Okay, rush at the University of Arizona starts on the 20th-in 12 days-I'm SO excited and can't wait any longer to start my own rush thread (I'm sure you all understand:) )

Like I said, I'm very excited, but am pretty nervous, too! I bought a dress and shoes for pref night, but I'm still trying to decide what I'm gonna wear for every other day. I hope the weather is decent, too. It'll either be really hot or possibly rainy. I do have my eye on one chapter...but, of course, I am still very interested in all the other chapters. I've been trying to ignore what people say around campus about the chapters, too-some of the comments were pretty mean-I would much rather form my own opinion after I have met the girls.

Sam, you beat me to it!! Oh well, I guess eveyone will have 2 UA rush stories to read about. I am biting at the bit to start this whole thing. I can't wait for that first meeting, then I'll know everything's rolling and maybe I can calm down a bit (yeah right). I hope I get to meet you during all this. When i start my thread I'll put down everything I'm wearing so be on the look out. I'll be looking for you too. You'll be wearing a sign that says "UASoph02 from GC" right??:p ;)

AZpinkkittie and UASoph02 - if you are rushing at the same school, ya'll should get together (via PM?) and decide what to call each sorority during rush if you do not want to use their real chapter names (for example: Alpha Chi Omega might be Tulip; ADPi might be Daisy, etc)...and you both should use the same nicknames...then us rush addicts can see each party from a different point of view...maybe one will really like Sunflower's 1st party and the other may have not liked it as much...I think it'd just be neat to see the different persepectives.

AzPinkkittie and I agreed on using the same names-just as long as we don't go around telling the sororities that one of us didn't like their house or skit etc:) We're gonna use the names of fruits for each house in case you guys were wondering! The two of us are very excited!!!

I have a question about Rho Chis-I was reading older threads on Rho Chis and all that they do for the PNMs and now I'm dying to know who mine is gonna be! Do they usually call you before rush starts or do they have something planned after the info night so everyone in the group can get to know eachother? This might be a dumb question, but I'm just curious.

I have another random question. The very first night of rush-info night-do you think I need to wear something nice or does it not matter? I don't want to use a really cute outfit for an hour of greek activities when I could be wearing jeans or shorts....

Sam I'm dying, my nerves are totally shot and I have knots in my stomach. I'm so excited and anxious I could puke...but I won't...I will retain my composure. Arrggg...

I'm wearing dark green capris w/ a fringe waist and drawstring cuffs w/ a white tank top. Nothing super special. And i am also very curious about the whole Rho Chi thing. I'm thinking we'll probably get them at info night.

I'm so excited for you guys! lol, I move into my house on aug. 23, so I'm trying to read as many rush threads before then. As for your rho chi, I know it's different at every school but we didn't meet ours until after the orientation either- and everything worked out great :) good luck!

Thanks for the reply GiantsChic-I was looking through my Greek Life Guide earlier and it looks like I won't find out who my Rho Chi is until after the meeting! I don't know if I can wait that long!:D

I'm oh so excited! I'm almost done picking out my outfits for each day-I'll let all of you know what I'm gonna wear soon!

I have to say, though, reading about's Blazercheer's rush and 65 girls not getting bids kinda freaked me out! I always knew it was a possibility to not get a bid, but now it's kinda sunk in lol.

Oh my gosh, I understand how you feel! I'm a little scared about that too. Best of luck to you!!

Actually, that's an abnormally high number of women who didn't get bids - that's one of the reasons everyone's asking what quota was, and how many each sorority did pledge. Sure, everyone wants to see how well their sorority did, but we also want to make sure that the system is working.

In a perfect quota/total system, no woman goes without a bid. Most of those sixty-five probably only put one sorority on their bid list, hoped for the best, and lost. That's why everyone is encouraged NOT to suicide bid!

Keep your options open, and I'll be shocked if you don't get a bid!

Actually, that's not technically true. With our current quota/total system things are not perfect. That is why NPC is looking at quota/total and release figures to try to maxamize the number of women pledged.

I usually don't wish good luck on these trheads, but I am (part) Arizona Wildcat and I want to wish you the very best! :)

Okay, I think I have my outfits figured out:

Wednesday-I'm thinking everything for this night is really low key so I'm going to wear jeans and a cute red striped button down shirt.

Thursday, friday, saturday Set I/II- khaki shorts and a pink v-neck shirt, white shorts and a light green shirt, green capris and a white v-neck shirt.

Sunday-Set III-black skirt, maroon/dark red v-neck shirt that has beaded flowers around the neckline-this one is kinda hard to explain.

Monday-Set IV- I bought a black v-neck dress that has very tiny white polkadots with a little lace trimming in some parts. The neck line is a little TOO low so I'm gonna have to wear a little black tank top underneath so I don't reveal too much ;) I have black strappy shoes to go with it.

Tuesday-Bid Day-This is my first day of school so I'll probably be wearing something comfortable-shorts, shirt, flip flops, etc. Hopefully I'll end up wearing a shirt from my new home!! :D

I really, really, really wish I could be there
to help with my chapter.

I visited another school this weekend
and it made me miss my chapter and
my school. I feel so fortunate to have
gone through recruitment at The
University of Arizona and that I was
a part of a sorority there.

Visiting another school and seeing
how their recruitment process works
really made me appreciate the excitement
and entertainment that the U of Az Greek
Life displays during this time.
