this new show is going to start coming on mtv, oct. 13 at 4:00 p.m.. it is about jim's cheeleading camp. it looks hilarious. jim is so funny. is he supposed to be for real? the way he acts toward the campers is so funny.

Jim's funny! I went to a cheerleading camp for a week back in junior high school, but his camp looks a lot tougher.

LMAO he cracks me up! I saw the "Guide to Camp Jim" at like 1am last night. I am finally excited to watch evening tv again :)

wow, i saw that too.....no idea what to think, but it was a great distraction from my russian politics book. It's hilarious!

I am so sad I haven't seen the "Guide to Camp Jim" yet, but I cannot wait for "Camp Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I went to cheer camp for 8 years and remember it fondly. ONe of my chapter sisters is really high up at USA and one of my former collegiates works for her. What a great job!

I think that he is a little creepy...But he certainly does put the "camp" into Camp Jim (not that there's anything wrong with that!) ;)

He reminds me of a younger Richard Simmons without the curly hair...

All I could think of when I saw him is a line from the Mango sketches on SNL:

"Why does everyone think I'm the homo-gay???"

Camp Jim? This sounds good :). We don't have it in my tv area yet so I'll look out for it! Is it anything like the film Ernest goes to Camp? I didn't see that but I saw some of the other films in the series. I went to camp a few weeks ago, graduating rocked wish college was as easy) - space camp. Then in FL I met a bunch of people who were camp counsellors over the summer mostly in PA but one in NY 'cept that was only a day camp. I wanna do that next summer it sounded really fun. How does that hello mother hello father, ... camp Grenada song go? Or is that just a myth that people sing that.

He is like the offspring of Dr. Phil and Richard Simmons.

I saw the Guide to Camp Jim. The show looks hilarious. I'm so sad that I'm going to miss the first episode today. :( I don't get to leave work until 4:30. Does anyone know if MTV is going to replay a billion other times this week like they usually do with all their shows?

I am sooooo excited to see this. I went to cheer camp for many years and while it was fun, it was always the hardest week of the entire year. I can't even imagine what it would be like to go to camp with this guy though, yikes! :eek:

I caught the show today because I had off for Columbus Day, but I'm going to be at work at 4 from here on out. I hope they show re-runs ad nauseum. I don't understand why they put it on at 4 when their target audience will most likely be at practice during that time.

I don't think I like that each episode follows one person rather than showing the 2 weeks in chronological order and just giving everyone equal time on the each episode.

As far as Meredith's episode, I do agree with her that he wasn't really giving her criticism, just telling her she was boring. Well being exciting doesn't make you land your handspring. I hope that he doesn't do that crap with everyone else. It seemed like he thought she was quiet coming in and wouldn't let it go. I'm glad she made her all-star squad...It's going to break my heart if (realistically when) they don't make their squads.

I was sorta disapointed. The show wasn't really funny or anything and was too short to really get an attatchment to the characters :(

They're dedicating each episode to a particular girl/guy. Last nights episode was ok. The girl (Meridith) wasn't very interesting but she worked hard and obtained her goal which is good. I hope next week's is better.

I'm thinking that he may have a little black woman inside of him. Only reason I say that is because he reminds me of my aunts! He has their attitude and everything! Freaky.

Ohhhhh. And I LOVE the show. He was right about Meredith. She was really boring, but he was a little harsh on her.

I am so loving this show

ETA: Ok, why did he just tell Jamie she was talking so much smack, he was surprised she could close her mouth? And why did that just have me CTFU?:D

I'm watching it now... I don't know the girl's name, it's the one who was talking crap about Jim... I'm just glad he called her out in front of everyone!

I don't remember if they showed if she made her all-star team or not, did she? Jamie that is - the girl that just talked crap the entire time.

Yeah, she made it. It was SOOOOOO funny when he went off on her. Did you see the way he was swaying his neck? That had me CTFU.

Last night was MUCH better than the first episode. I really like how they show if the girl (or guy) made their goal of making whatever quad they're going out for. And Jim is a GREAT coach!

I like Jim...he seems like a kick ass guy and looks like he makes one hell of a cheerleader. i think the show is pretty good too.


BUT i wonder which way he swings. I think hes into gurls but my boyfreind thinks not. MMMMMM I WONDER?! :confused:

Ditto :) I never was and never will be a cheerleader, but it's just such fun to watch.

Because it was truly brilliant! I'd love to see a follow-up with all these kids a year from now.

Camp Jim!

Today I saw the episode featuring 1 of the guys... was pretty good... I liked how they chose a guy for the camp. I'm glad that Jim got on his case, because yeah, as a mere junior high school cheerleader, I have to say his motions needed to be much sharper. The other guy who he bonded with and who was helping him with his back hand springs-- he doesn't seem like he needs help with anything... I'll have to see what his "goal" is.

I'm surprised MTV isn't reairing it a million times like they do everything else.

I really am not trying to be mean.... but are you really analyzing the episodes of "Camp Jim"

I haven't seen any episodes to be able to analyze them. That is why I'm asking if the girl from U of Md made the squad.
