BlazerCheer's Rush

We have gotten a zillion messages in the last couple of weeks asking about BlazerCheer's rush--thank you all! She starts rush in a couple of weeks. I still don't know how we'll handle this, as you never know who's reading the boards.

We surely appreciate the good wishes!:) :) :)

ajuhdg 07-26-2003 03:46 PM

I understand your concern, but don't you realize that BlazerCheer is our FIRST rush story of the Fall semester? I think you need to weigh those priorities! LOL! ;)

Good Luck to the both of you!

honeychile 07-26-2003 08:55 PM

You just be sure to tell BlazerCheer that we're all hoping that she gets a bid from the sorority she loves, and that she has all the good experiences that sorority can bring her!

Just out of curiosity, how does Ballerina feel about Blazercheer rushing? Does she want her to go Chi O?

I went through my first rush there

I think Ballerina wants BlazerCheer in Chi O on the grounds that she doesn't rat her out if she does anything that wouldn't be approved at home!

No, really...she does and yet she realizes that BC might feel at home with another group. However, I've warned her to watch out for BC in cut sessions because there are 4 girls from this town rushing and 3 are Chi O legacies. It would be terrible if Ballerina made some casual comment that she thought her sister liked the ABCs and her sorority sisters took it to mean that oh, it's okay if we cut her then and there are all these other legacies we can take.

A question for you, Carnation. How do they handle silence with in-house legacies, especially ones as close as your "twins" are? I mean, I'd think that with silence, they can't talk about rush, so Ballerina shouldn't even be able to comment on whether BlazerCheer likes another group. Of course, Ballerina's ChiO sisters could possibly analyze everything she says about BlazerCheer, so she'll have to be extra careful. I understand that.

ilovemyglo 07-30-2003 11:52 AM

At our school silence is TOTALLY strict- we can't even really say hello outside of rush! Anyway, family members as close as sisters (so not cousins) can keep in contact so long as they don't talk about rush.
Maybe Valdosta is the same/

I think you should give each of the 6 groups a code name, like an exotic location, and then have a lil revealing post at the end of it.

That way, we'll hear about BlazerCheer going back to all these great places, and the Valdosta GLO members will be trying to figure out if they're Venice, Paris or Tahiti. :)

ilovemyglo 07-31-2003 05:24 PM

Can AGD be Hawaii since we are the only NPC with a collegiate chapter there? PLEASE! :D :D :D :D :D :D

SDTSarah 07-31-2003 05:39 PM

I have some friends in Valdosta. I spent the summer there a few years ago doing the Governor's Honors Program...it was HOT!!!! How competitive is Valdosta rush? None of my friends went through...

The1calledTKE 07-31-2003 05:55 PM

Having lived in Valdosta andgoing to Valdosta, I could probably figure out who was who by any system she used. :p

VSUPhiMu 07-31-2003 06:10 PM

I wouldn't say VSU's rush is competitive. It's not like an SEC school or anything near that. We normally have around 120 or so girls go through, and about 15 or so normally withdraw. I would think that the majority of girls who go through are placed in their #1 choice or are very happy with #2.

I think that VSU's Greeks were pretty quiet last year when Carnation's girls went through. It was so hard not to post here after Ballerina came to our pref! All in all, they should be able to go through rush without all of us telling them what to do.

Jill1228 07-31-2003 11:23 PM

Good luck sweetie! Will read all about it when my home internet gets here (in the process of moving) :D
