What's your hairstyle

My current hairstyle is braided (pixie) upsweep with blonde weave. I get more men smiling at me now that I have blonde hair (weird).

I'm staying blonde for now.

Azul 09-02-2003 01:19 AM

My current "Do" is two strand twist

TRUBLUBU2 09-02-2003 03:18 AM

i <heart> being natural!

right now: two strand twists into--> untwisted curly 'fro into--> curly-textured BIG afro-puff (currently in afro puff mode! :D )

earlier in the summer: tiny cornrows with designs in the front, straight down in the back, sometimes with cowrie shells...

jll79 09-02-2003 10:17 AM

I currently have a layered weave that I am about to take out. I will be getting my hair done in cornrows for the semester.

TheEpitome1920 09-03-2003 03:20 PM

I have a chin length bob. :D

sigmadiva 09-03-2003 03:38 PM

Not too exciting.

My hair is relaxed, parted on the right side with bangs. I set my hair with big beer can rollers so that my hair falls in wavy curls at the shoulder. I like my style, but I've wanted to try something new. I don't have the guts to cut it. :(

Strive 09-03-2003 04:08 PM

Before you cut it, buy a short wig, first.

zetafg 09-03-2003 05:10 PM

I have cornrows in the front with a curly back.

Wonderful1908 09-03-2003 06:47 PM

I change my hair every week! I have a "cascade ball" just got it yesterday, its a hard as hell up do! Country but cute!

Honeykiss1974 09-03-2003 07:53 PM

my hair is BORRRIINNNGGG

Its relaxed, long with a side part, and jet black.

It used to be brown with honey highlights, but the highlights did damage my hair, so I keeping it its natural color for a while.

Highlighting my hair was its only "change" and not that I can't do that anymore, I am "style-less" :(

Shelacious 09-03-2003 08:03 PM

For the past 6 months

I've been wearing it relaxed, parted down the middle and bascially straight/slightly curled. It's medium brown, no highlights. My hair goes to the almost my bottom bra strap, so it's just hangin' there.

Sometimes I get it into my head to let my relaxer grow out, and other times I want to cut it and color. I may cut it into layers next month and do a rinse. Really, I'm too lazy to actually get it cut into a cute style and maintain it properly.

Lady2000 09-06-2003 11:13 AM

My hair is also BORING!!! I have been wearing a long wrap since middle school. I'm currently looking for a new look. My only set-back is that my face is really round and it's hard to find the look that I feel is right for me. Any suggestions as to where I can find a style would be great!!!

Pretty Kitty 09-07-2003 04:32 PM

I suppose my hair is pretty boring as well. I just got highlights though, so my hair is dark brown with bronze highlights. It is sholder length and reminds me of Oprah's hair lol!!! I HATE doing hair. I don't even wash my hair at home. I have to go to the beauty shop weekly. I admire all of you ladies who can do you own hair, cause I can't and it gets sooooo expensive. I just consider it a bill like the electricity!!! LOL!

I currently have a short cropped hairstyle like Halle Berry wore in the '90's. It's always been my favorite haircut on me. If I grow it out, I usually wear ponytails.

abaici 09-15-2003 08:15 PM

Going natural again...

My hair is currently a curly afro. I wear a handband to pull it back. I like it and it's a style I wore in college for a bit senior year. It was perfect for summer, but I think I'll get braids next week.

Downside-It makes me look younger than I am. I mean, I already look young, but it makes me look a lot younger. The few times I ordered a drink out, I was carded. Flattering if done occasionally. But, now it's getting ridiculous

Black Jackie O.

My style for nearly 10 years has been a relaxed mid-length bob that I have styled at times to look like Jackie O. back in the Camelot days.:) I'm a bottle dark redhead with bright highlights. I could wear my hair wavy, but I only tend to do that when I'm on vacation.

Dancerella1908 10-07-2003 12:00 AM

My hair style changes constantly to fit the event I'm attending or mood I'm in!!!

Well, last night, I changed the color of my hair. I am no longer Jet Black, but a pretty brunette. :D

I have Kinky Twists. I used to have micros but I am tender-headed and they hurt so much getting them put in. The Twists didn't hurt at all and they look so Afro-Centric. I was thinking about getting dreads but these are so much cuter and they aren't pernament so I will be getting these for awhile. The only thing bad about them is the length I have now is chin length after they curled it, its hard to do anything else but where them down and curly, so next time I get them, they will be longer.:D

Gina1201 10-17-2003 01:11 PM

I have microbraids with the wavy hair instead of straight.

"Au Naturale" Baby! :)

Well, I've been rocking my locs since 98/99... They used to be "baby" locs. Now they're just sweeping at my shoulder. I've dyed it a few times--reddish-brown, auburn, even bronze. Now my roots are natural (black) and the rest of my hair is brown, and a little lighter on the tips. People always ask if/how I dyed it like that. I just let it grow out. Occasionally I rock a wig or two, just to break the monotony! But I looooove my locs!

Invisible Braids

I'm getting the invisible braids this weekend. Been playing the phony pony for a month. I look so cute in it and much younger then my 38 years.

My_Legacy 01-13-2004 01:07 PM

I have micro braids and I swear by them....I luv em!

Right now, the length is 20in. I want them a lil bit longer, so i can cut and layer them into a hip style.

NinjaPoodle 01-13-2004 01:43 PM

My hair is about an inch and a half past my shoulders. It's all one length, split down the side with long bangs. Never even thought once of cutting it (trim yes, cut no) It's black/brown right now but I'm going to get some subtle highlights again. I keep it conservative but it's versatile. :)

jojapeach 01-15-2004 01:45 PM

I like to change up between twists, double strands, and the afro. My current 'do is an untwisted wild afro. It's not a huge Angela Davis afro, but you can call it my mad scientist look, but I LOVE it! BTW, I've been a redhead since 2001, and nothing will change it.

You need to get the unrefined shea butter. (cream color and it has no scent) That should stop the itching.

Right now my hair is should length dark dark black. I will be getting (for the first time) medium size micros in a few weeks. I inten to keep them in until September.

TheEpitome1920 06-11-2004 12:11 PM

Where do I get that? I bought some braid spray and its not helping. I've also used seabreeze.

Honeykiss1974 06-11-2004 12:28 PM

Style is the same, but I am now back to Oriential Black (courtesy of Bigen).

First off, Seabreeze dries out the skin. And Braid spray on helps when you get the base (shea butter). you will need to go to a beauty supply store. If they don't have it, you might want to check out a "Whole Foods"/organizc food type store

TheEpitome1920 06-11-2004 12:48 PM

okay, thanks!

Braid care

When I was researching how to care for my dive into braids I found this website...

Caring for Braids

It told me all about the shea butter and what to look for.
