Hi all! This rush thread is for my little sister, we'll call her Lilsis, who's recruitment starts TODAY!! She is going to Western Kentucky University where the 7 sorority's are:

Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Delta Pi
ALpha Omicron Pi!!!
Chi Omega
Kappa Delta
Phi Mu
Sigma Kappa

She wasn't so sure about greek life until she found out that her roomate is a double legacy to KD, so now she's pumped up about being a legacy too!
Our Recruitments overlap, hers starts tommorrow and bid day is on sunday, Our's starts saturday and bid day is on thursday. I'm going to try to keep up with what happened everyday, but since I'm a Rho Gamma this year, I have to stay in a hotel (with no computer) during all of recruitment so I might not be able to say which sorority she went to until my bid day is over, so bear with me!!
Yesterday was thier 'kick-off' day with thier Pi Chi's and she loves hers to death as well as the other girls in her group.
Today she goes to:
Alpha Delta Pi
Sigma Kappa
Kappa Delta
Phi Mu
I'll be using numbers for the houses and I'll update everyone tommorrow or late tonight!!!

I'm still waiting for the parties to be over, I think they're over at like 10 or 10:30 or something.. I'll update you soon!

Westerns rush is schedule is like this
1st rounds are Tonight and tomorrow night from 6:30-10:30
Parties are 30 minutes
2nd round are Friday from noon til 9 (I think) and there is an hour break
3rd round Pref is Saturday from 1-4 (maybe 5) And bid day is Sunday... girls pick up bids at noon.

Okaaaaaay!!! it's now 10:40-----what is the report???

Ugggh... I just got ahold of her 5 minutes ago, but she said she would call me back after she changed... She got in late enough! anyway, I'll update after she calls back...

And to answer your question, I'm an AOII at the University of Louisville!

YAyyyy she finally called me back!
The first thing she said was "I had soooo much fun tonight!!" :)
and she said that she loves her Pi Chi, and that because of everything that I told her about recruitment and sororities she wasn't nervous at all! (which is great because thats what I was worried about!)
Ok so here are the houses she went to tonight! (I randomly assinged them numbers)

#1::She said that the girls in this house were really sweet and she liked the girl she talked to, but she didn't think she would fit in with them

#2:: She loved... I mean LOVED this house! She said they were really laid back (like her) and easy to talk to, and she had the most fun at this house. Definately her favorite so far.

#3:: She said this house was ok.. She said that the girl she talked to was really "happy".. whatever that means LOL... I think she might have been a little overwhelmed at this house.

#4:: She said she didn't know about this one.. She didn't really click with the girl she talked to , and she kept having to come up with more conversation than the girl.


Overall she had a blast her first night and can't wait until tommorrow when she sees:

The best part about the conversation was that Lilsis said that I should come down there one weekend to hang out and stay with them.. THis is SO great because me and my sister have NEVER gotten along let alone be friends, and I think that her moving away from home is just what we needed to be friends :)

aww, I'm glad she had fun! :) I'm glad this experience can bring you together as sisters! Hope she has loads of fun tomorrow--she has 7 great groups to choose from!

Hey AOPiForever, I may meet your sister tonight- I am driving down to help with rush- funny! Anyway, tell her congrats- I am glad she is having fun- half of the fun at Western is figuring out what your Pi Chi is!!!!!

Update on Lilsis::

Today was the 2nd day of parties, but I didn't get to talk to her long so this will be pretty short. The houses she saw today were: Chi-O, AOII, and AGD.

(again the numbers are randomly assigned)

#5:: Lilsis really really liked this house a lot. She said they were all so sweet and she got along well with the girls she talked to and met quite a few of them. I think that this one and #2 are definitely her two favorite houses.

#6: Liked the girls she talked to in this house and had a fun time with them. She actually found out that one of her old friends from high school was a member of this sorority and she was glad to see a familiar face. She said that although she like the girls, she wasn’t sure about the sorority as a whole just yet.

#7:: She also liked this house a lot (she had a good night!) and got along well with the girls she talked to. Only she said she doesn’t think she will join because she’s ‘heard a lot of bad songs about them’!! LOL I cracked up when I heard this… What a reason! I told her to try and avoid the ‘tent talk’ , or in this case the ‘tent songs’ lol and choose or not choose the sorority based on the girls and not what other pnm’s say about them. Definitely made me laugh though.


I’m getting pretty worn out with Rho Gamma stuff (and recruitment hasn’t even started yet!) but I’m really excited to see how her week will turn out so I will make sure to keep you updated. She finds out which parties she goes back to tomorrow morning at 8, and I work 8-1 so I’ll try to post after 1.. Wish her luck… I hope she gets her top 2 houses at least.

Thanks for feeding the frenzy! I'm glad she really likes two houses and sending her wishes that she returns to them tomorrow!

BTW tent songs is great.

actually WKU doesnt have tent songs... so I have never heard of that before unless it was one of the chapter's songs.

LoL I didn't know that there was actually such thing as tent songs.. I was just making a pun. She had heard a song that people made up about one sorority to imply that they are slutty.. I'm sure most of you have heard it at one time or another but I won't mention it on here cause its not very nice.

Anyway... I finally figured out why I felt like I was waiting by the phone for hours to hear from her and why I thought she kept calling me late.. I totally forgot that they are on central time and I'm on Eastern!!
I couldn't understand why she acted annoyed when I would call her... it was b/c she told me she would call me and I kept calling her the second she got out of the parties.. when really I thought it was an hour after them.. anyway... thats why my posts are always so late...

But I am SO nervous to find out which invites she got back... I'm over here biting my nails waiting for her to call lol

She should have gotten them at 8 and first parties start at 1:00 (REMEMBER Central time zone at WKU!)

She never called me!! That witch... I couldn't get ahold of her either... She finally called my mom and my mom called me... Heres the Lowdown....

She didn't didn't recieve an invite to #2, (which was Kappa Delta)which is the one she really wanted... I felt bad for her.. But she did recieve invites to 4 sororities

I'm so excited sigma kappa is on the list, finally i can root (sp) for my sorority, all though I always want legacies to end up in their proper place. Best of Luck.
