Trading Spaces Goes Greek
 

Comes on next (8 PM Eastern time) on TLC...just so everyone knows. I'm not sure what GLO's are participating or even what school, but I'll tune in!

I just checked tvguide.com and it was filmed at UC Berkeley. The sorority is AOTT and the fraternity is DU

Yeah, I think it's a rerun...I could have sworn that I've seen it before. Haha!

It was actually a nice episode. Paige was more flattering to the sorority and not making a seemingly-derive comment like she did at the DG (?) house in another episode.

I liked the AOPi house but I wasn't crazy about the DU house. One of the guys liked it, but I'm not sure the other guy did. He didn't really make a comment so maybe that was his comment, lol.

the du chapter room was a disaster before dougie got there. i'm not sure about the orange and green combo. the girls involved worked hard.
the aopi house was lovely and the makeover decent. paige got a little excessive on cheering.... but it was indeed a decent episode.

Okay, I didn't get to see the whole episode b/c I was trying to load my pc TV listings...

At the end when the DG sisters were gving each other hugs,Paige gave an exaggerated hug...maybe it was just me, but it seemed to be mocking them.

I can't believe I missed these episodes. I've practically seen almost every episode....Trading Spaces is always on at our house. So, all day today we were working on painting and redecorating our house for a new look before the new semester. I think it would have been so cool if we could have done Trading Spaces or While You Were Out at our chapter! Hmm.. on the other hand- I don't know if I would trust some of the designers in our house!

I think she was mocking them, I had respect for Paige before but this show just kinda lowered it abit.

Yes Paige went to college. She went to SMU.

I watched the Trading Spaces block last night, too. The AOPi house was nice (1st hour), the guys' apt was hip (2nd hour), and both DG houses looked great (3rd hour)! I wasn't digging the DU room remodel or the girls' apt. I thought Doug's color scheme was awful and I couldn't believe he painted the ceiling beams. I also kept thinking: those wired tables are going to be a serious hazzard for drunk people!

What did Paige do that was mocking the DGs? :confused: Obviously I missed it.

Saturday night episodes on Sunday around 11am or noon. ***

At the end of the show all four sisters came out to greet each other and two of them gave the others a flower. Then they hugged and thanked each other. It was sweet and cute. I didn't find it fakey at all... Well, then Paige started getting huggy with the girls in a mocking, patronizing fashion. I picked up on it immediately.
I watched all three episodes twice last night! My husband and son are at Y Camp this weekend. I absolutely love that show!!!

Just wondering if non-Greeks would see the scene the same way?

I guess I'll have to try to catch that final scene again. I saw two of the girls giving the other two roses but I don't remember the Paige part. Either I had already flipped the channel or I just didn't pick up on it.

I just had bad visions of what could go on in there with drunk people....between the rope "sculpture" in the corner ("Hey,he's passed out!!! Let's tie him to the rope structure!!"), the hanging tables (neat looking, but that'll be a stage in NO time), and the rolling ottomans (Human Bowling!!!!), I could see some scary things happening there.

They should do a visit in 6 months or a year to see what the room looks like then.

The hugging Paige did was pretty pathetic, and she did so well with AOPi. But, I also knew to expect it (from you guys) when I watched it out here on the West Coast..........

I would have to agree, my opinion of her dropped a bit with that show.

Did you guys hear Lori's description of what she had to do when she was in college (she's a Kappa in case you missed her comment)?

I saw the first two episodes and 15 min of the last one. I was bummed that they didn't do a greek thing at the U of A, but oh well. I really liked the AOPi TV room but was not diggin the green and orange boys room.

I didn't like the DG episode. It was like they were getting to decorate their own house. They should have traded spaces with another sorority or fraternity, like the DU/AOPi episode. (all I could think was austin powers about that DU room. ugh!)
