That's the understatement of the century. I sincerely hope she gets help for her dislexia and her disgraphica (however it's spelled). I also hope this other BS doesn't stress her out too much, nor take attention away from her REAL issues (see above quote for clarification). (That's if what Suzanne is saying is remotely true) |

I may not know much about dyslexia, but I have common sense
The BS meter is going off the charts at this one.
There is, of course, always a remote chance that it's true. That being said..... She's going to college. Obviously she's been able to overcome her so-called disabilities enough to do that. There's such a thing as spell check. College professors aren't going to accept a paper full of errors like that. Hell, most give back papers to be redone if they have more that half a dozen typos (mine at least did that). I think she's full of isht. I hope someone who knows more about dyslexia can step in here. And- There's no such place as Eugafagia, btw. Did a google, that's gotta be made up. BTW- can someone bump the original thread? I looked and looked for it to no avail. |
Dani I looked too and couldn't find it. I sent you an email regarding an ebay item
|
There's a Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma, but there sure as sh*t ain't no Lake Eugafagia! :) Smells like a very p*ss-poor attempt to conceal a location.
|
ok, I got the e-mail too. I'm really confused. I did respond, but come on. Is there really someone out there taking up their time to post under this girls name and "ruin her life"? Whatever, I hope it all works out for her, and if it's true, those people will have to deal with the karma that goes with this.

Granted each case of dyslexia is different, but from the small amount of teaching I did I had a few dyslexics in my class. they had problems reading, but not writting. There just seem to be too many almost intentional mess ups. I'll have to read the email when I have more time, but dyslexics tend to always confuse the same letters, not jus randomly confuse letters when ever...its typically a pattern.
And then there is the fact that this girl is freaking out. Her school is very large (right?) Does she think she is the only Suzanne. 'I'm the real Suzanne.' Hmmm, I smell a rat. |
Did anyone else notice that she spelled "grammatical" correctly?
haha. |

(And my guess is that she meant, "My mom met me at the door and was balling. My brother . . . " But you never know.) |
Oh my loooord.
I think this is another variation on the "my roommate did it" and now that this girl thinks some message board post could get her cut from all the sororities, she's backpedaling like crazy. And as usual, only making things worse. "My mom was balling my brother" had me cracking up too. |
Quote:
I'm not quite sure what "balling" is outside of being a "baller". |
with the bizarreness of the story, i wouldn't really be surprised if it was "balling".
Note: "balling" can be used in a sexual context.... very much slang |
On the website, Im not that familiar with it, but it seems that you can go on as any name you want. Its not like here where you have to register then log in. So it could be possible for anyone to write stuff under any name which could cause problems.
Though reading through her whole story it does sounds like she just messed up and wanted to fix things by having her mom and friend post. I'm sure that even if the sororities at Texas Tech decided to give her the benefit of the doubt (never actually typed that out.. guess thats really how you would) they would quickly see through her ways hopefully or see that something did go wrong here. Who knows.. thats just my take on this whole thing. |

Post content deleted. Since I didn't really say anything much in it anyway

I think everyone could learn a little from this...
Boards that allow anonymous postings should never be trusted, and never be given anything more than a passing thought. Imagine this scenario: Rhonda Rushee graduates from High School and is all set for recruitment at college the coming fall. Somewhere over the summer, Rhonda gets into a huge fight with her now-ex-best-friend, Sara Slander. Sara, having quite a mean streak, decides to torch Rhonda's chances at her school's recruitment. So, Sara posts an obnoxious post on an anonymous board. People read and react. Sara goes further by posting under a different pseudonym revealing Rhonda's actual identity. Sara could further pretend to be Rhonda, Rhonda's mother, and Rhonda's best friend: all the while writing posts that make Rhonda look, well, less than flattering. Think back to when you were 18. It's not that far-fetched. In fact, it's more reasonable than believeing that the original post was valid. Honestly, I hope the people at Texas Tech ignore this fiasco entirely, and make judgements based on the women they meet, not the women they *think* they've met. [edited to fix a typo. ugh] |
Beautifully, clearly and concisely put. Thank you daoine :).

I guess I overlooked the gist of the thread because for some reason, I couldn't get past "ATTENTION DEFECATE DISORDER". That isht was just too friggin' hilarious.

As you can see my Learning Disability is also centered around typing. i can't type to save my life. if one thing i learned in the law is if it smells like a fish ,and looks like a fish, guess what it is a fish! this smells like a lie to me. Yes, there is a lake eufala ( however it is spelled) but she is fake. to much inconsisent things. it is like someone said it wreaks of the my roommate did it thread

Embarrassed!
How dare she put that foolishness on LD and ADD!!!
I have a slight writing disability and the worst Attention "Defecate" Disorder there is. My writing may not be top notch, but it is nothing like that! Nor, do many people w/ those conditions have crappy writing like the above. I'm not saying that she isn't effected by those things, because her writing style is characteristic of some of what she said, but there's no excuse. Spell check, tutoring, and/or medication does wonders. Like kddani said, if she made it to college, it would be impossible for her not to overcome them to some degree. I'm calling bullshit and bad actor on this one! |

If you assume for a moment the impersonation allegation is true:
maybe she didn't use go to the added work of a spellcheck and pasting into email/forum post and instead just typed out what she wanted to say and sent it because she was upset? if it is true, remember we're talking a 120 comment thread on partyschool.com with pretty awful things said, this thread on GC, another thread previously etc. I wouldn't be humming 'Oh Happy Day' myself. |
Are there any Tech girls on here? I'm interested in finding out if Ms. Suzie Q goes through recruitment and eithers admits to all this crap or denies it to the girls she talks to.
|
re: things on 'Net not as they seem sometimes
Opinion only, nothing more:
I think - and it is not for me to say (i.e just an opinion) - that because there is a possibility that someone may have been impersonating the girl meant to be behind the first post in the thread (just as there is a possibility that there is not), given the fact it is potentially SO damaging to her likelihood of success during Rush that the partyschool.com and GC threads should all be deleted. |
well,
y'all already know my feelings bout Tech. sounds like she'll fit right in. Kitso KS 361 |
yeah well I got the email too and it is definitly some bs. I mean first of all she wouldnt really need to be that worried I mean yes if it wasnt really her that wrote it then ok who in the hell is going to think that every girl going thru named Suzanne is this girl of course that isnt a super popular name so who knows she could be the only one lol too bad for her. but yeah Dislexia is where you read backwards it has nothing to do with how you spell, my dad had it and I remember him telling me all about it and I have a form off add or adhd actually but that does not mean i cant do anything like spell or anything. I mean thats just insane and crazy. oh well so sorry for the girl but she did it to herself.

1. I know where Lake Eufaula is! :p
2. If the email is true and the "real Suzanne" is that bad at typing/spelling/writing, she should have kept her mouth shut and not sent the email. No one would have ever put the two together grammatically. 3. How did she know that post was "supposedly" about her? The only remotely identifying info is "Suzanne" and "Texas Tech". If it was someone posing as her to "ruin her life" they would probably say " My name is Suzanne Zmgyths, I'm 5'10', brunette, slender. I'm from Brick HS and I was a majorette there. I'm living in Zoolander hall at Tech, and I'm wearing a blue skirt and green top with yellow mules for the first day of rush......" |
i hadn't read that thread since the whole thing started a while back. i had no idea that i was missing some funny isht! first of all, i almost fell out of my chair laughing...i literally had tears in my eyes) when the "erin" person said that suzanne had attention defacate disorder. the person who asked if she had trouble paying attention when she was taking a dump...lolololololol. then when erin totally defended herself by saying that it was a learning disorder....lololololol. i couldn't control myself!!! i am a special educator and i would pee my pants if i ever got a child with a diagnosis of attention defecate disorder!!!!
that being said, i am a terrible typist. my right hand goes faster than my left, so i tend to switch letters around all the time. lol |

The Attention Defecate Disorder problem had me LMAO! That was sooo funny! My brother must think I'm crazy bc I've been sitting in the study laughing my head off and I can't stop...:D
|
I don't understand why she sent out so many e-mails.
Had y'all been PMing her? I have to say my own keyboard acted up in the past and what I typed was NOTHING like what was produced. Perhaps she was so upset she just flew over the keys and hit send. Still...makes you go hmmmmmmmmm. |
this whole thing is hillarious.. i kept reading and reading and the posts kept getting BETTER and BETTER! is her back-up reasoning valid? has it been reported? the ways of the internet, geez.
ames |
Ok, for the sake of my point, let's assume that this young lady made the first post, saw the backlash and is now trying to get herself out of it by trying to pretend that someone else is posting about her.
I feel bad for her. :( Why? Because she's young and young people do dumb stuff sometimes. Maybe she misunderstood what it meant to go through recruitment. Maybe she was a bit arrogant. Maybe she just wants to fit in so much that her judgement lasped. Weren't you young once too? Because she's young, she's still learning how to be mature. Instead of admitting that she made a mistake or didn't understand how the process goes, she's made up some silly story about other people posting as her. Though, to "make sure" people buy her cover up, she has to weave a bigger web. Is that the right thing to do? No, but it's not something that is outlandish for a high schooler to do. She's probably scared now about her chances at recruitment and that's punishment enough. I think she has learned a lesson about what not to say in public. I'm not thrilled with what she did either, but I still have enough heart to accept that people make mistakes. .....Kelly :) |
navane-I couldn't have said it better OR agree with you more.
I too feel so very sad for her. AND, someone DID state her name...how horrid was that! THAT person is the one who should be ashamed, because I honestly believe she has destroyed a young girl who made a mistake. |
