To all GCers that are helping with recruitment...

With so much hullabaloo about the PNMs and their recruitment experiences I just wanted to wish the best to all of the members out there who will be doing the recruiting! And to you alums who are supporting as well.

Best wishes to all for a great recruitment.

ZetaMelOU 08-12-2003 05:33 PM

Thanks! It's been really hectic this past week, but our skits are coming together nicely. I hope we do well. Also, good luck to everyone else out there! :)

Coming from an alumna who will be hiding and slaving away in the kitchen, thanks. :D

And another one! Thank you!

Seriously - when they said that sisterhood was a lifelong commitment, they knew of what they spoke! Good luck to all!!

Yes - best of recruitment luck to all the gc members from my school - especially my AXO's and the Phi Mu ladies on the boards!

Let me just say that one of things I am MOST excited about when I become an alum (hehe, I've still got 2 collegiate years) is helping with rush. I have soooo much respect for all you alums who keep our sanity during rush. I know that our chapter has had problems finding alums in our rural area, and because we're a new chapter (in our 11th year), so we're still waiting for that 'critical mass' of alums who are out of graduate school/figuring their lives out and are in a position where they can drive down to Lex and help out. Our alums that are able to come really pull our chapter through and make me realize that Pi Phi is truly a life commitment and a lifetime sisterhood. :D I know it's mushy, but we all love our alums; thank you so much for being incredible!

houstonchica 08-12-2003 11:52 PM

I'll be at the UGA Gamma Phi house tomorrow night with the other advisors. On Friday, GPhiBLtColonel and I are on kitchen duty ALL day. Roll call is at 0645!!

We are very excited though!

:)

DZHBrown 08-12-2003 11:53 PM

Thanks AOII_LB93! Good luck to everyone, as well! I'm an alumna and will be providing food for the rushers after the first night of parties. I'm excited to see how my ladies do!!

PixieChickMTSU 08-13-2003 01:36 AM

DZHBrown - what are we having?! LOL...just kidding!

pinkyphimu 08-13-2003 01:45 AM

Groan!!
I'm already in it and I can't wait for some sleep! Between helping and having to go to work I hardly get any! But I know that when I see all those shiny new faces on Friday at Bid Day activities it will be worth it!

If you can hang on for another year I'll drive down and help you guys out! :) I'm not that far away from you guys.

Haha, I'll be there, too! Although the kitchen is usually part of the house tour, so I'll probably be holed away in someone's room instead.

Thankfully, the groups I work with all have mid-September to early-October recruitments, so I'm still relaxing :) But keep up the good work all.

Unfortunately, MTSU doesn't allow the sororities to offer food or drink to the PNMs :( (Unless it has changed in the last 2 years) But the alums try to provide the chapter with a snack after recruitment since they've been in there so long without anything to eat or drink!

PixieChickMTSU 08-13-2003 12:20 PM

DZHBrown

awww ok! I gotcha! Yes, yall definitely need the snack! well, I hope you have fun!! :)

honeychile 08-13-2003 12:33 PM

May I make a suggestion to all actives? When you're asking your alumnae to rush parties, tell us WHAT TO WEAR!!! Remember, we have no idea what a "Search" party means, and we're going to be in a hot kitchen! We promise not to embarrass y'all by wearing something silly, but we really do appreciate knowing if we can wear something simple for the grunt work!

KappaKittyCat 08-13-2003 01:37 PM

Yay, Alumnae!

I'd just like to send a shout-out to all GC alumnae who help with their sorority's rush in some way. We couldn't do rush without our local alumnae chapter, and I really appreciate their support. I'm sure that your sisters do as well.

Yay, thanks! :) It's nice to hear the appreciation sometimes (you'd be surprised how much we alumnae feel like we're taken for granted). Note to all of the collegiates out there: Please thank your advisors and alumnae that come to help you, especially if you want them to come back in the future! [/lecture]

I hope to hear happy recruitment results from everyone! http://superbabies.homestead.com/files/thumbs.gif

I am jealous that some of you guys have started or already close to starting rush. Rush doesn't start on my campus for another month and bid day isn't until Oct. 1st! I am already working on rush all the time since I am on pan hel and chapter eboard but it is still so far away!

SDTSarah 08-13-2003 11:46 PM

I wish I could help out with recruitment...I feel so useless over here. :( But I'm sending positive wishes towards all you lovely ladies...and especially to all the SDT groups. :D I can't wait to hear about UGA's recruitment...I'd be scared to death!

Bama_Alumna 08-14-2003 12:09 AM

University of Alabama rush started today and I was there to witness all the madness! There are almost 1000 girls going through recruitment this year. Today was the first day of ice water teas. There were 8 parties today and there will be 7 tomorrow. Friday is Philanthropy day. Saturday is Skit Day. Sunday is Serious Night/Pref and Monday is Bid Day! All the PNMs looked really cute and excited. :D
