Hello Everyone!!

Yay! I begin rush in just a few days at USF and excited/nervous about the entire thing. Unfortunately, all the sororities at my school seem to be really good:

Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Omicron Pi
Chi Omega
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Gamma
Kappa Delta
Sigma Delta Tau
and maybe Zeta Tau Alpha

The Greek council at USF has already sent me information about the Formal Recruitment, but one of the days is called USF Spirit Day. Does any other school have this? The attire is casual, so I am guessing its a day to visit the sororities. Also kinda curious about acceptable casual outfits... unfortunately, capris do not fit my 5'0 height (:( :( :( ) and it is extremely hot/rainy in Tampa so khaki pants are kinda crazy. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a million!! :) :) :)

Hi, I'm the Executive Vice President of Panhellenic Council at USF. I'm so excited to hear that you are going through recruitment! On Information Night (Monday, 7PM), you will recieve an information booklet that will have examples of what to wear during each day of recruitment. USF Spirit Day (Day 1) is probably the most casual, you can wear a jean/khaki skirts, jean/khaki shorts...we understand it will be very hot during recruitment, so dress comfortably. Be sure to bring an umbrella in case it rains. If you have any questions about anything, please call the Greek Life Office (813) 97GREEK.

Just for your information, Zeta Tau Alpha will be colonizing on our campus this fall, after formal recruitment is over. They do not currently have a chapter at our school and will not be participating in formal recruitment, but in their own colonization period this fall. A representative from Zeta will be speaking at Information Night to tell you all about it.

Sorry I have not been able to reply!! My internet is down at my dorm or else my computer is not "internet ready" which would be horrible. This past week I went through recruitment, or rush, and it has been a wonderful experience for me to go through. Every day was very exciting meeting different girls at each sorority, but unfortunately we were outside for most of the time in the hot August Florida sun :( :(. Pref day was today and my first choice sorority did not invite me back (very sad) but I went to another one that I really really liked, especially after today. Really nervous about tomorrow, afraid I will not get a bid... but everything happens for a reason. I am sure every girl is like that after today. Definately crossing everything on my body and say a million prayers today/tonight. WISH ME LUCK!! Hopefully I will have my home tomorrow so I can tell you ladies what I am :D.

I find at tomorrow morning at 10 am. So about 13 hours from right now I will find out where my home is. This past week has been soo stressful that I almost forgot my mom's birthday was Monday!! Went to get her something tonight to get my mind off rush -- it helped out so much. O well, I will post tomorrow to let you guys know which one I got!! :D
