Just a question:

Are any of you into "blogging"?

For those of you that don't know what that is, it's short for weblog, or sort of an online diary.

I have contemplated doing this (undercover of course using a pen name), but never really got around to doing so. I have looked at a couple though, and I have never seen any black folks engaged in blogging.

I have a weblog through livejournal. I'm thinking about getting one I can actually design though. A lot of African Americans blog. As a matter of fact, there are a few people on GC that have one :) I have a extra livejournal code by the way (they are very hard to come by) so if anyone wants it, I'll gladly give it to you :)

I blog and I'm about as black as they come. Its weird because I don't reveal much personal information but I am able to RELEASE alot of my emotions through my site. The link to my blog is down there in my sig.

I've always wanted to have a diary, but I'm always afraid that someone will read it. I keep my business very private, and I hate for people to be in my business. How private is this blogging? Where can I get a journal started? I want to do this, but I don't know where to start.

Neosoulchild, diaryland and diary-x.com has a feature so you can lock your diary if you want. if you don't know much about different blogging programs you might want to go with one of these. :)

Some other sites are blogspot.com and angelfire.com ( which also offers free space for websites)

I've decided to do this and I'm going to get started today (how fitting that today is my birthday - the big 2-8!)

To protect the innocent (and myself) I won't say where I'm going to post at, and also because I haven't decided on which website to post!

But as I come across interesting blogs, I'll be sure to drop the link in this forum.

By the way, Soulfulremix, I stopped by your blog and I'm feeling it. And you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT....Mama's Gun is a CLASSIC!! This is my favorite R&B album since Mary's My Life in '94. Erykah nailed it on this album....

Thanks for all the nice comments! Someone on the DST board mentioned "Mama's Gun" and the line "My eyes are green 'cause I eat alot of vegetables" caught my eye. I began downloading songs and I'm in LOVE with this album. I'm definetly going to buy it during my next trip to the music store.

I've got a webdiary....I ain't saying where, though. ;)

I'm not familiar with any third-party blog providers out there.

I have recently been looking into this blogging thing. The first thought that came to mind when I heard of the word "blog," was "Ill, what's that?!" After I found out what it was, I began searching for a good script...I have always wanted my own personal web site (I know, I know, based on what I do, I SHOULD have one, lol :rolleyes: )

I finally found a pretty neat blog program (actually, I found a few) and will be installing it soon. I am going to register a domain name for it too ;)
(Haven't thought of a name for it yet.)

I also haven't decided if I will let readers know who I am when I make my site public...it just depends on what I'll be writing ;)
