NYC NPC Alumnae Group
 

Are any of the women on GC involved with the NYC Alumnae chapter of NPC? The president of our Chi O Alum chapter and I are just looking into getting involved. Anyone have any experience with them? Please share! :)

I've only recently moved to NYC so I don't have much to say about the group. I don't know how much you know about the group so I'll just tell you what I know! They had an event last month that I went to and met some great people. We saw Legally Blonde 2 down near Union Sq :) There's a happy hour event Sept 4 which is rescheduled from the blackout. There seems to be a wide range of ages which is good too. I have some contact info for the group if you need it!

Thanks, Michelle. I think we have the contact info we need. She and I are planning on going to the happy hour, so maybe I will meet you there? Our prez heard of some fundraiser they did with renting a movie theatre, and half the proceeds going to the NPC Scholarship fund. We were interested in that! And it just seems they have some good programming. Maybe I will see you on the 4th!

Is this general NPC? That sounds great! I've been invited to some of the AXO alumnae group's stuff, but not to an NYC-wide event. Please let me know what you all do! :)

I have been wondering also if there was a NYC Alumnae Panhel for a while. I am still an active but I am planning a big reunion so I was trying out find out if there was alumnae panhel so I could include in a list of way for alumnae to remain/become more involved. Its listed as existing on the NPC website but no trace of it after a websearch. If someone has the info could they also PM it to me - I would love to let our alumnae know about it. It sounds like it could be cool - I know I will definitely become ivolved when I become an alumnae.

So, who all went last night? I, sadly, did not make it. I was having dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in a while and time got away from me. Hope you all met and had fun. I got an e-vite to a picnic on the 21st. KD is sponsoring it for Women's Friendship Day and inviting all the Panhellenic Alum. This should be really fun, especially if the weather cooperates!

Me too! It was so great to meet Munchkin and ZTAMich! :) I met lots of Alpha Phis and a couple of Thetas too. They came from schools all over the country.

It's too bad that you couldn't make it Kathy. Hopefully, I will be able attend the Picnic on the 21st and meet you there. :)

It was a fun night! I looked at my watch at 8 and the next thing I knew it was after 10! It was great meeting you both :) always nice putting a face with a name. I'll be at the KD Friendship Day and hope to see you all there as well.

I can't wait to see how the National Women's Friendship Day event goes! Wish we could put on something of that magnitude here.

Is anyone going to the NYC National Women's Friendship Day picnic in Central Park on Sunday?

what exactly are they doing for National Women's Friendship Day? Is it just a picnic or are there activities planned?

It's picnic in Central Park at Pilgrim Hill by the conservatory water, 74th Street and 5th Avenue on Sunday, September 21, 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Everyone will bring her own lunch, and dessert will be provided by the organizers.

Cost of the event is Free, but there is a SUGGESTED donation to enter the museum.

Rooftop Garden of the Metropolitan Museum of Art,1000 Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street

WE WILL GATHER BY THE SOUTH BAR AND THE GIANT TROWEL SCULPTURE

This is the ORIGINAL All-Greek Party!! Invite your friends and
coworkers,Greeks and non-Greeks alike for this after-work cocktail party on the rooftop of the Met overlooking Central Park.

Please note that this event is NOT associated with the Met, pls do not call them -- should there be rain or a chance of rain, you can call the Met and ask them if the roof will be open - they will not be able to tell you if the gathering is still taking place. Should the roof be closed that evening, the event will be moved to Mustang Grill on 2nd Avenue between 84th and 85th Streets

That sounds really cool! I am definitely going to at least TRY to go!

I cannot, however, go to the picnic, even though I thought I could when I responded. My silly professor decided to schedule a "mandatory" :rolleyes: walking tour of Lower Manhattan for 1 PM Sunday.

Oh, the Met sounded fun. I didn't see this until Friday at 8pm and I am home in Westchester now. :( But I am sure you are having a GREAT time as the weather is beautiful!

I am planning on the picnic Sunday so I hope to meet you girls then. Maybe I'll swing by the Duane Reade for an instant camera...

It was 80 degrees and sunny so it would have been a great night if the Met hadn't closed the rooftop in anticipation of hurricane Isabel. I walked to Mustang. I didn't know anyone, so I left. I was home by 7:30. :(

Hopefully, the picnic tomorrow will be better. *fingers crossed*

The picnic was great fun! I met so many people including xokathy! i also saw ZTAMich again. Everyone is so nice. The weather was beautiful, a perfect day for a picnic. I can't wait until the next event! :) :D
