Plastic Surgery: Black Don't Crack?
Being a fan of the FX show Nip/Tuck, I started to ponder if I would consider plastic surgery if I had the financial resources to do so. Not really sure yet, what if any plastic surgery I'd have done. Anyway, what would you have done?
|
If I could afford it, I would have a tummy tuck and lypo around my love handles. It's not much to do, but I could use some help. Also, if I were confident in my doctor's contour skills, I would have my booty and thighs done too. I would have them taken down about an inch but I would not want my doctor to leave me with a flat behind because I like its shape.
Since, plastic surgery is out of my reach, I have decided to get the results that I want by running at least two miles a day and doing Pilates three times a week. |
the boobs...
i would definitely consider reducing the boobs...they are quite a handful!!
|
Well I've considered having a breast reduction and did have about a month ago. I was well worth it. My insurance took care of it so that was no problem. The scars are also fading faster than I thought. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
|
sigh....
i'd have a tummy tuck and fat removed from my arms.... |
Just Bring It!!!
I would get breast implants, have my nose done and work on the eyelids to open them up a bit. I have some kind of Asian look going on and I find it very irritating for someone to ask me who in my family is from China or to make the comment that I have eyes like a cat.

The Whole SHEBANG!
I've lost so much weight that I have some "loose skin" issues. I'm starting to look like a sharpei!
I'd have:

I strongly considered having some impants added to my breast... nothing outrageous like DDD's but just one size up. But if God don't work in mysterious ways... i have gotten prego and they went up two sizes so far...and still climbing. i'm at a point i don't een know what to do with them!
|
Well, I have been considering a breast reduction, but after talking to my Nana (great-grandmother) the other day I think I have changed my mind. She fussed and said, "God meant for you to have all of those "busoms' and you betta not go cutting on them!" So I guess I need to leave them alone in ALLLLL of their glory! :o (I wonder what it will be like when I am expecting...I can't image them any bigger  )
Honestly, other than that...I can't think of anything that I would change surgically that I wouldn't try to hit the gym to improve first, maybe I am just scared of the knife! |

side note: No offense to those are struggling with your home grown DDD's. |
Blessed Endowments...
For all those who wish to reduce their blessed endowments, give your stuh to me 'cuz I need hep!!! ;)
If I could afford it, I would have that new Asian straightening system for my hair... Then I'd have my nose done... Then I'd get a little lipo done on my thighs--'cuz 35 is creepin' up on me and my body has decided to rebel against the empire... And-and that's about it for now... |

I would get a boob "lift". Nursing left me a little deflated :o :( |
none, i love being me.
|
Well...I'd take my DDD's down to a D
tummy tuck handles taken away.... that would be great. How do you get your insurance to cover any plastic surgery???? |
Quote:
1. Other physical complications are resulting from the weight (i.e back pain, damage to shoulders from bra straps, etc.) These problems must be docuemnted by a physician. 2. A certain amount of fat must be removed for the surgery to be needed. If only a small amount is removed it is not viewed as enough to stop the pain or other symtpoms and, therefore, the surgery was cosmetic, not medical. You should talk to your doctor about it if you are having complications that reduction would ease. Reconstruction and augmentation or reduction of breasts are required to be covered under federal law after a mastectomy. Most other surgery will not be covered unless it is being performed as part of the correction of an injury. Even then it may not be deemed medically necessary. Hope that helps. |
thanks...i'm going to use that, since I have all of those problems in the chest area...
|
Hmm, I'd have a breast reduction and lift to a C cup (I'm DD now). I'd have liposuction on my inner thighs and lower abdomen. I'd have lasic eye surgery so I wouldn't have to wear glasses anymore. And I'd have my teeth cosmetically whitened.

Now, I can understand the breast reductions, I don't want anyone to curve their spines. I have a personal question for you all. Why would you change you? I've not seen any of you, but I've chatted with you all, and y'all are beautiful people. Why would you go under the knife? Is it something that YOU have never liked about yourself? Or does it stem from something OTHER people have told you that THEY don't like and you've internalized it? What is it that made you dislike whatever part of you that you want to change? |

@ NoworNever (HAAAY GURL!), I had considered doing the lasik eye surgery at one point, but I would be to scared to do that. I would be thinking, if they messed up...you can't get another pair of eyes! |
Going under the knife
breast lift and augmentation next week. Man, breastfeeding does some expensive damage...

1SD, I felt the same way as you about the lasik surgery, and knowing what I know now, I don't know if I'd do it again. |
Good luck, SKEEphistAKAte!

ETA: You know you've grown when your momma comments on them. I was amazed. Not as much as she was apparently, though, lol. I loved having those DDs.. :( |

LMBAO at "home grown":D I would get some lipo, b/c I luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv food. Also, in terms of getting insurance to pay, if you have a flex spending plan, you can get money taken out of your check pre-tax and then use it to pay for the surgery. This will help you out on your taxes, but not defray the entire costs. |

Does blind as a bat sound bad enough? I honestly don't know what my vision was prior to the surgery, but it was pretty darn bad. I put my glasses on first thing in the morning and took them off last thing at night. I wasn't even able to walk around the house without them. I may be an exception to the rule, but I have a Soror that had the surgery done a few months after I did, and upon talking with her a few weeks ago, she told me that she also has glasses for the computer, but she doesn't wear them that often. Now my problem is not that I can't see well, but astigmatism. I've heard (and Soror told me that her doctor said this as well) that astigmatism can "come back", if you will. Do your research before having lasik - there have been zillions of successes, but also many people that are not satisfied with the results. I'd be interested in finding out how many people also have had to wear glasses or contacts after surgery. |
There are people on Dr. Phil right now telling about plastic surgery disasters. Some of them are to' up from the flo' up!

That first chick looked like she found her plastic surgeon at the bowling alley or something. She was JACKED UP! Sort of like that guy on "I want a famous face." Does anyone else watch that? |

Re: Plastic Surgery
I wouldn't. Surgery, of any kind, is no joke. I am a-okay with what I have and whatever needs to be fixed, I can do it on my own. No need to nip, tuck, cut, or otherwise re-arrange UNLESS my health is in jeopardy.

I'm boobalicious!
Hello all!
My surgery was successful! It was on Tuesday and I am feeling great! The results are absolutely amazing. I can really see how this becomes addictive for some people. I went it, didn't feel a thing, no pain, no nothing. My recovery has been just fine. I thought that it would be a lot worse, but it hasn't been bad at all. I probably could have gone back to work on Thursday. I have a wonderful doctor and I am more than pleased with the outcome. Thanks for the well-wishes. |
