DG Jeopardy!

With recruitment starting next week for some schools, I thought it would be informative and fun to do a little quizzing on DG facts. So may I present DG JEOPARDY!!

As always, please remember to phrase your answers in the form of a question! If you get the question right, you may post your own answer!

Answer: During the 1936 Convention, this member of Eta chapter, who was blinded in a childhood accident, inspired delegates to adopt Sight Conservation and Aid to the Blind as Delta Gamma's national philanthropy.

JohnsDGsweethrt 08-08-2003 01:35 AM

Who is Ruth Billow?

UGAGal 08-11-2003 11:21 AM

How many chapters does DG have established? How many are being colonized within the next year and where are they?

CarolinaDG 08-13-2003 10:59 AM

I'm not completely sure about this one, but I think 143, now... We only have one colonizing next year and it's at New Mexico State.

Next question... this chapter is the oldest chapter in continued existence (there should be a couple of GCers to get this, for sure)

etahannah 08-13-2003 02:21 PM

ETA!!

yea!! eta is the oldest existing chapter.

1873 DG was founded for me
1879 DG became mine

I went to a TEAM convention once but I thought we cancelled those a long time ago

Lil' Hannah 09-02-2003 10:39 AM

I don't know if TEAM is still around or not. It's still in Watchwords though.

I admit I had to look this up because I only knew about Duke, Akron and Texas. Here are all of them! What a great program.

Delta Gamma Foundation Lectureships in Values and Ethics are established at University of Akron, Duke, SMU, Wichita State, USC, University of Missouri, TCU, University of Oklahoma, University of Texas and Purdue. Campaigns are in progress at Mississippi State.

UGAGal 09-05-2003 11:32 PM

Next question:

In 1881, what famous person did Delta Gamma extend a bid to? What happened before she was able to reply?

JohnsDGsweethrt 09-06-2003 09:52 AM

President Garfields wife but he died before she could accept the bid and I didn't look it up! I read it off the website some time ago and remembered :)

JohnsDGsweethrt 09-06-2003 09:57 AM

Delta Gamma's largest house belongs to this chapter.

UGAGal 09-08-2003 01:07 PM

I think it is Theta at Indiana.

:::trying very hard to resist cheating and looking it up:::

Am I right? If so, I'll come back and post a question.

JohnsDGsweethrt 09-08-2003 01:41 PM

Ding Ding Ding! Correct!

UGAGal 09-09-2003 12:40 PM

In addition to the three founders of Delta Gamma, this famous person was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi.

DG515 09-09-2003 01:05 PM

Who is Oprah Winfrey?
:-D

edited to add: I'll post a question when I know I'm right :-) I've got a good q, it'll be most tooting hard :-)

UGAGal 09-09-2003 01:28 PM

You got it! Give us your hard question, we can handle it! If not, we'll go look it up! ;)

DG515 09-09-2003 06:28 PM

What contribution did Leota Woy make to Delta Gamma in the year 1909?

UGAGal 09-09-2003 09:58 PM

I almost posted that same question about Leota Woy! Heh heh. I'll give someone else a chance to answer.

DG515 09-09-2003 10:54 PM

lol

Aw nuts, and here I am, thinking I'm all smart and stuff.....oh well......it's still a good question

Lil' Hannah 09-10-2003 10:34 AM

Did she design the anchor badge?

DG515 09-10-2003 12:22 PM

Nope!
