...oh, and another thing...

...that pisses me off are the topics in the "Greek Life" section that truly have nothing to do with "Greek Life".

For example, let me pull up the following for the record:

1. "My Peeve" - should be in the chit-chat forum (that whole forum is my "peeve")
2. "Need Advice" - should be in the chit-chat forum
3. "Mixer Ideas" - should be in the social forum
4. "Any Canadians out there?" - should be in the chit-chat forum
5. "Wedding Traditions" - should be in the chit-chat forum

AND....anything having to do with Ebay, get it out of "Greek Life".

Thoughts? Talk amongst yourselves.

P.S., don't forget about those bogus looooonnnnnnggggg signatures that are completely pointless and clog up the GreekChat "airwaves".

P.P.S, yes, I DID post this in both the "Greek Life" and "Chit-Chat" forums.

Personally I don't know why you seem so bitter, I mean catagorization of any sort is kinda subjective... if the MODs think there is a problem with a post/thread.. they will say so and delete or move it..

Re: the need advice thread

Last time I checked, badges were a part of greek life Sigma Chi guy. Why not be a little less judgemental of others?

Oh my goodness...how picky people get....people, this is an online forum, so what where stuff goes. If it needed to be moderated better I'm sure it would be. I have faith in our mods, they seem to have intelligence.

33girl 08-14-2003 11:04 PM

I realize this is certainly a topic that is worthy of consideration and examination and that has myriad effects on the aesthetics of this online community, but honestly, who gives a shit?

SigmaChiGuy 08-14-2003 11:32 PM

See, my whole argument was just solidified when you all just argued a "non-greek-life" point in the "greek life" section.

'nuff said.

kddani 08-14-2003 11:34 PM

are you on something???????? i'm puzzled by this thread.........

absolutuscchick 08-14-2003 11:58 PM

what a strange thread!

SigmaChiGuy 08-15-2003 09:03 AM

Now you all are just in denial, because you know that "chit-chat" threads belong in chit-chat, and "greek life" threads belong in greek-life.

It will only take a little time before a moderator gets a bug up their booty and begins making that point clear. Give it some time.

AZpinkkittie 08-15-2003 10:00 AM

Ok, how can you say you proved your point, just because we are arguing your post on this thread that YOU STARTED in the Greek Life forum? I'm very confused. If YOU didn't think this should be in the greek life forum, don't put it there!

Okay, those two are threads that I started. Did you actually read them??! #1 is about how it bugs me how people make fun of overweight/un-supermodel-looking girls in sororities. That's about Greeklife, not simply an ordinary peeve. And #2 was about how I needed advice about what to do with a badge I got from Ebay. That deals with greek life.

Chit Chat is for things not concerning Greek life at all.

Why are you so bitter?

And then his signature.....
Such HATERS!! I like my sig.... if you don't like it, don't READ it!! It's simple as that!

I don't understand why you would come on to GC and try to criticize others for thier signature. That's just RUDE!!

I usually read more than I post but just wanted to say that this comes across as fairly schizophrenic to me.......

And if anyone finds the thread that was "complaining" about long sigs, you'll realize that it was started by him ;)

AlethiaSi 08-15-2003 12:07 PM

yea- usually i don't comment on things that people complain about.... if its in greek life- i'm probably more apt to read it than if its in chit chat and i think those topics were fairly relevant to the broad characterization of the greeklife arena...... but.. why do you care..?

Re: Re: Re: ...oh, and another thing...

Good observation - hence, this one is named "...oh, and another thing..."

Everything can be tied to "Greek Life" if you tried. For instance, I can start a thread in Greek Life called "Batteries" - with the purpose of this thread being "why do they leak acid if they sit in a flashlight too long?". Batteries have nothing to do with Greek Life at all, EXCEPT, I could say that it does have something to do with Greek Life because at least one person, out of the 10,000 employees at Rayovak, is greek....or because the CEO of Duracell is greek, or because my neighbors, sisters, dogs breeder, uses D Cell batteries on the dog collar, and that battery was bought from Wal-Mart, which just so happens to be founded by a Beta.

Is that "Greek" enough for this thread to be in Greek Life?

This is an issue with me, because I go into Greek Life to read about Greek Issues. I don't want to go into a thread in Greek Life called "Help me with an issue", and have to read about what tampon some chick should be using.

umm, if you feel the posts in "greek life" are irrelevant to greek life and bother you so much, don't come back to GC. i'm sure you wont be missed.

SigmaChiGuy 08-15-2003 01:27 PM

Hey! Easy now, killer.....

But that's totally stupid and irrelevant. I'll repeat myself again!!

The "Need advice" thread had to do with the fact that I bought an SAI badge from Ebay, have been wearing it, but wasn't sure whether I should still wear the badge or send it to nationals. How is this not about Greek life? Part of Greek life is the badges we wear.

And the thread about "my peeve" was about how I hate when people make fun of sororities that have all shapes and sizes of girls in them. How is this not about Greek life?

The thread about wedding traditions was started by a girl who wanted to know if GLOs had wedding traditions for their sisters. How is this not about Greek life?

Prove to me that those aren't about Greek life. I'll be waiting for your reply, which will probably be another post to make you look like the dumbass you really are.

SigmaChiGuy 08-15-2003 01:34 PM

What makes my thread about batteries less relevent than anything on my list of examples?

PS, you don't need to justify your threads.

Don't make me take my ball and go home.

shadokat 08-15-2003 01:42 PM

I encourage you to find a hobby or some other activity in which to occupy your time. Apparently you've got a little too much of it on your hands.

SigmaChiGuy 08-15-2003 01:46 PM

Completely unecessary! Let me pull up my stats sheet - my 150 posts to your 1850, in almost the same amount of time? Ok, yeah, you made a great point with that comment....genius, pure genius I tell ya.

Ask yourself this question:

Are there, or are there not, threads that belong in other topics other than Greek Life? If you say yes, then my point is proven...its that simple. If you say no, look again.

LMAO. Sometimes pictures can just add so much to a thread

Hey, J.T.'s all around....sweeeeet.

PS, does this thread belong in Greek Life?

Not really, but amycat and John both have lives and probably haven't been online yet :)

SigmaChiGuy 08-15-2003 02:01 PM

Then we'll just tack this thread onto the bottom of the long list of threads that shouldn't be in here, right?

Easy.

The batteries thing: this would be an example of a thread that started out having NOTHING TO DO with GreekLife, but POSTED here, and then it turned into something about greek life.

The list of examples: these all started as a Greek topic!

You are very childish. I'm glad the Sigma Chis on my campus are a lot more mature than you!

sweetsister 08-17-2003 12:31 AM

Have you noticed the number of MOD's that have been telling you in this thread that you seriously need to chill? And if you really have that much of a problem with "non-greek" threads in the greek life category, then just read the threads with titles specifically pertaining to greek life. Don't read threads with titles such as "need advice" read the ones that are entitled "need advice with greek problem" (or something similar).
