i dont know but i am going to bid on the one that is up for grabs now, the all pearl badge that the seller was nice enough to specify "I cannot donate, so please don't ask"... yeah another way of saying "I am a greedy jerk"

kind of off-topic, but why would anyone use the buy it now feature when it is set at $250?? you can get one for much cheaper at ihq, right?

Yes you can but if we were to be fanatics about making sure they don't end up in non agd hands we could just buy them now.... as it is anyone can bid on them and maybe even win them.

If I ever strick it rich I hope that I would be able to set up a fund to purchase those ransomed badges.

Here's 2 bagdes and a 50 year pin. They think that the plain badge is a pledge pin.

There is an Arc of Epsilon Pi with Diamond on the badge holder pendant too. From looking at the buying history of the current high bidder and names of others, it looks like all who are bidding are AGDs.

I bid on the two badges, 50 year pin and Arc with Diamond with the pendant necklace.. the old bidder didn't look like an AGD from the feedback I read. Can't tolerate the thought of all of those going to a non AGD.

I wish I had enough extra $$$ to save some more :( I'll feel better if those pins go to an AGD though! keep on it Dee :D

When I saw it yesterday, it didn't look like an AGD was bidding on it. I just took another look and there is now. Sorry about that.

Wow. That is cool. Most likely an Alpha Gam had that piece commissioned, and it is probably quite old. Thanks for letting us know about that one. I would bid on it in a second. But don't want to bid against squirrely girl. ;) :)

I just received the items I won last week. There is a 14 pearl badge which is very very thick, like the old ones. I was initiated in '84 and this one is MUCH thicker than mine. There is an Arc of Epsilon Pi with Diamond (which I was awarded in '99), a thin gold badge.. don't know if it is 14K or the coated one, a 50 year pin, the pendant/badge holder AND the seller tossed in a squirrel pin and three little grey squirrels so I guess from my nick she figured out that I'm an AGD. I can see wearing the pendant and then, when my little legacy gets initiated (fingers crossed) giving her MY original badge. Very cool!

Okay, this is really starting to tick me off (well it has for a while, but three?)

Anyway, take a look at the first one with the A guard on it. If it is from one school that isn't Alpha why does it have A with it?

Someone please buy these... if I didn't have two already I would try.

If I hadn't gotten a new one recently I would go for one of these.

One of the Alums from my chapter just told me she lost her badge and would like one of the ones I've rescued. So I've found a home for the latest one.

Hey AB I will totally let you know... having had a recent break in I totally know the feeling... I was just lucky that I didn't have mine there at the time. I now try to hide everything but the best place really would be in a safe... which we need to get.

The members only section of the web site is under construction and they are adding new features but I don't know what those features are going to be yet! A bulletin board would be a fun feature though!

Hey Ladies... some person has listed a badge wrong on Ebay... if the link doesn't work put Alpha Gamma Delta in the search and do a title/description search. I think it is listed as Epsilon Delta Alpha... but it is ours.


Did we ever decide if we would bid against each other on items we want? For example... I like the plate that is on there but Susan bidded first, so is it okay to bid against her but not?Mislabeled Badge

have you tried pm'ing her to express your interest in it? she may just be bidding on it to keep it out of non-alpha gam hands and if she knows you want it she probably won't be upset if you outbid her.

I haven't decided yet how interested I am... but that is a good point... this question has just come up before about out bidding sisters.... and we just didn't make a finally decision!

my own personal opinion is that we should KNOW who's bidding so that we don't outbid them JUST for the sake of keeping out of a non alpha gam's hands. however, if you really want something and you're willing to bid fair and square . . . well isn't that the point of ebay?! just my two cents there...

sad is exactly the word i though when i saw it - to think that a member spent that much time contributing to the fraternity and then their badge ends up on an online auction site...

Hi there ladies...I will de-lurk for a moment.

My e-bay identity is LegallyBlonde1971 and I just won the plain gold badge that was on ebay earlier this week. I don't know if the girl that was selling it gave up her badge or what exactly her status was, but I always wanted the plain badge as well. Now, we had a break in and my undergrad badge was stolen. I had a badge pendant too, but it is gone. :(

I wanted a badge to wear to alum panhell and just once and a while and I always liked the plain ones too, as they look very sharp on black.

If and when I bid on another badge--probably when a crown pearl comes up, preferably with a diamond, I will let you know.

Oh...the badge with the Arc that was just auctioned. Ugh...I agree how sad.
