Sangha=community of fellow practioniers in Buddhism.

cashmoney 10-12-2003 08:35 PM

Buddhist believers are so peaceful. You don't ever hear of them getting into fights with the HareKrishnas, Christians, Muslims or Jews.

i have already been labeled a 'back slider''. but seriously, my mom is a good woman that doesnt want me to make the wrong decisions. she doesnt want me to mess up. but sometimes i just think she comes on a little strong.

Optimist Prime 10-12-2003 08:39 PM

the song I'm listening to is called "The Devil's Chasing Me" wow.

Is it too farfetched to believe that good people can take the wrong route in trying to help prevent making the wrong decisions? I wasn't saying your mother isnt a good person. Its just been my experience that people like that don't realize they're wrong until a lot of time has passed.

Jill1228 10-12-2003 09:30 PM

Amen sister! My sentiments exactly! :D
