Capital One is having a contest for best college mascot. I think the site said it was Big 10 vs. SEC. Right now, the majority of the votes are going to the Univ. of S. C.'s mascot Cocky and Ohio State's mascot. You can vote once a day.

Oh and just out of curiosity, what is a Hilltopper. I go to Murray State, so I know they're WKU's mascot, but I never understood where they got that idea for a mascot, other than the really large hill they have on/in campus.

I HATE the Ohio State mascot. Whenever we have football games against him, he comes here and he freaks me out!!!

I just voted for Cocky again. He was in the lead early in the contest, but the Ohio State mascot seems to have a solid lead. All my USC Kappas need to log on!

Totally irrelevant -- but why isn't Penn State's mascot on there? I have a mascot-crush on the Nittany Lion. He's very cute. When I was at an Iowa homecoming game, we had 2 Herky the Hawks beating him up, and I felt bad. I mean, a lion could totally take two birds, but it just didn't seem fair. Poor guy.

the cocky one is funny... but on the topic of mascots my high school mascot was a papermaker (well we were called "the papermakers"). but one i think is even funnier is the fighting pretzels
