So the news is that Bennifer are no longer...frankly, I am glad--they just seemed like such an odd couple together. (Like I know them personally or anything!) The whole thing came about pretty suddenly...I am sensing a scandalous story behind the scenes!

i saw on the news that they are taking a break from each other. the official break up hasnt happened yet. we all know that it is going to happen.

I heard on the radio this morning (straining to hear the car radio over my kids' chatter!) that Ben simply could not go through with it and that, when the wedding was supposedly "postponed" last week, Ben had actually backed out completely but didn't want to embarass JLo. They had a very public dinner at some famous LA restaurant so everyone could see them together, but apparently that was just to make it look like they were still together. So, JLo is apparently now in Miami and Ben spent the weekend in Las Vegas where he went to some bigtime boxing match then caught Britney Spears' show there. Or so they said on the radio.

On MSN.com, there's an article about Jennybenny's breakup, and it quotes Christian "Strip Club" Slater saying:" I'm pretty 'Bennifried' out. I mean, who gives a flying Affleck, that's what I say," said Slater prior to the breakup.

Even if they are over, we're still going to have to hear about them for a long time!

hmmmm...why do I think this whole thing was just fake from the start? That it was all one big publicity stunt. Ben and Jen break-up. Wow...never saw that coming. :rolleyes:

I'm glad it's done. I think it's best for both of them to go their seperate ways.

I wonder if I won the work pool on this....and I wonder who JLo's next victim will be. Also, Ben needs to start dressing like a man again. He's looking too "metrosexual" for me these days.

I don't think the whole relationship was a publicity stunt. That just seems like alot of trouble to get some extra press. But their night out at the Ivy in LA was definitely a stunt. The papparazzi stakes that place out 24/7; celebs always get their pics taken if they eat there. Even though I've hated on J.Lo in past threads, I actually feel bad for her (if it's true that Ben dumped her). I'm sure the feeling will pass in a few days. ;)

I read about this last night and was sorta surprised (amazingly). I was MORE surprised to hear it was Ben's doing...he finally came to his senses. I mean I honestly can't blame him...the stupid prenuptual aggreement was a little over the edge. What more does J Lo, who makes millions a year, want??? MONEY! And Ben probably JUST realized it!

I also don't think it was a publicity stunt...the whole relationship anyways. I mean I know stars make millions, but really, who would waste their money on gifts and homes and a wedding that ISN'T going to take place?!?! Not even J Lo!

Am I the only one who thinks that this is just some lame publicity stunt and they are actually going to get back together? Not that I particularly care because I'm tired of hearing about them... but I still think they're going to get married nonetheless.

I think they might hell it seems like Jen really likes to get married for short periods of time anyways. why not make it a 3rd time lol :) either way i could really care less.

BTW, I heard that their prenup was completely ridiculous, something like if he left her or cheated on her, she got half of his money, but if she left him or cheated on him, she got to keep her money and he got to keep his.

LMAO! :D Couldn't have stated it better. Hubby and I always used to like him pre-JLo...he seemed so down-to-earth. Once their relationship became public, he just got so...HIGH MAINTENANCE!

i agree about ben becoming high maintenence. he just got way too 'pretty'. it was gross

and when will singers learn not to put their significant other in a music video with them? it is like the kiss of death. few couples make it after they appear in a video together. now 'jenny from the block' will forever link ben and j lo.
speaking of which, what was that video the first brought together p diddy and j lo.? i cant remember the name. anyway, i still love j lo ONLY cause of her song 'if you had my love'. that was her best song. and that video was awesome.

smiley 21, I think the P.Diddy/J.Lo video you're talking about was "Been Around the World". The one where they did a dance routine together at the end of it. That was a good video. Before she got on my nerves, I really liked "Waiting for Tonight" (song and video).

Even I do not really care for Jennifer Lopez that much as an actress I feel really bad for her if this story is true. Getting you heart broken is really hard and I would not wish that on anyone.

If even a third of the gossip is true, and with her track record for leaving men, I don't feel sorry for her.

If it was a publicity stunt, well, then, it worked. We're here talking about them.
But if it wasn't, then I know how much it hurts when love fails...

I really wish them both the best regardless. I just REALLY want to see more philanthropic activities from both of them...What's the use in having all that money/fame if you don't give back??

Well, I don't know how much "community service" type stuff Ben does, but he helped create Project Greenlight to give an opportunity to unknown screenwriters, etc.

Maybe these people are actors and the reason they are "acting" like they aren't getting married is because they want all the big media frenzy to stop so they can get married in peace.

This is my theory as well. They are probably on a beach somewhere relaxing with drinks (and matching wedding bands, pink of course) in their hands.

I feel the same way. I think, and this is totally MY speculation, but that maybe the relationship started out as infatuation for both, then they tried to force a significant relationship out of it. I kinda thought something was fishy about their relationship when they started giving each other large expensive gifts. To me that made the realtionship seem superficial.

It's not gossip. We are discussing current events. The 'Bennifer' story may not have an impact on the strength of the Euro against the Yen or settle peace in nations at war now, but if it is in 'People' magazine or on 'Access Hollywood' it is a newsworthy event that must be discussed. ;)

That wouldn't explain why they are currently in separate cities.

Besides, if they wanted the press to stop following them, they wouldn't have faked a break-up -- I'm sure that they know that the press will be tailing them for weeks now in order to catch their "rebound relationships" with random models and singers and actors a la Britney and Justin.

Supposedly, Ben was already seen making out with some British singer "friend" of his backstage at the Tonight Show .

she was really cute and then dated P Diddy and she became J hoe.... I mean seriously, she lost half her name and most of her clothes too!

As for Ben- here;s the story, so Matt Damon was at Derby two years ago and I was there and he had pictures from it and last week he and Matt were hanging out and Ben saw that pic. So of course he falls in love and tells matt he has to dump that big ole booty for some KY lovin!
He wants a southern girl not some freaking snotty brat... that's still Jenny from the block!
