LOL. bennifer......

their wedding this weekend got postponed. they said it is because the media attention is too much. hello? the media is not going away. i dont think this wedding is going to happen...

bethany1982 09-10-2003 08:08 PM

OMG, I'm not sure I can continue to live.

Hootie 09-10-2003 08:13 PM

I heard on Hollywood Access that Ben signed a prenuptual agreement that if he cheats on Jen that she can go after half his assets! Now you tell me...who in this relationship should be signing a prenuptual...Ben, who is less likely to cheat...or J.Ho who is less likely to stay married to him in another 4 months!?

Imthachamp 09-10-2003 08:14 PM

so negative :(

i forgot about that. it is all about her ego that she stores in her behind. not sure if i agree with her getting half of his money. that aint right. but you know how money is getting tight for j. lo:rolleyes:

MereMere21 09-10-2003 08:51 PM

like oh my god, now who will we live vicariously through???

GeoffZ 09-10-2003 10:36 PM

I heard on E! that Bennifer was going to use 3 decoy brides at three different locations, to throw the press off. WTF?!! That's just riddiculous.

not really. when this is the wedding of the year, and the press has booked every hotel room in the city.

i never understood why people hated on them. if they are in love, let them be. if they wanna have a private wedding, let them be.

girls especially, why do you hate jlo?...is it jealousy??

I actually don't hate J. Lo. I love her music and some of her movies....I don't buy into her clothing or perfume line, but that's just because it's not my style.

I think people rip on her so much because she's had more marriages than us girls have shoes! J/K!

Most Hollywood couples say that when they had their wedding it was private, but yes, they did stand on a balcony or whatever and let the press have their pictures and that was that.

I can see both sides to the story, but it is my opinion that if you are famous you are giving up some of your privacy and you almost owe some of your success to your fans...and if the fans wanna see a picture of you, then why not oblige?

Optimist Prime 09-11-2003 12:18 PM

I thought she was only married once. To that one dancer.

Yes you know I have been feeling faint....

The sun shines a little less blue now that their wedding is canceled...

moe.ron 09-11-2003 12:22 PM

Look like the wedding is off.

she was married before that. it was to some guy i dont know. it only lasted around a year i think.

AchtungBaby80 09-11-2003 12:47 PM

Yes, she's been married twice. But hey, that's still less than my grandmother. :p I don't know why, but "Bennifer" makes me ill...maybe it's just because the media is saturated with tales about them. I would like to have her big pink diamond, though. ;)

Yeah, buuuuuut...the home will need repairs, the car will depreciate, and the clothes will wear out--but the diamond will last forever (or at least a while longer than the other stuff)! :D

JohnsDGsweethrt 09-11-2003 01:32 PM

I can't stand J-ho b/c she has made a mockery of the insitute of marriage. I believe marrige is holy, a gift from God and not to be entired into lightly. Of course she isn't the only one, which is why I hate Elizabeth Taylor too. You've been married 9 times, hell maybe its you! I also think J-Lo is very selfish but I don't know her personally of course. I don't think the marriage will last anyway so who cares if its postponed.

GeoffZ 09-11-2003 02:53 PM

Yeah her first marriage to Ojani Noa lasted less than a year. Same thing with Cris Judd. So who knows what will happen with Ben.

Peaches-n-Cream 09-11-2003 04:19 PM

I don't hate J. Lo. I like Ben Affleck. I'll be willing to be his rebound when they divorce. ;)

and if that don't last, there's always P.Diddy to give her Money so she can buy a new one.

Look acting is a job just like being a lawyer or a waitress is a job. MOST actors do it because they LOVE to act, not because they want to be famous. Becoming incredibly famous is an albatross to many actors, as it does not allow them to live a normal life. And they are, by and large, just people like you and I.

Because they do what they love they deserve to have one of the most important days of their lives turn into a circus? HELL NO.

Now I believe JLo courts the media more than your average performer, but that's not the issue here.

The media is out of control.

Amy
issue hits closer to home than I want to admit.

You mean one of the THREE most important days of her life . . . ;)

They aren't going to be able to get away from the media, and in fact, they're probably wasting more energy trying to escape the media than they would if they just agreed to pose for a couple pictures and be done with it.

And as for the media being out of control -- if there wasn't the demand for it, they wouldn't be. We have nobody to blame for this but ourselves.

MereMere21 09-11-2003 06:13 PM

I have a hard time feeling sorry for them - they are more than compensated for their "troubles"

but since i dont like jewerly very much (i am not a normal girl), it will work for me. the repairs for the home can still be paid for with that ring!:D

Yes I agree. 1. JLo brings it on herself. 2. If it was ME, I would have my photog release a handful of hand picked photos, and hopefully, that would keep it at bay.

I know plenty of celebs who've been able to keep their weddings, births of children out of the media, because they do not make a habit of courting it.

Even Jen and Brad's wedding was much less a circus than this, because 1. they don't court the media like JLo and 2. they had photg release a pic, thereby satisfying their appetites somewhat.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for JLo, but other celebs that are not so media frenzy savvy, do they ask for it? No.

Its just a job. Yeah they are paid well, but that doesn't compensate for a loss of freedom.

MereMere21 09-11-2003 07:05 PM

I do agree that the press goes to the extreme - I mean hiding in bushes, practically stalking, c'mon......at the same time though, would these celebrities give all their money back to be dirt poor again just to avoid being recognized? I don't think so

If anything they brought MORE press on themselves for post-poning the wedding. Now everyone is watching and wondering when it will take place. At least before the hoopla and media circus would have been over with this weekend.

CatStarESP4 09-12-2003 02:05 AM

I don't understand why they announced the date knowing that the Stalkerazzi would have a picnic/field day with this! Or was it leaked out by some source? I don't get it!

socialbutterfly 09-12-2003 02:41 AM

I think if they really wanted to keep the wedding private then they shoiuld just do it in one of their MANY homes...so what if you have all this money and want to have a big wedding...this is her 3rd!...HELLO!...been there, done that!

Its the only way they are going to have true privacy, you don't NEED 100+ guest list if all you want to do is just get married, all you need is the two of you.

I'm sorry that someone is leaking info about her "day" but you're in the media, so you can't just be so shocked that people wont leave you alone. I think its a double negative...if they hound you, you hate them, if they aren't anywhere around you, you aren't news worthy....they both just need to buck up and shut up!

just a quick vent :D

LeslieAGD 09-13-2003 09:32 AM

I heard that this postponement had to do with J. Lo wanting to get married in the Catholic church...She had to have her ex-hubbies sign something saying that not only did they get a divorce, but it's like the married never happened. Her first ex refused, saying some very blunt things about J. Lo.

Anyone else hear anything about this?

GeoffZ 09-13-2003 04:20 PM

I heard that they were supposed to get married in a Catholic church in Santa Barbra, but I didn't hear about her having to get her execs to sign something. I can see her first huband not doing it. He was talking smack about her earlier this year in the tabloids.

AOII_LB93 09-13-2003 06:26 PM

The story I heard was that another couple had already planned their own wedding at the Four Seasons in Santa Barbara and then JenBen swooped in and said they wanted to have it there. The hotel then asked the other couple for concessions for BenJen's wedding and the other couple said basically "Bite me!" and then leaked it to the press.
