Founder's Day 2003

We went to Chicago for our Founder's Day. This is the best one that I've been to in awhile. I love the girls from Loyola, Quincy, UIC, and IU-Kokomo.
Guys, IU-Kokomo colonized with 25 girls interested last semester. They now have 62 members waiting to be initiated this fall.
*snaps*

The girls in our region are awesome and so helpful. We actually got to sit with girls from other chapters. It was totally awesome.

I LOVE PHI SIG!!!

FAUNikki 10-06-2003 11:19 AM

I just went to the IU Kokomo webpage, are they the only greek org on campus? Because on their student activities page is a link to a little blurb about them and some great pictures. Congrats to them!! Good to see us thriving!

pirepresent 10-07-2003 01:38 PM

so proud, so proud!!

White_Chocolate 10-07-2003 01:57 PM

if your chapter ever gets the chance to hear Amy Lau, i suggest you go hear her speak. she's an alum of phi sig from U-Laverne. she's so motivating and awesome.

SapphireSphinx9 10-07-2003 04:02 PM

Are you talking about Wendy??? She's really nice, and has done very well for herself! Def. a good example of aiming high! :)

AK Phi Sig 10-07-2003 04:04 PM

Actually it's Wendy Lau. But you're right she's wonderful! (I am a little biased since she's from my chapter and was a BIG reason I joined Phi Sig) What did she speak on? Last year she was one of the FISH presenters at our Division Conference.

White_Chocolate 10-07-2003 04:43 PM

Why did I think her name was Amy? Everyone's name was running together. She's great. She talked about embracing the core values of Phi Sigma Sigma. It was awesome.

MooseGirl 10-12-2003 11:01 PM

Glad to hear you had a great founder's day.
my chapter is hosting my region's this year - not until nov 15th.

Wendy is great. She came to our chapter when she was consultant - that was my first year in phi sig!

krystle 10-12-2003 11:27 PM

I think I'm going to Founders Day this year. We're holding it on October 26th ( right after Homecoming Weekend ) and its gonna be at WPI....

I will defiantley tell y'all about it when its done with. :D

FAUNikki 10-12-2003 11:36 PM

Perhaps it is because Central Office is literally a couple blocks away from my chapter, but arent we required to hold founders day in late november, like near the date of founding , the 26th? For us the three chapters in the area have to get together for a 150% mandatory event. Or is this your local founding???

SapphireSphinx9 10-13-2003 03:51 AM

In the past, our division has gotten together as close as possible to the actual founding date for our Founder's Day celebration. I think last year it was a couple of week before...

Why do other chapters celebrate earlier???

MooseGirl 10-13-2003 12:01 PM

i think it just has to do with the chapters' schedules...i know it was hard because many chapters in my region are initiating in november. there were other things going on too, like in canada there's a greek conference nov 7th-9th so my chapter wouldn't want founder's day that weekend. We almost did happen to have it in october!

Jadey28 10-13-2003 12:33 PM

Region 8 is holding their Founder's Day on November 9th. We, too, usually try to hold FD as close as possible to the 26th. But since Thanksgiving is November 27th, we're having it a little early in November. I'm looking forward to it because there is going to be a big focus on the alumnae and their support!

White_Chocolate 10-14-2003 09:43 AM

we held ours early because our regional director wanted to be there
but her baby was due in november

HI There,

The Southern Half of Region 12, one of the Pilot regions, is having their Founders Day on Sunday November 16th. It's going to be at Hard Rock Cafe in Beverly Hills. This out to be interesting.

Alum are invited as always (hint hint Beth). I hope that all the Alum on here that aren't advisors are going to the Founder's Day closest to them.

LITP,
Carolyn

hee hee nice wording Carolyn. Yea for all of you that don't know Region 12 is all of california and oregon. Yup its a 17hour difference between our two farthest chapters. But it makes sense I guess and our region seems to be working great!

Anyway well the 'Middle Half' :p of Region 12 (that would be Delta Gamma: SF; Theta Mu: Stanislaus; and Theta Chi: Sac State) is also having their founders day on Sunday November 16th. It is being put on by the Capital City Alumnae Chapter up in Sacramento. I'm excited about going! Cara are you going? Hopefully I'll see you there

Happy Very Early Founder's Day to everyone. :D

ladybug_phisig 10-21-2003 05:45 PM

i am excited about Founders Day! as you can see, i am still relatively new to Phi Sig so everything amazes me!!

DeltaUpsilon97 11-25-2003 11:04 PM

Happy Founders Day!!

Hey Ladies!

I know it's a few hours early, but I figured I'd try to post something before I went to bed! I just wanted to wish all my sisters a happy founders day! It's great to know that we have 90 years of fantastic women and sisterhood behind us!!

I'd just like to say thank you to:
Lilian Gordon Alpern
Joshepine Ellison Breakstone
Fay Chertkoff
Estelle Melnick Cole
Jeanette Lipka Furst
Ethel Gordon Kraus
Shirley Cohen Laufer
Claire Wunder McArdle
Rose Sher Seidman
Gwen Zaliels Snyder

It's because of these 10 women and their strength and desire for sisterhood that we have what we do today, and I think they'd be amazed to see where Phi Sig is in 2003!

Hope everyone has a great founders day!!

LITP
Amanda

I too want to say Happy Founders Day to all my sisters around the world.

Thank you to our 10 Founders for creating such a fantastic sorority. Thank you to Phi Sigma Sigma for deciding to colonize at CSU Dominguez Hills and allowing graduate students to become an active part of your collegiate sisterhood.

Once a Phi Sigma Sigma
Always a Phi Sigma Sigma

Love in our Bond,

Founders Day!

Hey Ladies!

I am excited cause we are celebrating Founders Day this Saturday at the Hard Rock Cafe. I can't waite to meet women from other chapters! If you will be there, let us know, maybe we can do something afterwards! Ok that's it!

PhiSigStrawbery 11-19-2004 12:01 AM

We have ours this Sunday, and it is extremely formal. It is going to come out beautiful. This is my second one, I am excited to see all the girls again.

Glitter650 11-19-2004 02:18 AM

Wow everyone's sounds so nice.. ours is just on campus of one of the chapters in our region... but I know PrincessHeather will be there.. so I'll get to meet her in person !! :) Actually I have met her in person.. but we weren't properly introduced. :D

PhiSigCoco 11-19-2004 04:17 PM

Alright, another region 12er here...

We had ours a week ago on Saturday. It was right after Delta Delta's initiation and Joanne was up here for it. It was nice to have Joanne up and to have Darcy Burke (Grand VA) here for it... but she is a Beta Omega alum anyway.

Gotta love founders day!

Happy Founder's Day everyone!!!

PS. Just got our region 12 shirts... they are really cute and really nice to have!

CaliPhiSig03 11-19-2004 06:28 PM

This is my first Founder's Day so I'm excited about going, plus I'm excited to see all of my sisters from all the other chapters. We should go shopping at the Beverly Center, or do something fun around Hollywood!

MooseGirl 11-22-2004 06:22 PM

Hi ladies,

Our region celebrated this past Saturday. It was a nice luncheon, and the women did enjoy hearing Erin Weber speak. And I got a chance to see one of my online sisters :)

I was very tired though, so I didn't interact much, but that's ok, there's always regional!

I will be wearing pin attire this friday.

annice22 11-28-2004 07:54 PM

MooseGirl

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself at out campus. I hope I got a chance to meet you. Saturday was such as crazy day for us.
Erin Weber is pretty cool.

MooseGirl 11-29-2004 10:56 AM

LOL. I don't remember if we met. I wasn't really social since I was not feeling well.

It was nice to visit your campus!
