Do You Make Your Bed?!
I am on the phone with a soror and was telling her that I do not make my bed and she got offended with me!!
Do you make your bed? NO!!! |
BOO Hiss to CT4 for not making her bed:D
Yes, I make my bed everyday like a good girl should.... To all the non bed makers....it is now your official New Year's Resolution to begin making your bed. |

shyyyyyttttttttt! LOL I make mine up at my mother's (just started doing it),when I have company, or when I visit someone. :p |

 Making it up is a waste of my time. That is 3 minutes I could sleep in or SOMETHING!!! :D |
the lazy way
I have a sheet and a duvet cover on my comforter. I just pull them back flat, make sure nothing is crooked, throw the pillows on, and I'm done. One good thing about student housing is that the tiny beds are easy to make and the room is so small one side is next to the wall.

The only time I really make my bed is if I'll be gone for a while, i.e. vacation. Other than that I close my door, no one should be in my bedroom while I'm not there anyway. |
I never sleep under the sheets only under the comforter. When I am at my in-laws I make it up, but other than that...puuuhleeeze! Plus my husband leavs after me, so it really is his problem, and he actually makes it up. I guess he needs to be good at something domestic :p :p I have another question...
Do you sleep with the air on? I am from Cali and I NEVER slept with the air conditioner NEVER EVER, but when I went to Louisiana it was like a sin to not have the air on even when it was cold. My husband and I fight all the time. So air or no air? |

I sleep with the air on and I make the bed everyday. There is nothing like getting into the bed when it was made . . . that's like getting into the bed after running a marathon or something if you don't make the bed. The bed has been open all day and if you needed to put something on the bed, you would be putting something in the bed. When I was in college, it was essential when I lived in the dorm to make the bed because even though I preferred that people didn't sit on my bed and actually asked them not to, there is no telling what happened on my bed when I was out of the room (though I think my roommates had more respect for me than that). I learned to make the bed when I was a child and have been making my bed since then.

it was a requirement to make the bed when i was growing up but now, when i visit home, i don't make it. weird.
when i was in school, i would have so many visitors that i kept my bed made. i didn't want people to see my room messy nor did i want people to sit on my sheets. now, i make up the bed sometimes. i calculate how long it will be from the time i get out of the bed to the time i'm getting back in it. if i'm not going to be gone for a substantial period of time, i don't make it--unless i expect company. but, i have satin sheets and a duvet so when i make it, i just pull the duvet and it carries the sheets with it. takes about 3 seconds! :D |

As far as making up the bed, we both run out of the house so fast in the morning that we don't even worry about it. When I still lived at home, my mom used to fuss about me leaving and not making my bed. She would say stuff like, "What if I get sick at work and someone has to bring me home?". I would reply, "They shouldn't be looking in my room or your room that hard to begin with". The simple remedy to me was to just close the door since company shouldn't be disrespectful and enter closed rooms unless they are requested to do so. |

no make bed!!!!
I dont really sleep under the sheets only the comforter... so i really have no reason to make the bed. And as for the air... i leave the air on during the spring and summer, and in the fall and winter i keep the ceiling fan on. but i guess its strange that i sleep under a comforter no matter the temp. i love the south but i rather be cold than hot when i'm asleep... and i rather be hot than cold when i am awake. it works out in theory!
|
Yes I make the bed. The only time that I sleep with the air on is when I go back to IL.
|
Since I leave first in the morning, it's not my responsibility to make the bed, but it's usually not made when I get home. I must admit that I must make the bed once I get home. I can't stand to get into an unmade bed. I'm just talking pulling the sheet and spread up from the bottom, how hard is that...and takes little time.
Now oddly enough when I lived at home, I never made my bed, when I was in college, I made it everday. As for the sleeping with the air on, I only do it when it's really hot at night. I can't sleep in heat. My basement feels like the artic, so having my central air on just makes it worse. |
Do I make my bed?? Every once in a while, when the mood hits. Other than that, no haps man!!!
Do I sleep with AC? In the warmer months and even now (my bedroom still feels warmer than the rest of the how). I love to have the AC on and sleep w/ the comforter on (although some nights I still get too hot and start sweating, which feels really yucky!!!!). |

I only make my bed when I'm at the ST family house in San Diego. My house up here in OC -- nope.
:p |
I make my bed almost everyday. I think that it just makes my room look a lot better. My bed is huge and takes up most of the space in my bedroom and it is the first thing that you see when you walk in. When it is unmade, it makes the whole room look junky, especially since there are fifteen pillows that go on it. Boyfriend swears that this is excessive, but I just love all of my pillows and I think it makes the bed look inviting and hotel-esque.
|
I try to make my bed half the times during the week. On mornings when I have my 8:00am class, it's impossible. I've always been a fan of fancy bedding and when the bed isn't made, it lessens the overall look of the room. My bedroom is bright red and bamboo with feng shui accents and the print on the comforter is too beautiful for the bed to not be made. Also, there are about 1000 accent pillows on my bed, so if I don't make it, pillows are all over the floor and it gets messy.
I HAVE to sleep with the air on and a fan. I like being cold and warming up under a blanket. Guess it's a habit. |
Of course I do...
When I have company! :D Other than that...NO WAY |
sometimes i make my bed. it depends on how i feel when i wake up that morning. it may get done or not. sometimes i am in such a rush. i just dont have time.
|
i make my bed up daily but it's not perfect. my comforter hides the wrinkles:D
i have to have the AC in the warmer months b/c i can't sleep if i'm hot. i prefer to sleep in a cool room w/my comforter, too. preferably over my head. |
Well I guess hell officially froze over, because I made my bed up this morning. I bought a new comforter and it's so cute. I like to see how nice the bed looks. But, I know that this feeling will soon fade. LOL

My future hubby likes the air and the fan on too and I ask if he's lost his damn mind! People lose feeling in their faces sleeping like that.
Before Kamryn I would make the bed. I would cook every night and morning too but now that is simply unheard of:o |
Yep, as long as I am in my folks house....
Despite the AC and fan in the summertime, it gets hot as hayle in the night time. I burn up whenever I sleep under my covers, sometimes I just sleep on top of the covers with a light weight blanket, my folks swear that I do that to avoid making up my bed. |
I made my bed today. :D
Only because of a special project, lol. |
I HAVE to make my bed everyday...period. I also MAKE my son make his up everyday.
I just have issues climbing into an unmade bed at night. Also, my room is visually availoable to visitors and guests so I can't have my covers lookin' crazy. But then, visitors can't see my son's room and I feel the same so it's more to do with my own bed making issues than that fact that others can see. |

When were you at SU? I was there most of the '90's, so I am sure that our paths have crossed before. |
I can say that I really make my bed maybe twice a week. Other than that I wont sleep under the sheet I will just sleep under the comforter and maybe pull it up after I wake up but not all the time.
|
Although I sleep better in a freshly made bed, I tend not to make mine up on a regular basis. I think I'll try to do a better job with that though.
|
I make the bed everyday. I can not get dressed on an unmade bed and I don't like things from the street or clothes that have been outside touching the sheets that have to touch my skin.
Even when we go away, I make the beds in the hotel room too!!! I like the fan on when we are sleeping, unless it is cold outside. :) |
Personally, I don't feel my room is clean unless my bed is made. That is something that has to be done daily no matter what!!!

Childhood: Yes...I HAD to :p
College: Not really...whenever I wanted to. Now: Yes, every morning...This is the first thing I do...I do not live alone. Never use a fan...for some reason it brings on a cold and stuffy nose the next few days. I use A/C. |
