I'm in Phoenix, so a drive to LA is like only 6 hours. I would so love to meet some sisters. It would just depend on money cause I would have to get a hotel and stuff.

I love the idea of universal studios. I haven't been there in ages.

Hey ladies sorry its taken me so long to reply. Verizon took their time setting up my internet in my apt.

adpiucf that is SO sweet of you to plan a gathering. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. Sadly Sweetieadpi is not here anymore, she was just taking some time off to be my travel buddy and now shes back in Pittsburgh working. I'm slowly getting settled and meeting people. Cal poly doesnt have an adpi chapter and when i see all the GLOs around campus I miss my girls back at HB. So yeah I've met some people through my classes but I would love to meet some more people and espcially sisters. I can be free whenever except monday and wednesday nights since I have class tuesday and thursdays. Let me know!

I am down with a Saturday or Sunday--- maybe we can meet for lunch in one location? Or like I said, Universal could be fun! Or a studio tour! Of course, we will need to take a digital group shot and post it on GC!

Any type of meeting would be great (especially getting to meet fellow CA ADPi's!), and we definitely have to take a pic for GC...show off all of us cute members! :)

If cost of a Universal ticket is an issue for a lot of people, what say you-- we can 1) Make it lunch at Universal Citywalk or 2) Move the event to the Long Beach Aquarium! ETA: Or b/c we might include AZ people... should we make the trek to SD and go to the San Diego Zoo?

As far as what to do I'd love to go to universal since I havent been there in a long time. but I also understand if people cant afford it so I'd be up for anything else as well. Also I know ASUADPi wants to come up and I might be able to help her out but I have to check my class schedule and make sure I have nothing big going.

Yes, I would really love to come. My only problem right now is that I'm supposed to work on Sunday, but I might be able to get the day off as long as I put a request in by Monday.
Like I said earlier it just depends on money. I would drive there but I need to get a hotel room and those aren't too cheap. Here's to crossing my fingers.

Last spring when I went to the San Diego zoo during spring break with some sisters the lions were mating. Anyways the only question I have if we do this in san diego is transportation. Would we car pool or just everyone on their own?

Whichever place we decide to go to, I'm going to do my darnedest to be there and meet all of you wonderful sisters! If we do wind up going to the zoo in San Diego, I think that there's probably someplace we could agree to meet up at and park, then carpool from there (being from San Diego, I should know someplace, but can't think of anything right now).

Like Honeychile posted on a different thread, it's not the best idea to put stuff like that where any wierd-o can read it. Just want to keep my sisters safe!:)

WLFEO, You have a great point. We don't want some weirdo to track us down, since anyone can read this.

Since adpiucf started the thread, I think we should pm her from now on with where we think we should all meet up and at what time.

I've already booked my airfare and will be staying with HBADPI and I would love to meet y'all (polarpi, adpiucf, uclagirl?) and any other sisters.

hi all-- work is making me nuts and I am so sorry to have dropped the 8-ball on this one. I definitely am in for this, but can someone else take over coordinating? I can come, but probably will have to meet up around 2ish at Universal. I have a comp pass. Maybe we can arrange to meet up then, too??

I want to come, but my mom is concerned about me driving up to Universal by myself (like I haven't driven the Chicago tollways :rolleyes: )

Is there anyone nearby the San Diego area (or even around Oceanside) that would be willing to carpool up? Otherwise, I don't know if I'll be able to come unless I bring my grandma :eek:

(Can you tell I'm the only child and I'm still living at home? :D )

Polarpi, if this would make your mom feel better about driving (I'm not sure how though) I can give you my cell phone number since I'll already be in California, then if you have a problem you have a sister to call.

I don't know, i understand you mothers concern, but the drive to LA from San Diego is only about a 2 hour drive. Then again, I've driven to Tucson and back over a dozen times and to California and back once.

I don't think it's so much she's worried about me driving the freeways to LA by myself, it's more the idea of all the other drivers that could potentially crash into me (we've had our run of bad luck with accidents this past year or so)

Good news is, though, that my grandma has already agreed to go with me on Saturday so I'll definitely be able to come, but if there is anyone here in the SD area that would like to carpool, I'm open for that too, that way I can tell my grandma she doesn't have to come with me (but I think she'll have a blast, anyways!)

Speaking of, HBADPi, is there a way to get another ticket for my grandma? If not, that's okay, I'll just get one online or as soon as we get there. I CANNOT wait for next Saturday to meet all you lovely ladies! :)

I emailed HBADPI and I suggested that we all meet at 10am in front of Universal Studios and then find a place to meet up with adpiucf at 2pm.
I also suggested that we wear our letters. I'm sure some of you are like 'why'? My line of thinking is that when waiting out front and for adpiucf, it's much easier to spot someone in letters you are certain to recognize. You would where a hat or a shirt or whatever. I mean I know that I'll be wearing at least a hat that has the letters on it.

I also mentioned to HBADPI, that maybe would could try inviting other sisters in the LA area that may not be a member of GC. I'm sure most of you feel the same as me, I love meeting sisters.

If you guys have emails for sisters that you think that might be interested to come definitely send them my way. I've tried several times (unsuccessfully) to get in touch with the Orange county alumnae association but I did mention the get together in the last email I sent their president. I'll see if I can email the presidents of Cal State Fullerton, USC, and UCLA and let them know.
