Ideas for PACE
Hey there! I was wondering if anyone had some great PACE ideas? Our PACE chair seems to be running out of ideas!
Love in TTKE, Maria EO chapter @ UC Santa Cruz |
HI I'm MEVP at Alpha Xi. I am also looking for new ideas for pace. Some of our favorites are makeup-makeovers, Dateing pannel (we have 6 boys, half GDI and half frat boys, who agree to answer any questions), the carere center, health center. Next semester we have a miss maners, and danceing class.

new mixer ideas?
Hey yall. I am going into my first semester of G- Phi Social chair, and am trying to find any exciting new mixer ideas. Or even any other social ideas that G Phis or other sororities have done. Either email me, or just post a reply. Thanks! IIKE, nanda

We have a Super Bowl mixer coming up this weekend. Not very original, but since the Pats are in the game, it's a HUGE deal here.
Last year, one of our best mixers was a grafitti mixer. Everyone wore white tops, and had flurescent higlighters and markers. The whole house was lit with black lights, and we drew and wrote on everyone's clothes. It was a lot of fun. Only, I would recommend not writing with highlighter on your skin, because no matter how much you wash it, you may not see it anymore, but you will be black light reflective for weeks We also had a Heaven N Hell mixer. The downstairs and upstairs was decorated accrodingly with refreshments to match. My friend's sorority went one step further, and they all dressed as devils or angels. Anyway, good luck with your new position, and hope you have an awesome semester!:) Luv in pke, Jen |
rush/mixers
Hey Gamma Phi's,
I just found this web site. I am at the university of Idaho. I need some ideas for rush, and mixers. Take care. Love in PKE |
For mixers we've done G.I. GPhi (or gammies in cammies), Italian Wedding (with Sigma Chi), School Ties (dress up like school girls & boys a la Britney Spears' 'Baby One More Time')...hmm I cant really think right now... also Gammies in Pajamies, Studio 54, What the F, Crush, Sex on the Beach (hawaiian themed)... we also do kareoke mixers and we attend the fraternity bid day parties too... yeah thats all i can think of right now, i hope hat helps!!
in IIKE, chantillylace;) |
LOL ChantillyLace, I love the "What the F" mixer...
I'll have to mention the "G I GPhi" idea to my chapter, it would be a lot of fun, and what a cute name! |
yeah what the f's always end up really interesting (to anyone who dosent know, youre supposed to dress up so that if you were walking down the street, people would look at you and say "what the f??")
G.I. GPhi turned out really well, everyone loved the theme! we all went out and got little dog tags made with our nicknames and Gamma Phi Beta written on it... and the guys went ALL OUT! Even more than the girls (i guess the more camo they wore, the more macho they felt?)! The painted their faces and wore authentic army gear and everything, it was great! you should definately try it! in IIKE, chantillylace |
Loyalty Circle Ideas
I'm just looking for some for some Sisterhood event ideas to bring to my chapter. I'm from U of T, and just wondering what some things you might do in the States are, or for that matter other Canadian chapters.
Also if there are any PACE ideas I would love to pass them along to our PACE chair Gamma Love, Laura |
PACE ideas
My chapter doesn't do loyalty circles anymore, but we do long PACE programs once a month (at least). Here's some of the ones we do:
Before recruitment: pre-recruitment workshop (not including your Recruitment work week!) as a finishing touch for recruitment. First quarter/semester of the year: Alcohol and Drug awareness (I believe this is required by IH). Get your campus career center to host a PACE meeting about on and off campus internships, the services offered by your career center, and interviewing/resume skills. Kickboxing! This is so much fun! We've done a PACE in the past where after meeting (which is on-campus), we walk all over campus with the Campus Safety Escort Service and learn which routes are safest, most well-lit, etc. VERY helpful to first-year students! Time management PACE (you may want to include this with the career one mentioned above) Especially helpful for seniors: have a PACE that informs the members about graduate school- applications, testing (GRE if it's offered in Canada), timelines, how to write a good admissions statement, etc. If you have the Princeton Review or Kaplan in your area, they sometimes will do presentations. As a general idea- invite one or more chapters to some of your PACEs. We used to invite fraternities to the alcohol awareness one all the time. And it shows great Panhellenic unity when you invite all the other chapters to any PACE, considering we're the only chapter with that program. Hope this helped! In TTKE, Carol |
Loyalty Circles
I am not quite sure how your loyalty circles work but, every semester we get paried up with 5 or 6 other girls and we are required to do 3 activity's a semester.
Some of these activities we do are: ~movie night ~ice cream Sundaes ~decorating for the holiday's ~dinners ~We baked cookies for valentines day and sent them with a little ~valentine to all the fraternities. Went over well. ~Around hallowen one group made candy apple for themselves As far a sisterhood events you could: ~go miniture golfing ~drive in movie ~We have a Christmas Dinner ~We also have a Sunday Brunch on the 1st of the month to celebrate the birthday's of the month |
We do our loyalty circles every week. Some of the things we do include...
*going to the gym *eating together on campus *going out to dinner *getting together to watch a movie or tv show ...we're big on food, so if it involves food girls will show up ;) We're still working on making our PACE program stronger and more fun. We usually just do sisterhood type things for it. We did kickboxing one time. For an alcohol awareness PACE we had, we had a quiz on alcohol and got candy for getting anwers correct (again with the food). |
Senior Celebration
Hey everyone,
I'm the ritual chair for the Epsilon Iota chapter and we're trying to do more for our girls when they go alum. Several of my sisters went to RLC last month and came back with several ideas. I was wondering what other chapters did for their seniors and transfer students. Thanks! Love in II K E, Rebekah |
Our chapter does a Senior Bye-Bye week. In the past, some of the things we've done (throughout the whole week) are a dinner, senior wills (you "will" things to your sisters when you leave, but not physical items, just like, inside jokes and stuff and it's hilarious), love notes to the seniors from all the sisters, our retreat is usually at the end of the week. Our seniors get to have a lot of fun at meetings during the last quarter. We can show up late (as long as it's all together) and basically run meetings (unless they're formal meetings), we can come dressed differently, etc. Our actives usually split up into groups and spoil the seniors all week long, too. Last year, active groups were supposed to do specific senior things: dinner one night all together, give the seniors a decorated album, a camera, etc.
At the end of the week, our seniors have a brunch paid for by the alums to welcome them to the alum group, which is nice. Just the seniors, no one else. Hope this helps |
loyalty circles
Laura,
As far as loyalty circles, UCI's chapter has just started the program up to full speed. The loyalty circle chairwoman placed the sisters in groups of about 8. Each week there is a different theme (such as "Love" week... the girls might do something like make a card for the other girls in the group, cookies, etc). Each week the points are updated and at the end of the quarter, the winning team receives a prize (maybe a free dinner, gamma phi beta stuff, etc). Some of the events we're looking into are: -movie nights -dinners -dancing (such as swing, salsa, etc that is offered for free by some of the girls and their friends or at the school, where there are free lessons offered). -basketball games Since I know that department has a tight budget (usually), look for events that are free and school related. It'll promote not only getting to know sisters you don't usually hang out with, but will also get them more involved in what's going on at the school (and will positively promote gamma phi beta). I hope that helps. If you need any detailed ideas or help, just let me know. ~Cherie~ MEVP (delta eta) |
Summer Retreat Ideas
Hello Gammas,
I was asked to help out Alpha Alpha chapter with their summer recruitment retreat. Can you guys give me some ideas for some teambuilding games as well as recruitment workshop stuff? We want to ROCK formal rush this year!!:D  Thanks! |
Re: Summer Retreat Ideas

First off talk to my sister (Lindsey) about using our cottage. Second you need to alternate between planning (formal) and bonding (informal).... a tight team recruits better. Third, I don't know if you can have a theme at the house during formal... but try to think of something that is acceptable that will make you house more memorable (something to help them remember... oh yeah that was the Gammas). Fifth make sure that the girls are full of energy when meeting the girls; if they need to step back and take a break let them. Sixth make sure to promote all aspects of the house: social, academic, philanthropy, ritual, friendship, history, and networking (you never know what will attract people). Finally be honest with the girls.... if everything sounds perfect, they'll know you hidding stuff...... so let them know what the chapter plans on improving <MINOR THINGS> (it looks good if you can identify a fault and are correcting it). Hope this helps |
Retreat
Hello lovely Gamma Phis! I was elected MEVP this year and I need good retreat ideas. Our reatreat is a week after bid day, so for us it's the weekend of October 11th. we are in southern california, specifically bakersfield. if you guys have any ideas, i would love it!!!
|
First thing that came to my mind when you said where you are and when you're doing is was camping...definitely can be a great bonding experience for everyone! Might want to check with local parks etc. about that. For one of our house retreats, we went to a local park that had a low ropes course, so we split off into groups to complete that...surprisingly fun and good bonding as well. Basic thing to keep in mind is to do something everyone can do together or at least in decent-sized groups (avoiding separations into cliques/small groups as much as possible). If you do participate in an activity that requires groups, make sure they're not too small, and try to put people in groups that don't normally hang out a ton, it's always nice to get to know everyone better. Another good idea is a volunteer day...contact a children's center, shelter, YMCA, humane society, etc. and talk to whoever's in charge about bringing the whole group down to do some good deeds. Everyone will have fun doing it and feel really good about themselves at the end of the day! (Plus you get your community service hours done :p ) Hope this helps!! Keep us posted on what you end up doing and have fun!

That is sooo cool! Tell Molly that I said hello. We miss her down here alot. She was in my pledge class. I really like the senioritas and margarita party idea. Hope all is well in Cali. Thanks a lot!

Retret Ideas
Hey,
I am the newly elected me vp of my chapter. Part of the jobs as most of you proably know is to run a retreat. However, somewhere through the past years we lost alot of traditons and duties, one of which was the having a retreat. We have never ran and over nite/ weekend one before. To give you an idea of how far behind we are this semester we attempted to have one and thought it went very well, it only lasted a few hours. With all that said, if anyone has any ideas for retreats referring to anything, ice breakers, topics to discuss, activities to do, etc. Please let me know! I really want to have a successful one this semester to help our chapter continue on getting back on track. Thanks for all your help!!! Love in IIKE, Kate  |
I went to the retreat (one day of it) that the Gamma Epsilon chapter had in the Fall for their full exec board and they pretty much discussed EVERYTHING. The two big items I saw were the budget (seemed to take forever) and brainstorming for mixers for the year (what theme and who to have it with). They styed at the chapter advisor's house and I believe they left for ,unch and dinner.
They probably had about 20-25 girls (the house is at about 80). They went line by line through the budget and I would, in NO way, recommend that. It was the most useless, BORING thing I've sat through. The officers should have been better prepared to quickly discuss what they thought they needed. But, I think a few of the other actives on here will be better able to help you............. in IIKE, Melanie |
