Rush Limbaugh
Everything in this world is being turned up-side down.

I saw the Video Tape yesterday on the News. I don't know if I should really feel sorry for him.
|
I feel bad for Rush. His comment on McNabb was true. He's totally overrated simply because he's a black quarterback, likewise with Eli Manning whos white. I don't think he should have lost his job at ESPN (And yes, he was forced to resign).
On the note of his drug addiction, I can relate. I have friends that are addicted to painkillers as well as narcotics. It's a nasty experience. Lorcet, Lortabs, Perkecet, Oxycotin, Morphine pills, Viks....they're all pretty shitty to deal with once you start taking them for a week or two. I almost had a hard time with Zanex.....the yellow bars. Those are almost the strongest Zanex they make ( these were bars, not footballs). I woke up one day after eating two yellow bars and snorting 3. I tried to remember what I did the previous 2 days, I couldn't tell you one thing I did in the prior 48 hrs. My cell phone had 27 missed messages. I had 3 new statues in my apartment that apparently I bought. I was missing 700$, there were bras lying around all through my apartment and all my food was eaten out of my fridge. Talk about being cracked out, I felt so ashamed. Should I have went to rehab? Maybe. Did I? No. How am I now? Drug free. What made me stop? The thought of my parents being disappointed in me and the cracked out feeling I had after the two days. Should Rush go to rehab? No. I think he's doing it to polish up his image. Its my opinion that if its someone will to stop, they can. Unless you're a heroin addict, you don't need rehab. On the other hand, doing certain drugs can cause people to get so depressed that they need some sort of outside help. I had a friend that was addicted to GHB and blew his brains out 1 1/2 months ago. The last time I talked to him was 3 months ago. I asked him how he was doing, he said he was going through some crapp and still addicted to GHB. I didn't think much of it. But he did seem a little depressed. I found out last month that he blew his brains out. I was overcomed with chills that lasted for a day. Drugs are just bad period, I don't care what people say or what I used to think. They're bad period. I had another friend of mine who died about a month earlier than my other friend. He OD'ed. The last time anyone saw him alive, he had a big Folgers coffee can of Cocaine and a bottle of Scotch that he was drinking straight. A few days later we found out he was dead. We all worked for him at the 4 clubs he owned in our college town. I'm just glad I chose to go another route than the drug route. I take my anger and pain out in the gym, I also let the massage lady relieve all my stress. Anyways, I hope Rush makes it out ok. I'm sure he will. |
Do I feel sorry for him? Hell no!
Mr. "People who get drugs illegally or use drugs should be in jail" (his quote) I think homeboy needs a little practicing of what he preached! On the other hand I do hope he kicks his addiction. Any type of addiction can be a b*tch. (Coming from someone who quit her pack a day of Marlboro Lights habit cold turkey) Quote:

This is a guy that used to preach against drug use and people with addictions. Just another example of a conservative not practicing what they preach.

He should be put in jail with all the crack addicted Democrats.

Yeah, who would be the prison b*tch in that environment? :D

Rush is a total ASS!:o
Arogant is a good word for him! KC Homeboy, first ex wife is working in a Liquor store as did not get squat from him! Smokes Cuban Cigars, is ADDICTED TO PAIN KILLERS, He is above the Law! Cuban Embargo under Kennedy! Egotistical, pompous Ass, ETC.! Has 2 sides of His Mouth! |
I feel bad for anyone with an addiction - hopefully he gets the help he needs. Am I a Rush fan? Not especially, but as a human being I hope he turns out ok.
The McNabb comment - well, Rush is entitled to his opinion, but to base it on race is ridiculous. What about Jake Plummer? What about Rob Johnson? These are guys who have had verbal bouquets tossed their way, and they're as white as the day is long. While Philly's defense has been sick, there's no way they're the team they are if Donovan isn't there. If he's overrated at all, it's because people factor in the fact that he's one of the toughest QBs in the league (along with McNair). |

Since McNabb came into the league the Eagles offense has sucked. Philadelphia's strength is their defense and special teams. Over the last 3 years their top scorer has been their kicker, David Ackers. The Eagles went 5-1 last year when McNabb was hurt. |

Heh heh heh
Call me evil...but I was THRILLED to see this in the news.
I'm not thrilled Rush is addicted -- that's a rough situation I wouldn't wish on anyone -- but as long as he is, I'm thoroughly enjoying the fact that it's being publicly exposed, revealing the hypocrisy of ANOTHER archconservative. This isn't quite as delicious as Bill Bennett the compulsive gambler, which he forgot to mention in his "Book of Virtues," but it still made my day to read about it. Oxycontin is synthetic heroin. It's a controlled substance, and abusing it is illegal. The bottom line is that Rush is a junkie just like every junkie he's mercilessly attacked in his long career. He's advocating throwing them in jail, he's ridiculed them for their lack of "personal responsibility," he's accused liberals of coddling them, he's shown them no pity and no mercy and no understanding...and he ain't getting any from me. All he's getting from me is a thank-you for discrediting himself. Ivy |

Actually, I think he's more of a libertarian. He believes that people should be responsible for their own actions. |
I feel bad for the guy. I think he is wrong and pig headed and arrogant and oppionated and bit self deluded, but I feel really, really bad for him. I'm quitting smoking and its hell, it must be a million times harder for him to just stop taking pain killers. When I go off my medication I always get kind of nutsy, I can only imagine what his must be like.

Re Kordell S, he dealt with a lot of shit while he was here. Was some of it racial? Yes, I'm sure. Was some of it just because he was reaching beyond his limits? Yes, I'm sure. If he hadn't been so dead set on playing QB, I think things would have worked out better. Then there were the infamous Schenley Park rumours and I don't even wanna go there. Re oxycontin, that shit is just plain evil. You KNOW it's bad when people are doing heroin because they can't get their hands on Oxycontin!!!! Re Rush, the thing about him that always drove me nuts is he would say something really cool and insightful, but not stop - he'd take it up to the next level and end up sounding like a jerk. Quit while you are ahead, Rush. |
Ah yes, we all know that hypocrisy is a partisan issue....

I thought people started doing Oxy because they couldn't get their hands on the real heroin and morphine. I saw a documentary of a heroin addict coming off of that stuff in rehab. It was enough to make me never want to try heroin in any form. I already have an addictive personality, I can only imgaine the type of crackhead I'd become if I ever got on that crapp. |

Libertarians aren't about "everyone is responsible for his/her actions" (actually I think most political doctrines subscribe to this in some way, but not as a fundamental belief), they believe that the government should not have interference in daily life and that its only purpose is to protect people from outside enemies. Just had to set the record straight! |
"Put not your faith in princes."
My experience with "personalities" as well as politicians -- and, for that matter, the rest of life is simply that anything that seems too good to be true, generally is. I think Rush is a dolt -- same thing I would think of a "liberal" counterpart if there was one. |

But you are right about the other statement on protecting people from outside enemies, just to set the record straight. |

Generalization? After talking to many members of the democratic party that is the common belief I find them all to carry. Would you care to discuss what you find them to believe? |
Democrats only help out the freak single mothers who ride the 7 train in Flushing.

NEWS FROM THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY 2600 Virginia Avenue, NW, Suite 100 Washington DC 20037 World Wide Web: http://www.LP.org ==================================== For release: October 16, 2003 ==================================== For additional information: George Getz, Communications Director Phone: (202) 333-0008 ==================================== America owes talk host Rush Limbaugh a debt of gratitude, Libertarians say WASHINGTON, DC -- The entire nation owes radio broadcaster Rush Limbaugh a debt of gratitude, Libertarians say, because his ordeal has exposed every drug warrior in America as a rank hypocrite. "One thing we don't hear from American politicians very often is silence," said Joe Seehusen, Libertarian Party executive director. "By refusing to criticize Rush Limbaugh, every drug warrior has just been exposed as a shameless, despicable hypocrite. And that's good news, because the next time they do speak up, there'll be no reason for anyone to listen." The revelation that Limbaugh had become addicted to painkillers -- drugs he is accused of procuring illegally from his housekeeper -- has caused a media sensation ever since the megastar's shocking, on-air confession last week. As the Limbaugh saga continues, here's an important question for Americans to ask, Libertarians say: Why are all the drug warriors suddenly so silent? "Republican and Democratic politicians have written laws that have condemned more than 400,000 Americans to prison for committing the same 'crime' as Rush Limbaugh," Seehusen pointed out. "If this pill-popping pontificator deserves a get-out-of-jail-free card, these drug warriors had better explain why." Given their longstanding support for the Drug War, it's fair to ask: Why haven't President George Bush or his tough-on-crime attorney general, John Ashcroft, uttered a word criticizing Limbaugh's law- breaking? Why aren't drug czar John P. Walters or his predecessor, Barry McCaffrey, lambasting Limbaugh as a menace to society and a threat to "our children?" Why aren't federal DEA agents storming Limbaugh's $30 million Florida mansion in a frantic search for criminal evidence? Why haven't federal, state, and local police agencies seized the celebrity's homes and luxury cars under asset-forfeiture laws? Finally, why aren't bloviating blabbermouths like William Bennett publicly explaining how America would be better off if Limbaugh were prosecuted, locked in a steel cage and forced to abandon his wife, his friends, and his career? The answer is obvious, Seehusen said: "America's drug warriors are shameless hypocrites who believe in one standard of justice for ordinary Americans and another for themselves, their families and their political allies. "That alone should completely discredit them." But there's an even more disturbing possibility, Seehusen said: that the people who are prosecuting the Drug War don't even believe in its central premise -- which is that public safety requires that drug users be jailed. "The Bushes and Ashcrofts and McCaffreys of the world may believe, correctly, that individuals fighting a drug addiction deserve medical, not criminal treatment," he said. "That would explain why they're not demanding that Limbaugh be jailed. "But if that's the case, these politicians have spent decades tearing apart American families for their own political gain. And that's an unforgivable crime." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The Libertarian Party http://www.lp.org/ 2600 Virginia Ave. NW, Suite 100 voice: 202-333-0008 Washington DC 20037 fax: 202-333-0072 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- For subscription changes, please use the WWW form at: http://www.lp.org/action/email.html |

9 for 23, 64 yds passing 0 TDs, and 1 int. That sucks! ESPN should give Rush Limbaugh his job back and fire anyone that thought Donovan McNabb was a superstar. McNabb is at best average. He is so inconsistent. Limbaugh's only mistake was bringing up race even though it was true. |
