Greetings Ladies:

Did anyone happen to catch Kelly Price on Jay Leno? She looks great! I mean homegirl is working it, she's lost over 100 lbs.

My question is, I thought Kelly's first album was bomb and this one is even better. It seems that now since she's lost the weight though, EVERYONE wants her on their tv/radio show, in their magazine, etc. Now is it just me, or does anyone else think this has more to do with her weight loss and not the fact that they're respecting her b/c her album is so dynamic? I think her credit and exposure is late because her first album was so good, but I guess better late than never...

Just wanted to know other's thoughts.

If these people are more interested in her weight loss than her music...I think she should use these outlets to her advantage (which she basically is doing). The more coverage/exposure you receive, the more dividends you will have coming in...

I think you hit the nail on the head. Even though I have not seen her recently, if she has lost that much weight I bet that is the reason why she is getting the attention. The entertainment industry is full of "standards" and weight is one of them.

I am going to purchase Kelly's CD this weekend. I had a chance to hear the gosple cut this past weekend and afterwards I made up my mind to make the purchase.

Thanks for the shout out(s)! I am never amazed by the number of women I meet just as I decide to give my heart to a lady. I have been talking to my current ladyfriend for a little over two months. She is everything I could ask for in a person and I think a great deal of her. We are going on our first weekend trip next week. I will know the direction we will take after the trip. If for some reason we don't have the same agenda, keep a brother in mind.

Cookee, I am so mad I misses Kelly. I am so inspired by her weight loss but I too am wondering now how many folks will be on her bandwagon just because she is looking more acceptable in the eyes of the industry. It is very disheartening to see that weight and looks are still such a big issue in the validation of an artist or any person with any type of artistic talent. Hopefully with Star Jones, Latifah and Oprah as well as Kelly Price this stigma of a 'perfect body' can change.

Hmmmmm...When will society stop making women believe that things that glitter MUST be gold!.....I think that it is disgraceful that a woman with such extroadinary singing talent, has her vocal success measuree by the digits shown on her scale!...Kelly Price is has a fantastic voice. I thougt that she was beautiful before she lost weight. I have a male friend that thinks Kelly is fine now that she lost the weight...He did not realize is that the woman had the exact same face before sh lost the weight...
When women decide that they will start to set realistic terms for beauty, then society will follow the new trend. On the topic of Kelly Price, if you haven't heard her cd, it is excellent. I heard it for the first time tonight. I was reading post in another forum and a young lady listed a great site http://come.to/audio2g You can hear her cd among others (Joe, Toni Braxton, Lucy Pearl, etc.) When you get to the site click on listening booth and you can hear the entire cd before you decide to go out and buy. I'm listening to Toni Braxton now to see if her cd is good. Check the site out.

I had to respond to this because Kelly Price is one of my personal favorites. The girl can simply Blow!!!!!! period!

I do feel as if people are accpeting her more because of her weight, but that is just the business. I don't think they ever took any credibility from her singing, but realisticly, people do not want to see large people on television. It's just societal perception. Music is all about making money, and the right image makes money. I am very proud of Kelly and she has my support 106%!
