Psi - University of Alabama 57 QUOTA

I did hear what Gamma Alpha's bid night total was ... I can't remember, lol. but I know that they were working hard on COB. I've been very busy and haven't had a chance to find out what their final (if there is a final, lol) total is yet. Bet it's wonderful!!

A little squirrel told me they have 40 so far, quota was 60.

Gamma Tau

Gamma Tau has 17 (?) new members..I think, it was kinda crazy last night, lol. Quota was 21. This is the first year in at least 3 that we didn't make quota, but the nms' that we got, the chapter reallllly wanted. For several of the nms, they had been torn between AGD and other sororities so that is an added up-lifter, lol. The chapter was already busy discussing pnms that they really wanted to COB in the next few days.

The chapter is looking forward to COB events, plus they have the annual Taste of Carrollton Thursday night which they participate in and then a sisterhood event at the Braves game Friday night.

One thing that I admire about this chapter is its close sisterhood. I'm not quite sure, but I think the chapter is at Chapter Total.
:D

greeklawgirl 09-02-2003 11:44 AM

Lynn, I'm sure that the chapter will pick itself up, dust itself off and COB up to quota. Gamma Tau is a traditionally strong chapter and I have no doubts that they will bounce back just fine! :) Keep us updated on them.

Tonya, you also need to add Kentucky. They made quota, too. :)

PS: SF State's rush is in two weeks. I'll let everyone know what I hear! From what I've been told, they are returning with 42 (Total is 45) so hopefully they will have a really successful year!

AGDLynn 09-02-2003 05:13 PM

That is one thing that is good about Greek life at WG. If a sorority doesn't make quota one year, chances are excellent they will make it the next year. It's that planet alignment thingie, lol. ;)

theta sig agd 09-02-2003 08:35 PM

11 baby squirrels is a great number!! They will get quota! Keep it up Gamma Tau!!

Recruitment News!!!

News from Arkansas!

Ladies, from the Epsilon Zeta chapter on August 30th we got 31 New Membews! We went over quota. We got the absolute best girls and I am very proud of them. I know that I do not have to worry about the future of my chapter because these ladies are soo terrific!

Loyally,
Lindsey

Delta Sigma Hawaii got 11 (possibly 12!) girls go through New Member Service last night. We don't have formal NPC recruitment on our campus, so "quota" doesn't really apply. I know, it's weird. Congrats to my chapter sisters for such a fabulous job with recruitment. I've never seen so much hard work and dedication in my life -- not even when I was a collegian!

ilovemyglo 09-16-2003 04:50 PM

Alpha Omicron-West Virgina College- 13- I am not sure if this is quota or not!

AGD4me 09-16-2003 09:55 PM

Delta Rho at Sonoma State University has 21 new members -- and 21 was quota. Congrats, ladies! :)

greeklawgirl 09-19-2003 11:53 AM

Bump!

Mentioned this in the other thread, but Delta Pi at San Francisco State University is welcoming home 21 new baby squirrels today! Quota was 19.

BTW Tonya, Quota at Iowa State was 20, so Rho Chapter kicked some booty. Put that QUOTA mark by their name! :D

edited because the information given me was incorrect!

OOH I'M ABSOLUTELY DYYYYIIINNG TIL THURSDAY!!!

thats ALPHA BETA's bid day and rush is going SOOO well. Being the crazy alum who LOVES LOVES LOVES rush(and besides the fact I look like i'm 18) I'm helping out acutally RUSHING girls and ALL FOUR of my rush crushes 2nd rounds came BACK for THIRDS!!!!!!!! So I cannot wait to get our list tonite of girls who'll be back tomorrow coz I'm PREFFING TOO!

One of my soph friends is going through rush and I know currently her top choice is one of the big names on campus but i'm HOPING HOPING soo hard that we can pull enough on her heartstrings to make her go AlphaGam. Last year she didn't even come to us for 3rd sets but she was there YESTERDAY & she met some awesome girls too.

tatianamik 09-22-2003 10:08 PM

Gamma Zeta (University of Memphis) got 19 new members. That was 1 OVER quota.

squirrely girl 09-23-2003 01:33 AM

Yeah Memphis!!!!

One of the Memphis sisters transfered to Austin Peay this fall (Jessica!) so now I'm not the only Alpha Gam at the Peay. Plus! This guy named Sean (really great guy) from the Kappa Sigma house here dates an Alpha Gam from Memphis and he just transfered to be closer to her! (awwwww!)

Ooops! Thanks for the correction! I'll go fix it now! ;)

AGDee 09-24-2003 07:22 PM

My ex-husband's niece went to UNC-Wilmington and I so hoped she would be recruited by AGD but I think she ended up an Alpha Xi Delta a couple years ago.. it was after my divorce so I have a hard time getting details now. I am convinced that she decided to go Greek because of me though! I always wore letters around my teenage nieces and they were always asking me questions about what it was like to be in a sorority. I was the "cool" aunt because my ex-husband's sisters were much older than him and I was actually closer in age to my nieces than to my sisters-in-law.. they were so impressed that I had a Natalie Merchant CD..lol.

Dee

Jill1228 09-24-2003 07:41 PM

Ahhh! I love Natalie Merchant! I hope to convince my niece (who is 8) to go Greek. Right now I am working on my stepson (not easy because his father is not Greek)

Sorry, I am all up in your board crashing and all that! :o

Designergal3 09-25-2003 09:57 AM

ALPHA BETA GOT 11 NEW SQUIRRELS!!!!!

I will update this later.

________________________________________

ok it is now later. I had to run up to the art school so I can finish up this gift I'm putting together for my grandlittle. Basically we've DOUBLED the # we got from the year before, and we doubled the # from the year before that. So I am DEFINETLY psyched. I know of girls who are interested in COBing my house too...

wheeeeee

AGDee 09-25-2003 01:34 PM

Yay for Alpha Beta!!! Those are terrific results for them this year!

Dee

greeklawgirl 09-25-2003 02:09 PM

Congratulations to Alpha Beta! I'm so glad that numbers are steadily improving for you! :)

Along the same lines, I have numbers for Theta Phi at the University of Tampa. They are one of our newest chapters. Quota was 28, and they welcomed 12 new baby squirrels! :D This is a great improvement for their chapter as they are trying to close the gap between them and chapters that are 10-20 years older than them.

I know how much we LOVE to see the QUOTA sign next to each chapter's name, but I think its REALLY important that we also praise and cheer on the chapters who are making steady improvement during recruitment every single year. With time and hard work, these chapters will eventually get to quota too! :D

Kudos to Alpha Beta and Theta Phi!

GtownGirl98 09-25-2003 02:49 PM

I concur!

Having come from a chapter that was brand new!! I agree with Maria. It is easier to stay on top then it is to be the underdog. I love hearing that soooo many of our chapters are reaching Quota and Total but I think the most praise needs to go to the ladies that have worked to climb the ladder.

Congrats to all the chapters that have improved their numbers and good luck to all the chapters that still have to rush.
